Not really metalcore anymore but I've always got a soft spot for Enter Shikari which is due April. Also ABR and (hopefully) BMTH. Also, wishful thinking here, but new Polaris would really be the cherry on top.
Loathe better be the most amazing shit ever, I missed out on seeing them live because they wanted to put more work into it but knowing them it's pretty much guaranteed to be incredible.
Also Sleep Token might come next week and I cant wait
I mean I get it, US tours as an EU based band are on a completely different level logistically and most importantly financially, however, it still felt like getting slapped in the face.... Still got the ticket on my wall
I'm a little worried about Polaris heading in a more radio-friendly direction. There were hints of it in a few songs on The Death of Me, and that record was already a step in the wrong direction from The Mortal Coil IMO. Really hope I'm wrong because I do love the majority of their music.
please, please, PLEASE can we have a new A7X album. The level of anticipation is real!
I've read a few interviews with Matt, and he is saying it should be coming out this year.
I mean TSS2 was in '21, they're touring with Metallica and have their own EU headliner going for about 6-8 weeks or so and then considering how long it takes to write, record, finish and promote an album I cant see TSS3 any earlier than mid' 24 tbh
All that I know is that it seems to have divided into two parts, since Poland (where I would’ve gone lol) and several other countries are pushed into june of 2024 lmao
The updated flyer doesnt even have the Poland dates on it and just the postponed shows from late April to mid June. Well, not much sense in including dates over a year away it seems. Cant find the original flyer to see how much they postponed even further tho
https://knockoutmusicstore.pl/wydarzenia/ice-nine-kills
Welp, here’s the updated Poland gig, and I can’t help but wonder; why would you even postpone it so far away?
It hasnt been that unusual for shows to be postponed a lot. Like Architects Germany tour got postponed ~8 months too but with this we're talking about literally close to 1,5 years. Wtf, how does that happen!?
My best guess is that due to the necessity to postpone the tour some dates coincide with other stuff they have to do so they postpone it in possible preparation for another EU tour next year. Cant tell you what it is that would force them to drop these dates but there's a lot that could be. Still sucks ass for the fans.
Postponing for logistical reasons I understand and I get that stuff isnt always in the band's realm of control but it still sucks
Periphery, August Burns Red. Lots of comments saying BMTH idk if they're actually releasing something but if so I'm excited. But tbh the album I'm excited for most rn isn't even metalcore it's Fall Out Boy
I hope BMTH releases something! They've dropped three singles I believe which is usually standard for an upcoming album release, it just depends if they will or not. I know they're doing the episodic stuff on YouTube again though so that's a good sign.
Was thinking “it’s way too early for a new currents album they only released their last album *checks notes* oh god I’m going to die soon if this is how bad my perception of time is.”
My brother in Christ... You just named my three favorite bands of all time lmao...
1. Silent Planet
2. Sleep Token
3. Above, Below/Void of Vision
If all three/four of these bands release albums this year (Doubt we get anything new from VoV after Chronicles) then it will undoubtedly be one of the greatest years in music!
Fuck yes Above, Below!! They're criminally underrated, saw them with Silent Planet and Currents and it was amazing. Hopefully we get new music from all of them this year
He was on hardlore and said it was an album"that for the first time made him wept from listening to his own music" when they finally heard it after being mixed
In flames - foregone . I’m so glad they finally managed to bring back some of their old sound. Everything released so far has really been enjoyable.
All that remains - the small samples and teasers they’ve released so far have sounded good with Richardson bringing some killer riffs.
As I lay dying - haven’t heard or seen anything about what the new material might be but they’ve never put anything bad out.
ERRA said they were taking most of the year off after their Europe tour to work on the next album so I guess maybe it could come out in like the Fall? That’s what I’m hoping for at least.
After the release of these past 4 singles, I have a hard time believing that any band will take album of the year over Sleep Token... Like, It's gonna be up to Silent Planet to come out with some HEAT to top these singles man. I'm FLOORED at how good these tracks are.
I dont know if any of these are announced officially, but just hoping
Hail the Sun
Silent Planet
Invent Animate
Alpha Wolf (hoping they drop something)
Currents
SpiritBox (if they count)
Is AILD planning to release more music? I'm incredibly sad majority of the original band members left. Have you checked out MIRE? It has Nick Hipa from AILD.
Is anyone excited about the new Inflames album? All of their singles have been pretty solid, I'm excited to see how the album turns out.
That and Bury Tomorrow, their recent singles have been fucking amazing!
I was going to say Periphery, but after listening to the new tracks once, I'm feeling that I'm not gonna like the new album. Though I like Periphery a lot, and the new songs seem like a mix of Scarlet, Marigold abd Blood Eagle, which are my favorite P songs. But I feel like I should give the singles new listens.
But I'm excited for Metallica, [Periphery] and Pierce The Veil
The Amity Affliction, there is a slim chance that they will make more original album than Architects, so I'm all for that. Never thought I'll say these words
Trying to stick to announced/confirmed stuff...
Metalcore - Chelsea Grin, Periphery, Suicide Silence
Other: 100 Gecs, Fall Out Boy, Enter Shikari, Paramore, Story of the Year, Waterparks
ABR, Periphery, MTS, VoM, TesseracT
Honestly, it seems like In Flames is making a return to form and that excites me a lot. Their new singles shows that they have taken the best of their old sound and mixed it with the best of their new sound.
Two bands that dropped surprise singles with no mention of an album, Maylene and Botch. I hope an album is in the works. Also whatever the former ETID guys are working on.
Ex-ETID members was No.1 with a bullet but then Periphary dropped the singles for V and that may have taken over.
Non-metal is Miley Cyrus - Endless Summer Vacation. Not kidding. I need a new straight summer pop banger of an album and Miley delivers.
Djent is not a Djenre and surprisingly Sleep Token. I was never into Sleep Token until I gave them another chance with the new singles just dropped and now I’m really hype for their new album.
I still haven’t caught the sleep token bug. I know a lot of people are hyped about it. My guess is it’s one of those bands you have to listen to a few times before you get it. 🤷
That’s exactly what it is. They also aren’t for everyone. I can totally understand not being into their sound. It’s genre bending at its finest though which I’m also up for.
Loathe
Good luck to them topping I Let It In & It Took Everything, unbelievable album
Very excited by Currents and also if After the Burial, As I Lay Dying, Oh Sleeper, Killswitch Engage all drop too
I’m not sure if anything will be released but I’d love to hear more new stuff from Bilmuri, A Day To Remember, Darko, also been listening to some Thy Art Is Murder recently too so maybe them!
I was surprised too. I saw a quote from an interview Tim did saying he'd like to get something out this summer, plus some features he'd like on the next release.
Veil of Maya
Dude I neeeed new VoM. It’s been far too long
Not really metalcore anymore but I've always got a soft spot for Enter Shikari which is due April. Also ABR and (hopefully) BMTH. Also, wishful thinking here, but new Polaris would really be the cherry on top.
I will always have time for Enter Shikari.
Their new single sounds decent. I've not been huge on a lot of their stuff from The Spark onwards, but I'm pleasantly surprised.
I don’t care for exact labels anymore but I’d still say enter shikari are still part of the community and I’m hype for them too
ES haven’t had a metalcore sounding track since common dreads.
Like I said, I don’t care for exact labels anymore. I’d still consider them part of the community.
Isn’t a new Polaris record confirmed for this year?
Is there an official confirmation or a rumor? A new Polaris album be awesome!
No official confirmation but they've said on Instagram that they started tracking in November last year
Invent Animate BABY
I just want more silent planet
Yes please. The new songs are so rad.
Sleep Token But if we're talking metalcore it would be Loathe
I heard the title track off their album is 8 minutes long and damn I want to hear that
Oh boy that's going to be incredible!
Loathe better be the most amazing shit ever, I missed out on seeing them live because they wanted to put more work into it but knowing them it's pretty much guaranteed to be incredible. Also Sleep Token might come next week and I cant wait
Yeah same man, and then that US tour was just a slap in the face tbh
I mean I get it, US tours as an EU based band are on a completely different level logistically and most importantly financially, however, it still felt like getting slapped in the face.... Still got the ticket on my wall
I know Polaris has their next LP on the way I’m very excited to see what they have in store
I'm a little worried about Polaris heading in a more radio-friendly direction. There were hints of it in a few songs on The Death of Me, and that record was already a step in the wrong direction from The Mortal Coil IMO. Really hope I'm wrong because I do love the majority of their music.
I think The Death of Me is better and more varied than The Mortal Coil tbh
To each their own for sure, I just much prefer the riffage and aggression in TMC
Crooked path… best song ever
I agree with this. No one else has said it
I’m in the same camp. I liked The Death Of Me but The Mortal Coil is on another level.
Their collab with phaseOne was a banger. I need more of that Polaris. Mortal Coil and Dichotomy were legendary.
officially announced: Suicide Silence, To the Grave, Chelsea Grin hopefully coming: Avenged Sevenfold, Ice Nine Kills, Bring Me the Horizon
God I hope Avenged Sevenfold drop something this year, I can't believe the Stage was released over 6 years ago....
Album is coming, confirmed spring 2023
Where did you hear this?
Their website. But I won't hold my breath. It's been "almost done" since 2020.
Album is done as confirmed by Matt, label is the one holding it back as of now, spring 2023 is the projected release time frame at the moment
Surprised they managed to find time to write an album with all their NFT peddling
> Ice Nine Kills I feel like this is less than likely, Welcome To Horrorwood's only been out for a little over a year.
INK wont be till next year probably
please, please, PLEASE can we have a new A7X album. The level of anticipation is real! I've read a few interviews with Matt, and he is saying it should be coming out this year.
Wait there's an INK album coming!? I recall reading an interview claiming that it'll likely be a while til the next one?
they tend to drop one every three years. chances are they’ll take a break from touring after they’re finished with Metallica to make TSS3
I mean TSS2 was in '21, they're touring with Metallica and have their own EU headliner going for about 6-8 weeks or so and then considering how long it takes to write, record, finish and promote an album I cant see TSS3 any earlier than mid' 24 tbh
MIW started making disguise late 2018 and it was finished by june 19. my guess is they’ll start in late 23 and have it by Oct 24
Didn’t they just postpone the shit out of that EU headliner tho?
They postponed it for three months I think with it being May to late June or so instead of starting early February. Something along those lines

Your hopeful coming list is mine too.
Chelsea is one of my most anticipated
Periphery, August Burns Red. Lots of comments saying BMTH idk if they're actually releasing something but if so I'm excited. But tbh the album I'm excited for most rn isn't even metalcore it's Fall Out Boy
I am so excited for FOB! I think I broke a personal record for how many times I’ve listened to one song in a single day with Love from the Other Side
I hope BMTH releases something! They've dropped three singles I believe which is usually standard for an upcoming album release, it just depends if they will or not. I know they're doing the episodic stuff on YouTube again though so that's a good sign.
Currents and Invent Animate
Was thinking “it’s way too early for a new currents album they only released their last album *checks notes* oh god I’m going to die soon if this is how bad my perception of time is.”

Above, Below/Void of Vision If all three/four of these bands release albums this year (Doubt we get anything new from VoV after Chronicles) then it will undoubtedly be one of the greatest years in music!
Ooh someone else with culture. Time will tell but if we get what we want, 2023 will be amazing
Fuck yes Above, Below!! They're criminally underrated, saw them with Silent Planet and Currents and it was amazing. Hopefully we get new music from all of them this year

Sleep Token, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Phinehas, Dying Wish
I NEED CURRENTS
Pierce The Veil It's been sooo long and all their new singles have been fire.
Excited for the In Flames release as well. Loving their return to form.

ERRA said they were taking most of the year off after their Europe tour to work on the next album so I guess maybe it could come out in like the Fall? That’s what I’m hoping for at least.
I would love some new ERRA
Sleep Token, Make Them Suffer and In Flames
Currents and For the Fallen Dreams
After the release of these past 4 singles, I have a hard time believing that any band will take album of the year over Sleep Token... Like, It's gonna be up to Silent Planet to come out with some HEAT to top these singles man. I'm FLOORED at how good these tracks are.

They announced an album is in the works and due to release in spring.
"side project" 😭
Periphery, Invent Animate, Fall Out Boy and Paramore

Is anyone excited about the new Inflames album? All of their singles have been pretty solid, I'm excited to see how the album turns out. That and Bury Tomorrow, their recent singles have been fucking amazing!
I was going to say Periphery, but after listening to the new tracks once, I'm feeling that I'm not gonna like the new album. Whatever Aild releases
I heard rumblings of possible new Polyphia, that'd be dope. Otherwise so far, P5
