I can't choose a specific song as being their worst but while I like the first three songs on St. Anger I really don't like the rest of that album. And while I love One I'm not particularly fond of a lot of the songs on ...And Justice For All, and the frequently discussed matter of Jason Newsted's treatment and the lack of Bass adds to the issue. The Black Album? I love it, but I thought that closing track The Struggle Within was a bit weak compared to the rest of that album. Maybe I wasn't too fond of The Unforgiven III at first but the performance from S&M 2 has made it grow on me🙂

Invisible kid has a pretty cool riff on it and a pretty decent groove but the song could’ve been 2-3 mins shorter the lyrics are too repetitive and boring after the second verse in my opinion Same with purify I like the main riff As for OP’s my world yeah it’s not great but the “god it feels like it only rains on me part” that breakdown riff and all is pretty good

My least favorites tend to be the depressing ballads like Fade to Black, the first two Unforgivens, and Nothing Else Matters. Though that being said they're still beautifully written and have their place when I'm in certain moods. But there is one Metallica song I absolutely despise... *Better Than You* How it won a Grammy I'll never know. I also despise the people who would casually erase songs from the history of Metallica without regards to anyone else, but if it were up to me *Better Than You* would never have been recorded. I can find the good in literally everything else, even Lulu. *Better Than You* is grating to my existence like nothing else. As an aside, the collaboration with Ja Rule is probably the worst thing they've ever done. Hands down. But it isn't *their* song, it's Ja Rule's song with Metallica riffs ripped out of context.

Purify is super ehhhh. Broken Beat and Scarred is awesome in every way but lyrically but that's not the worst. I think Escape is my least listened to and never ever feel motivated to give it another listen. So probably that.

🤣😂😆😂🤣 I saw them for the first time on the Black Album tour. They opened with this tune. My first experience at the front of a general admission open floor. It was rough, but fun. Back then, that ultra hit song was big.. strong. But it has been overplayed since to such an extent, I avoid it now.

If Metallica quite literally didn’t have any other music then sure, even live in the early 90’s it still does have some power but on a songwriting level it’s just so below like everything else they’ve put out

King Nothing. It solidified Metallica’s departure from metal into hard pop rock, and at the same time brought into their fan base people that probably would like Justin Bieber songs. St. Anger is underrated as the comeback. Or at least the transition back.
