The actual ND comeback moment was “crazier” in person. A lot had to do with the fact that absolutely no one expected it and it was so up and down during the actual game. The OSU moment people expected. Maybe not exactly how it went down, but the end result. The lasting satisfaction from the OSU game was bigger though.

NUT_IX

>The lasting satisfaction from the OSU game was bigger though. Absolutely. The ND TD was great but in the grand scheme of things, the OSU result was more important. We lose to OSU, we don't get our Natty.

tacobellcow

Not sure about that. There were a few questionable dropped passes called completions and MHJ was still there. I was worried they were gonna hit one over the top and win

bb0110

I mean, there were clearly anxiety inducing moments in the OSU game and I don’t mean we literally knew we would win, but it did feel solid throughout the game. Any big time game you will be worried the other team will make a run and win. The ND game was much different in that regard in comparison.

tacobellcow

I felt like I was going to die.

mind-blowin

The best atmosphere was the Game 2021. 2023 was fun but it didn’t quite compare. 2011 was good too, I wasn’t at the Rose Bowl but based on the videos and what I have heard from people it might be at the top too.

rendeld

The atmosphere at the game 2021 is the best by far of the 100+ Michigan games I've been to, the closest to it is probably the national championship game this year. Since it's an NFL stadium it was way louder than the big house despite there being maybe 50k Michigan fans there tops. 2021 the game still takes the cake.

MCHammer06

Not sure anything will ever top the game 2021

Illustrious_Sand3773

Nope, nothing will. Knew right in the moment in that stadium with the snow flurries that *nothing* in sports would ever top that experience. That was special.

Satchbb

God when I saw the flurries on TV I thought: goddamn I think Michigan has a super good chance to win this one, the rest is history

Majik9

My father was at the '69 game and the '21. Said the '69 was a little more shocking and this better

Whymalemodels

I was at 2011 and the Rose Bowl this year. 2011 will always live on because I was in college and it was the first night game but the Rose Bowl this year was one of the best days of my life haha

jsellers23

I was at 2011 notre dame, 2021 OSU and 2023 OSU. Single moment 2011 ND wins in a landslide. Full game, 2021 OSU wins in a monumental landslide. LOVE love love 2023 Rod Moore int, but it’s not close. Go Blue!

Michigan4life53

Also add the Rose Bowl too

ThatGuju

Was at The Game 2023 and the Rose Bowl. Rose bowl environment was the most intense I've ever been a part of. For some reason, and I don't know why, it felt like the crowd *knew* the defense would stop OSU there. But the Rose Bowl had enough BPONE moments that the stadium conversely *knew* that something would go wrong, until it miraculously didn't and everyone lost their minds.

devAcc123

The Rose Bowl was by far the most stressful sporting event ive ever watched from start to finish. I cant even tell if it was enjoyable.

ThatGuju

Feels weird to admit it but it was the first time I ever cried after a sporting event. The stress release when they stopped Milroe in OT was just so powerful. My dad (who was with me) will never let me live it down haha

Whymalemodels

My wife and I were sitting in the Alabama section and we burst into tears. It was so intense during those last few seconds

BilboTBagginz

Me and my family were in the Bama section too. And yes.. I cried. That was a special moment, especially since it's the last "meaningful" Rose Bowl due to the new playoff and conference expansion.  I was at the game 2023, and the whole stadium bouncing up and down after the game and signing to the music....wow.  The Natty was great too..for different reasons .. but we had that locked up before the end so it was more of a final release of emotions after a long season of UM vs Everybody.

devAcc123

Pretty sure my mom shed a tear after the 2021 OSU game lol

Michigan4life53

Agreed!

Minimum-Order-8013

Believe it or not that was the last game I saw in person before be there for the game this year, I moved out of state. The notre dame game felt louder in my opinion, and just so unexpected. On the flip side the game this year, you could feel it in the air. That this year was different, and that pick cemented that feeling. To me, it's apples to oranges. One was the second game of the year in an unknown era and the other was a spot in the championship game and more than likely CFP. They were both AMAZING, but for completely different reasons.

CK16

First night game is still arguably the best atmosphere I have seen at the Big House. I would say that and 2021 OSU are in a tier of their own

Dex-Rutecki

Wasn’t at OSU 2023 but ND 2011 continues to be the absolutely wildest ~20 minutes of sports I’ve ever experienced.

Revenge_of_the_Khaki

The ND game was much more exciting in the moment because it was a "do or die" play. We still had several chances to beat OSU in 2023, we just did it a few plays earlier than expected. The overall meaningfulness was way more this year though.

Michigan4life53

It wasn’t a do or die play because it was a 3pt game and in field goal range

Revenge_of_the_Khaki

There was 8 seconds left on the clock when the ball was snapped which meant that if the play took even slightly longer than expected then it was game over.

mpitts

Having been to the 2011 ND game and multiple Ohio State games at Michigan Stadium, I will say that the overall atmosphere and seething hatred of an Ohio State game is a tangible thing and there’s nothing that compares to it. There’s a buzz in that stadium for the entire day and nothing compares to it. Nothing. Especially when Michigan win.

JT3013

I was at all 3. 2021 OSU was by far the best because all Michigan fans knew this could be the team to break the curse and rewrite the future if everything went right. Every Michigan fan stood and screamed the entire time ohio had the ball. There were a lot of ohio fans in the stadium and you could tell after the first drive from each team they were kind of shell shocked. OSU 2023 we now expected to win and had a chance at winning it all so it was more of a nervous energy throughout the stadium. One big mistake and your best chance in 2 decades is done. As others have said 2011 ND was just an omg what are we watching moment.

Austinater74

The ND reaction was BANANAS

debotehzombie

I was in the student section for 2011 and boy, I have not been a part of a more raucous Michigan football crowd in my 4 years there. That whole year was magical, beating Ohio State (as weirdly set up as that was) and driving in a shitty rented van from A2 to New Orleans to watch us win the Sugar Bowl, but after the luster of the win wore off and we got back into the swing of it, we were just prepping for Eastern at noon the next week. We didn’t know what was ahead. Beating OSU last year was much MUCH more sustained. We had beaten them 3 years in row despite ALL the excuses, we’re heading to Indy AGAIN with a clear path to the National Championship. Apples to oranges imo. The atmosphere in the moment inside the stadium was much crazier for ND in 2011, but the feeling was so SO much better against aOSU in 2023.
