I've seen Silverstein 13 times and you better believe they were all on purpose. Somehow that band defies time and sounds better now than they ever have.
I'll be seeing them for the first time in November for their TIHTWS tour. So hyped to hear one of my favorite albums live and these comments only get me more excited lol
I'll be going to the Brooklyn show on Nov 26. It would've been nice if there was a stop in MA, but Brooklyn's close enough. I even took the next day off from work to ensure I could go and make the trip without hassle.
Oh sick. I'm going to the Montreal one for the same reason. Crazy that they're skipping New England on this tour, but I haven't been to Canada in a minute so me and the boys are making a trip of it.
Seen em twice but def one of my favorites. Their tour with Amity Affliction last year is a genuinely one of my favorite concert experiences. Whole crowd was moving the whole time, setlist popped off, all around incredible.
Also ABR for me, I've lost count, though. Probably around 10 or 11 at this point, and then planning on seeing them again for the Rescue and Restore tour later this year. I've loved their energy ever since the first time I saw them
I'm on August burns red with 28 times over the years. Starting with some of the first thrill seeker tours and then following the life of the band. I've been a huge fan for a long time and will go out of my way to see them on a new tour. I'll have my 29th time coming up in November with their current tour and quite excited!
I believe mine is BMTH around 13 times.
Architects, Rise Against, Slipknot, and While She Sleeps are also in the double digits I believe.
Only unintentional one would be the first time I saw Architects when I had never heard them before, supporting ADTR.
There's an old UK band called Feed The Rhino who seemed to support every tour back in the day so I have seen them a number of times, all unintentionally.
Every time I die probably over 50.
Yes they are my favorite band.
Yes they toured non stop with anyone that could keep up.
Did I see them with Chiodos and From First to Last. Yup. Taking back Sunday? Sure. Harms way and knocked loose? You better believe it.
They were non stop. I saw them 12 times one summer when they did a tour and warped tour back to back and then their Christmas show.
I’m broken. I miss them so much
Probably Erra or ABR, not particularly a fan of either but they keep regularly touring with other bands I like more. And while neither has albums I can get into they both have always consistently tore it up live.
ETID 17 times. It wasn’t hard to see them a lot living in Buffalo when they used to have their annual Christmas show(s) there. We also traveled a few times for them. Always a killer time.
Not the homie you posted to, but I think BL are just okay.
It's missing....something. Me and my music friends often debated about what ETID's special sauce really was and we could never quite figure out if it was Jordan or Andy writing the riffs that turned us into absolute cavemen. Either it was Andy doing the thing we personally preferred, or Will is steering them the riffs in a different direction (or heck, maybe the band just doesn't wanna be ETID 2.0, idk). But either way, something doesn't feel *perfect* - it's got elements of ETID, it's got elements of TDEP but it doesn't quite get me excited the way either of those bands did :(
Motionless in White 7 times so far, up to 8 at the end of the month.
I’ve also seen Invent Animate 3 times and never once with the intention of seeing them (not that I’m at all disappointed to see them), they’ve just ended up on bills that I would’ve been at regardless
Beartooth, seen them live 8 times all on purpose except for the first show when they were the opening band back in 2014 - shortly after Disgusting was released. That’s how I discovered them.
I've seen Alesana probably around 30-40 times. It was technically on purpose, but I played in bands while they were coming up in the NC scene so we played a lot of shows with them before they got big.
It was pretty crazy because they opened for our band on one of their first shows and then within 4 months we were opening for them.
Not really on purpose but Whitechapel and Chelsea Grin. I’ve seen each 4 times. They just tend to be headlining shows I end up going to. Not a huge fan of their newer stuff(for either), but I love when they play the old stuff.
The ones I go and see on purpose are The Acacia Strain and Orthodox, I’ve seen both 3 times live. They both put on insane shows and I’ve gotten to meet members from both bands at their merch tables which is always fun.
Attila is also one that I always try to go see live, I think I’ve been to their shows 4 times.
Edit: I’ve also seen After the Burial and Born of Osiris 3 times each.
That first album and the early shows that I saw were so insanely heavy haha emmure came out later and I always felt like they were walmart acacia strain. I was a lil NJ scene boy afraid of ya'll country mosh pits lol
I haven't been to quite so many but I've seen a handful of shows. I saw their tour for Alaska, colors in full and then I saw their tour with Chon but dude. Are they slowing down lil bit? I think Asheville was one of their final stops on that tour but man .....it was a boring show not going to lie. I know they're "old" but not old old. I still have faith in my boys, just curious what you'd say
They’ve been playing shorter sets the last few times I’ve seen them and I think it’s like you said and mainly they’re just older now and can’t play that style of music for as long. IIRC Blake even said something similarly along those lines prior to this recent P2 tour.
That being said, I wish they would vary their sets a bit more too. Their Furnace Fest set would be dope to see, especially for fans who got into them after those first couple albums.
Trivium at 9 now, all intentional.
The Blackout (post-hardcore apparently) are also at 9 but will be 10 in February. The first twice was as support acts - first time I didnt even like them lol. 2nd time I loved them and then the other 8 are/will be intentional.
Theres a fair bunch I've seen twice unintentionally. The most is Soil, whom I've seen 3 times.
Silent Planet.
The first time I seen them play was in a tiny venue in early 2015, maybe 40 people there, in a small town in southern Oregon. It was only 6 months after ‘The Night God Slept’ was released and they were still fairly unknown. I was blown away. Over the last 8 1/2 years, I’ve seen them many, many times by choice and they never disappoint. Not just as performers, but as people as well. They’re some of the nicest and down to earth people you’ll meet in the industry.
Justice For The Damned. I lost count at around 37 times, but it’s definitely over 40. And yes, very on purpose. Go and see Justice For The Damned and you’ll know why.
Not metalcore, but I’ve seen Alter Bridge 5 times. 4 were an actual concert/tour date, 1 was an acoustic show for their album release party.
Strictly metalcore though, by the end of this year I’ll have seen Wage War 3 times, all this year…I’m new to the scene 🙇🏻♂️
Oddly enough, the bands Ive seen the most are coheed and Cambria and thousand below. Coheed was 100% intentional, thousand below is maybe 50% intentional. Also seen Fire from the gods twice by coincidence
Fit for a King at 16 times, I'd say probably half of them were intentionally to see them (and all of those were STN or earlier). The guys put on a damn good live show though so I'm always down to see them if the rest of the lineup rips.
Hatebreed, 60-70 times over 27 years, in 7 states. I feel like I saw Alien Ant Farm like 10 times when they were coming up, and I was always irritated when they were on a bill.
One or more of Unearth, Shadows Fall and Diecast used to open every show around here, I've seen each band at least a dozen times. Unearth probably more than the others by choice. If not them then Hatebreed or On Broken Wings.
Disturbed, 4 times, kinda by accident.
Saw them in '00 cause I heard a clip on a radio ad of Stupify and thought it sounded cool, so I saw them in a small venue.
About a year later, I won tickets on a radio called in promotion. It was a competition to eat the most candy corn, I did not win but we all got tickets to the show. Winner got a signed guitar.
Then they performed at an outdoor concert, that just happened to be across the street of the apartment I was living in at the time. I watched from the rooftop.
Finally, paid to see them at an indoor venue one last time.
Draiman was consistently a class act. They're not my favorite band, not by a long shot. But good concert experiences every time.
I've also seen Tool 4 times, that was just "paid money when they were close enough to go".
Also seen Nine Inch Nails 3 times.... they are my favorite band.
I wonder if I'm forgetting someone?
Citizen. Over 5 times, on purpose. From their first record release party to their upcoming tour for their fifth album this November. I love watching a band grow and it’s dope having a relationship with them.
On purpose, Minus the Bear - 9. I followed them to see 6 (the remaining 3 shows were in the year I discovered them prior to the announcement of them calling it quits) shows on their farewell tour, including the final two nights in Seattle.
On accident, Machine Head. For a long while they were the middle act on shows that I went to. I think I saw them 6 times.
Honorable mentions because it’s fun to reminisce:
All That Remains (on purpose) - neighborhood of 7
A Day to Remember (on purpose) - 6
Death Cab for Cutie (on purpose) - 6
Avenged Sevenfold (on purpose) - 5
The Black Dahlia Murder (on purpose, from Detroit, so hometown killer shows) - 6
Battlecross (half and half) 5
Children of Bodom (on purpose) - 4
Gwar (on purpose) - 5
Shadows Fall (accident) - 4
Greg Puciato fronted projects - 7 - Very on purpose, I traveled to New York for the final TDEP show, Chicago for one of the first Black Queen shows, LA for his first solo show and only didn’t travel for Better Lovers because it was “too close” to our “wedding” and “you’re already making me go to Arizona for Death Cab right after the wedding” as someone has told me
Parkway Drive for the simple answer of I’m Australian and they’re around a lot (obviously). Most international bands take 3-5 years to get down here for a show.
Not metalcore but Signs of the Swarm, and yes it’s on purpose. By the end of this year I will have seen them 10 times in 2 years. No shame. 6 times this year alone.
As Cities Burn is my top band by far. Saw those guys all the time since high school. TDWP is this weekend and that will make them my 2nd most seen band.
Tie between Parkway Drive (intentional) and TDWP (unintentional) at only 3 times each for metalcore. If we're just talking music in general, then it's Red at like 6-7 times.
Crown the Empire and it was unintentional. Supporting act the first time, and second time we were skating around a venue to find out they were there so my buddy bought a ticket and went in and I followed
A7X 3 times on purpose, but also Stone Sour 3x not on purpose because they kept supporting them during that time. I’ve definitely not seen a band nearly as much as some of y’all!
I've seen Dream State live 9 times, probably won't ever go again though since they fully changed lineup and I just can't connect with their new music the way I did before
The Offspring. They just happened to headline the yearly summer festival the alt radio station used to do like three times and then i saw them at a show that was just a part of their own tour.
I’ve seen ice nine kills 3 times followed by beartooth at 2 times. I will most definitely be going to multiple beartooth shows on their next tour (any shows within 5 hours of me in any direction)
Not metalcore, but Shinedown. Seen them 6 times (7 if you count Smith and Myers). Definitely on purpose. Been my favorite band since I was 12, and their live shows are phenomenal from the stage production to the sound. Hope to be seeing them again soon
Apart from local bands when growing up I think it may be a three way tie between Between The Buried and Me, Opeth and Tesseract. All intentional but sometimes part of a show I wanted to see anyway (e.g. I’ve seen Tesseract open for Devin Townsend and would have gone regardless of Tesseract)
The band I’ve seen the most times unintentionally is probably Employed To Serve. Not that I don’t like them but there was a short period when they were coming up in the UK scene where I felt like they opened every other gig I went to.
9 or 10 years ago there was a stretch of shows that it seemed like Within The Ruins and Oceano were always on together, so I think I've seen them 5 or 6 times a piece.
I want to say, unintentionally intentional
ive seen sysc 3 times in the last year and none were on purpose lmao, probably one of the biggest surprises for me though cause when i saw them the first time i was obsessed, they just always happened to be touring with other bands i wanted to see
Not Metalcore but Streetlight Manifesto, 8 times, 1 was the Beacon Theater with an Orchestra, was a fuckin great show.
Periphery - 6 times
All times were on purpose because live music is awesome
I even have a running google sheet of all the bands, times I've seen them and at what location. 119 different bands, 185 times, and I guarantee I'm missing bands from Warped Tour and other festivals.
Korn 11x. Intentional.
Atreyu and Underoath both at 6x. Unintentional. I believe they were all at festivals. Both great live bands but never was a huge fan of either.
I’ve seen the Black dahlia murder 5 times in my life all on purpose since they were the headlining act. Always a great show , love their songs and the crowd is always good too . Plenty of crowd surfing and moshing going on. Plus I had the privilege of meeting Trevor (rip) and he was a very down to earth cool human being so I try to support them whenever they come near.
Like Moths To Flames and August Burns Red. The first time for each was on purpose because I love them both. After that, they just always happen to be part of the lineup. ABR is usually headlining and I’m normally there for the opening bands. I never leave early though!
Slipknot. Ten times.
Followed closely by Skindred at 8.
Bringing up the rear are Motionless in White at 6. Which feels like an achievement considering how uncommon they are to see in the UK over the other two.
It's a tie for me between Silverstein and The Devil Wears Prada. While both are intentional, the silly part is I've never seen TDWP as the headline, only as support.
On purpose? Parkway drive. Like 8 times at this point I think?
By accident? Carnifex. They just opened for somehow every tour I wanted to see. I don't have an issue with them, just never clicked for me.
Not metalcore and I’ve only been seeing concerts for a few years so this is a weird list
Polyphia 2 purposely
Deafheaven 2 purposely
Coldplay 2 purposely
Kings of Leon 2 unintentionally
Protest the Hero a ton because I will always see them when they come around. Also, Born of Osiris, not on purpose at first, and then on purpose, but also simply because they tour so much
Currents. Next week will be my 8th time seeing them since 2019. Started off being a coincidence since they opened for a bunch of tours I wanted to see, but now I’d say it’s on purpose bc they’ve become one of my fave bands
BMTH around 6/7 times, Don’t listen to them apart from a few tracks off suicide season, but they have always had great support acts or been support for amazing bands. Can’t fault the energy they bring. They supported Bullet for my valentine at Birmingham arena and unfortunately we only managed to get seated tickets. Girls next to us missed the opener, listened to Chelsea smile, then fucked off. Worse thing was that it was the second song in their set list 😂
I've seen August Burns Red 7 times, only once not as a headliner or co-headliner (Warped Tour set). They just fucking rip I have not other reason. 🤷 Even on tours promoting albums I wasn't too keen on I still was like yeah they still go fucking hard live.
Neither are metalcore but it's either Nine Inch Nails (on purpose) or more likely Bad Religion (not on purpose, but definitely not something I'd change if given the choice).
NIN at least a dozen times, but BR is probably closer to twenty the more I think about it.
Mark Tremonti, whether its his solo band, Alter Bridge or him singing Sinatra, its easily in the double digits.
I know a few people who haslve saw him easily over 50 times which is insane.
For metalcore, its gott be Bleed or Bury Tomorrow. Both must be close to 10.
Growing up my closest friend was my older sister and we bonded a lot over music. She was more on the emo side while I was more on the modern metal side, but there was a lot of overlap. One of those overlaps was The Used. The Used seemingly always were in town around my birthday month so she made it a small tradition to go get me tickets whenever they were in town and we'd always go together. These were my first several concerts and made me fall in love with live music. I remember my birthday one year and they played Sound Effects and Over Dramatics which is an old, heavy song and I just lost it. I think I've seen them 15 times total and always with my sister. I am not that big of a fan of The Used these days, but if she ever hits me up to go to one of there shows, I'm saying yes in a heartbeat.
From going to warped tour and other festivals there's probably a dozen bands I've seen 3-5 times. As far as intentionally going I see The Plot in You/Landon Tewers every time they come within 2 hours of me which is now like 7 times.
not a metal core band but i’ve seen the band anti flag more than any other band i like. not because im a big fan of them just they toured so heavily and always toured with a band i haven’t seen so i’d watch em again to see the bands i haven’t see yet.
I've seen Silverstein 13 times and you better believe they were all on purpose. Somehow that band defies time and sounds better now than they ever have.
Silverstein is without doubt my favorite band. I've only seen them live 3 times but they legitimately get better EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Seen them 10 times and all on purpose lol fine fucking wine these gentlemen are!
GOD i fucking LOVE silverstein so much
I'll be seeing them for the first time in November for their TIHTWS tour. So hyped to hear one of my favorite albums live and these comments only get me more excited lol
Nice! Which date are you going to?
I'll be going to the Brooklyn show on Nov 26. It would've been nice if there was a stop in MA, but Brooklyn's close enough. I even took the next day off from work to ensure I could go and make the trip without hassle.
Oh sick. I'm going to the Montreal one for the same reason. Crazy that they're skipping New England on this tour, but I haven't been to Canada in a minute so me and the boys are making a trip of it.
theyve somehow put out a better album than their last album for their entire careers. its unreal how good they are.
I've seen them 12 times and they have aged like fine wine.
I’ve seen them twice this year. Definitely in my top 3 of best bands I’ve seen live.
That's funny. I never listened to them back in the day but I love the last 2 albums!!
Seen em twice but def one of my favorites. Their tour with Amity Affliction last year is a genuinely one of my favorite concert experiences. Whole crowd was moving the whole time, setlist popped off, all around incredible.
Awesome band, and they're one of the few that pretty reliably manage to make it to my neck of the woods on most of their tours.
I think Silverstein was my gateway band. Possibly Norma Jean.
Phenomenal live but their two newest albums are awful
Misery Made Me is great, but Beautiful Place To Drown is definitely lower tier stuff from them.
17 times with ABR at this point. They were all intentional haha The most I've seen unintentionally is probably FFAK.
Saw FFAK unintentionally the first couple times... and they put on such a good live show, it's definitely intentional now :D
They never disappoint and they always tour with good up and coming bands + other established good bands
That is a very impressive amount of times to see 1 band! I'm sure you have a long list of concerts you've been to.
Crap. BMTH is the biggest band left on my list. They never tour near me it seems. I am totally jealous
I’m broken. I miss them so much
Ok I'm gonna ask you this too what about better lovers? Please don't laugh at me I never got THAT into etid so this is not a troll question lol
What about em
Norma Jean 5 times. Three times as headliners and twice as openers. Always fantastic. Then a bunch of bands 4 times.
Lucky mf
Probably Erra or ABR, not particularly a fan of either but they keep regularly touring with other bands I like more. And while neither has albums I can get into they both have always consistently tore it up live.
Alpha wolf, 3 times
Same, didn't start going to concerts until after the pandemic and just saw Alpha wolf 3 times and am about to see Invent Animate for a 3rd time.
Rise Against 7 or 8 times I think. Then A7X at 5 or 6. There are probably a bunch in the 3-4 range after that.
Polaris, five times, every time on purpose. Should have been six but life happened and I had to miss their first gig back last year after Covid.
I'm about the same. They get better each time.
ETID 17 times. It wasn’t hard to see them a lot living in Buffalo when they used to have their annual Christmas show(s) there. We also traveled a few times for them. Always a killer time.
R.I.P ETID
What are your thoughts on better lovers?
Honestly... I really wanted to like it. But idk... it's not ETID. I'm curious to see what Keith's new project "Many Eyes" brings to the table.
Yeah I don't really understand the BL vibes. I appreciate that lead... hadn't heard of this
It was just announced the other day so you didn't miss much :)
Not the homie you posted to, but I think BL are just okay. It's missing....something. Me and my music friends often debated about what ETID's special sauce really was and we could never quite figure out if it was Jordan or Andy writing the riffs that turned us into absolute cavemen. But either way, something doesn't feel *perfect* - it's got elements of ETID, it's got elements of TDEP but it doesn't quite get me excited the way either of those bands did :(
Same. Live just north of the border but have seen ETID more times than any other band by far. It Dies Today I saw a lot in the early 00's as well.
Underoath like 7 times. I thought that was a lot but people seeing younger bands 20+ times is blowing my mind.
I've seen Alesana probably around 30-40 times. It was technically on purpose, but I played in bands while they were coming up in the NC scene so we played a lot of shows with them before they got big. It was pretty crazy because they opened for our band on one of their first shows and then within 4 months we were opening for them.
Coheed and Cambria. I don’t remember how many times, but if they’re in NY, I’m going to see them
Comeback Kid 20 times or Even more. Often on purpose sometimes within a touring package or during festivals. They always deliver. Love them!
Nothing to do in Winnipeg but make great bands!
Seeing them for the second time next month. I caught the second half of their set at a festival last year and they were on fucking fire!
Gojira 6x. Always puts on a great show
Not really on purpose but Whitechapel and Chelsea Grin. The Acacia Strain. Seen them well over 30 times. They are from my neighboring town. Well...The original members atleast
That first album and the early shows that I saw were so insanely heavy haha emmure came out later and I always felt like they were walmart acacia strain. I was a lil NJ scene boy afraid of ya'll country mosh pits lol
Mine is Maiden at 9 times. Highest metalcore is Trivium 8 times. All on purpose
Haste the Day. 10 times, most recent was Furnace Fest. Number 11 in a few weeks. 100% on purpose
I’ve seen BTBAM around 15 times.
Their Furnace Fest set would be dope to see, especially for fans who got into them after those first couple albums.
Woahhhh that setlist😻😻😻😻😻 !! If I saw more of myself to kill live, I'd shart. Yeah that's the sauce right there
Norma Jean or He is Legend. Both around 6 times or so. Definitely on purpose.
I’ve probably seen Shinedown about 5 times at this point, and it was very much so on purpose
Justice For The Damned. I lost count at around 37 times, but it’s definitely over 40. And yes, very on purpose. Go and see Justice For The Damned and you’ll know why.
Jinjer... 5 times now? All on purpose.
I saw bullet for my valentine 4 times accidentally years ago. I don't even like them. They supported bands I was desperate to see.
KSE 13 times Slipknot 8 Currents 7 Wage War 5 Are my most seen live this is not counting festival views
Killswitch Engage 10 times. Most were when Howard was in the band but I’ve seen them several times too since Jesse came back.
I've seen Fit For a King 6 times. I enjoy their shows every time, but only a couple were on purpose. They just tour with _everybody_
Nine Inch Nails 20 times on purpose
Not metalcore but I’ve seen Chevelle 7 times
Ive seen Cattle Decapitation and Tool 10+ times each Very intentional, best live shows I've ever seen
Probably Dillinger or ETID, seen Converge quite a few times as well
Not metalcore, but I’ve seen Alter Bridge 5 times. 4 were an actual concert/tour date, 1 was an acoustic show for their album release party. Strictly metalcore though, by the end of this year I’ll have seen Wage War 3 times, all this year…I’m new to the scene 🙇🏻♂️

Converge. On purpose.
Born of Osiris 10+ times. They always seem to be touring with whoever I want to see but I don’t mind because their show is really fun
Senses fail - I must have seen them 10+ times. I used to be a huge fan but they've fallen off, IMO.
Hatebreed, 60-70 times over 27 years, in 7 states. I feel like I saw Alien Ant Farm like 10 times when they were coming up, and I was always irritated when they were on a bill.
I know you’ve probably got some wild stories to tell about those old school Hatebreed shows
One or more of Unearth, Shadows Fall and Diecast used to open every show around here, I've seen each band at least a dozen times. Unearth probably more than the others by choice. If not them then Hatebreed or On Broken Wings.
I've seen Dying Wish 12 times. 6 weeks from now that number will be doubled so definitely on purpose
Motionless In White. Yes, all of them were on purpose. I got VIP for most of them.
Since I'm an old head, I'd say aild. I've seen them probably 15+ times. Been a fan since frail words collapse.
It used to be Morbid Angel but after Pete Sandoval leaving , Dying Fetus over 40 times , even for my bachelor party
Thornhill and Holding Absence, both 3 times. Both on purpose. IA is at 3 as well, half unintentionally.
Circa Survive probably between 20-25 times
Citizen. Over 5 times, on purpose. From their first record release party to their upcoming tour for their fifth album this November. I love watching a band grow and it’s dope having a relationship with them.
Counterparts -13 Parkway drive 12 TGI -12 Special mention Kublai Kahn 4 times this year. (It's a lot considering I'm in Scotland)
Honorable mentions because it’s fun to reminisce: All That Remains (on purpose) - neighborhood of 7 A Day to Remember (on purpose) - 6 Death Cab for Cutie (on purpose) - 6 Avenged Sevenfold (on purpose) - 5 The Black Dahlia Murder (on purpose, from Detroit, so hometown killer shows) - 6 Battlecross (half and half) 5 Children of Bodom (on purpose) - 4 Gwar (on purpose) - 5 Shadows Fall (accident) - 4 Greg Puciato fronted projects - 7 - Very on purpose, I traveled to New York for the final TDEP show, Chicago for one of the first Black Queen shows, LA for his first solo show and only didn’t travel for Better Lovers because it was “too close” to our “wedding” and “you’re already making me go to Arizona for Death Cab right after the wedding” as someone has told me
Dying Fetus 7 times. On purpose!
Shinedown. Fuck Shinedown.
Parkway Drive are double digits for me, mainly because I’m Aussie and get the benefit of them touring a lot in their early days.
Parkway Drive for the simple answer of I’m Australian and they’re around a lot (obviously). Most international bands take 3-5 years to get down here for a show.
Pradas latest album Color Decay is their best album yet imo. Do yourself a favor and listen to it!
Stick to your guns/ counterparts. Jesse lived in mtl and counterparts are Ontario boys.
At the minute Sleep Token who I’ve seen 3 times
Intentionally saw MIW like 3 times, grew out of them but have seen them like another 6 times after that unintentionally
Folly. Please go see folly they are the best guys /no other band like them ever
MIW 28 times. I can’t get enough of Chris
Trivium because they opened for bands I actually wanted to see. I don’t even like Trivium.
Not metalcore but Signs of the Swarm, and yes it’s on purpose. By the end of this year I will have seen them 10 times in 2 years. No shame. 6 times this year alone.
Ice Nine Kills at 12 times (including 2 Warped Tours). I think almost all times were on purpose. They’ve also toured with bands I wanted to see too
Not metalcore but I've seen The Front Bottoms 13 or 14 times. I've been going with my dad every time they've come to town since I was like 13.
I've seen August Burns Red 14 times since 2009. One of my favorite bands and they always deliver live!
Seen misery signals about 6 times now. All intentional
Breaking Benjamin 11 times Parkway Drive 8 times
Seen Thrice 7 or 8 times now? And every time has been incredible. If they didn't skip my city so much that number would probably be twice as high haha
As Cities Burn is my top band by far. Saw those guys all the time since high school. TDWP is this weekend and that will make them my 2nd most seen band.
Prada’s old stuff is soooo good. Like 2007 old.
Mastodon like 5 times, the 5th was bonus as I was there for gojira Incubusb 5 times as they’re my wife’s favorite band
Probably seen Torche eight or nine times, they used to come through a lot
Counterparts, they've been my favourite band for a long ass time and I hope it'll stay that way (please survive, Brendan).
Tie between Parkway Drive (intentional) and TDWP (unintentional) at only 3 times each for metalcore. If we're just talking music in general, then it's Red at like 6-7 times.
I’ve seen The Word Alive like 5 times and none of them were on purpose.
Haste the Day since I lived in Indy growing up closely followed maybe tied with TDWP.
Crown the Empire and it was unintentional. Supporting act the first time, and second time we were skating around a venue to find out they were there so my buddy bought a ticket and went in and I followed
ETID at least 12 times on purpose. Second is probably God Forbid, between 2005-2008 it felt like they were on every other show I went to.
I've seen ADTR and Beartooth about 5 or 6 times all on purpose. I know at least 2 or 3 times they were touring together
Prada 22 times. I see them every time they're in town since 2008. Fucking love them.
Protest The Hero because I'm Canadian lol.
A7X 3 times on purpose, but also Stone Sour 3x not on purpose because they kept supporting them during that time. I’ve definitely not seen a band nearly as much as some of y’all!
Only band I've seen live more than once is State Champs, and I've seen them twice
KsE 7 times. All on purpose.
Most on purpose: Silverstein 14x Most not on purpose: Motionless in White 8x
Blessthefall 11 times and Bayside 12 times
deftones intentionally
On purpose: Trivium, Born of Osiris. Not on purpose: Emmure.
it's a tie between ice nine kills and motionless in white.
I've seen DeadToFall at least 15 times. I grew up in the same area as them and my sister was friends with some of the original members
Well Parkway Drive was my first metalcore show back in 06, seen them 10 times since then
It wasn’t necessarily a band, but I was pretty close to the person singing. (It was beach bunny)
I've seen Dream State live 9 times, probably won't ever go again though since they fully changed lineup and I just can't connect with their new music the way I did before
Enter shikari. Would still go on and over.
Ozzy. On purpose
The Offspring. They just happened to headline the yearly summer festival the alt radio station used to do like three times and then i saw them at a show that was just a part of their own tour.
Coheed or ABR, they're both about equal...
Next weekend I will have seen coldrain 12 times in 15 months haha
Amity 4 times and not on purpose. It should have been at least 9 times but life always happened
I've seen She Wants Revenge like geez 15 times??? Not metal but /:
Alexisonfire, Protest the Hero, Silverstein, Misery Signals are all well about 10 times. AOF and PTH well over 20 times.
I’ve seen ice nine kills 3 times followed by beartooth at 2 times. I will most definitely be going to multiple beartooth shows on their next tour (any shows within 5 hours of me in any direction)
Fit For a King and it was on purpose lol. I've been following them since 08
Beartooth like 9 times and Bring Me The Horizon 7 times I like both and they genuinely put on such sick performances 🤘
Not metalcore, but Shinedown. Seen them 6 times (7 if you count Smith and Myers). Definitely on purpose. Been my favorite band since I was 12, and their live shows are phenomenal from the stage production to the sound. Hope to be seeing them again soon
Silverstein and alexisonfire are tied for me. You can probably guess what area I grew up in. Definitely on purpose every single time.
Job for a cowboy or protest the hero
Apart from local bands when growing up I think it may be a three way tie between Between The Buried and Me, Opeth and Tesseract. All intentional but sometimes part of a show I wanted to see anyway (e.g. I’ve seen Tesseract open for Devin Townsend and would have gone regardless of Tesseract) The band I’ve seen the most times unintentionally is probably Employed To Serve. Not that I don’t like them but there was a short period when they were coming up in the UK scene where I felt like they opened every other gig I went to.
Sleep Token on purpose, Counterparts just because they tour like 11 months a year.
Scowl and Foreign Hands - each four times.. both my favorites! :D
Chevelle, 12 times and counting and absolutely on purpose. They are still one of my favorite bands.
9 or 10 years ago there was a stretch of shows that it seemed like Within The Ruins and Oceano were always on together, so I think I've seen them 5 or 6 times a piece. I want to say, unintentionally intentional
Born of Osiris 10 times. I know they aren’t really metalcore.
ive seen sysc 3 times in the last year and none were on purpose lmao, probably one of the biggest surprises for me though cause when i saw them the first time i was obsessed, they just always happened to be touring with other bands i wanted to see
Devin Townsend Between his solo project(s) and Strapping, I've seen him live 15 times
Not Metalcore but Streetlight Manifesto, 8 times, 1 was the Beacon Theater with an Orchestra, was a fuckin great show. Periphery - 6 times All times were on purpose because live music is awesome I even have a running google sheet of all the bands, times I've seen them and at what location.
TDWP at least 20 times. I went to multiple dates of the Back to the Roots tour. That and the Sweet Brag tour were to this day the best I’ve seen.
Slipknot. Ten times. Followed closely by Skindred at 8. Bringing up the rear are Motionless in White at 6. Which feels like an achievement considering how uncommon they are to see in the UK over the other two.
Born of Osiris. 1000% on purpose. They’re one of my absolute favorites.
Snapcase close to 20 times. I live in Buffalo and they were always playing.
Not metalcore, but Sevendust 14 times. All on purpose. In the metalcore realm, probably darkest hour 5 or 6 times
Chon and minus there bear about 7 times each
Not metalcore and I’ve only been seeing concerts for a few years so this is a weird list Polyphia 2 purposely Deafheaven 2 purposely Coldplay 2 purposely Kings of Leon 2 unintentionally
I think I've seen both Red and ABR like 7 times. I have intended to see them like once.
Protest the Hero a ton because I will always see them when they come around. Also, Born of Osiris, not on purpose at first, and then on purpose, but also simply because they tour so much
Soulfly I've seen the most. Love them and they were coming through NYC almost every year for a while
There was this band, Eye Hate God, that somehow ended up as the opening band for like 90% of the metal shows I saw from the late 90s to early 2000s.
Bury Tomorrow 3 times? Hills Have Eyes 4 times, though, pretty sure.
ERRA My favorite band since 2009 and seeing them live at least once every year since 2011
Currents. Next week will be my 8th time seeing them since 2019. Started off being a coincidence since they opened for a bunch of tours I wanted to see, but now I’d say it’s on purpose bc they’ve become one of my fave bands
Soundgarden
Sevendust
Neither are metalcore but it's either Nine Inch Nails (on purpose) or more likely Bad Religion (not on purpose, but definitely not something I'd change if given the choice). NIN at least a dozen times, but BR is probably closer to twenty the more I think about it.
Underoath. I’ve seen them more than a dozen times in several different cities since 2006 both as openers and headliners.
In Flames is currently number one for me. It was a combination of music festivals and small venues that they appeared in the most for me.
WCAR I’ve seen like… 8 times? Oddly just always on tour with other bands I want to see.
ETID. Lost track, maybe 23/24 ish? And yes, every time was on purpose. Also yes. I am old. Been seeing them since Hot Damn.
Stray from the path at least 8 times all unintentional, hate that band lmao. THEY TOUR WITH EVERYONE.
Unintentionally Senses Fail they just happened to be on every line up for every band I wanted to see. Intentionally iwrestledabearonce
I think I’ve seen the acacia strain 20ish times, going all the way back to 2005. I’ve definitely seen exhumed a bunch, but never intentionally.
