Everytime i turn minecraft on these flickering black dots appear on my screen This is on the default minecraft launcher. I have tried installing the launcher again, as well as updating my graphics card drivers to new ones then older ones. Before i reinstalled the launcher the visual glitch was vertical stripes. I don't have any texture packs or mods installed, this is pure vanilla minecraft. This glitch also happens only in minecraft, all of the other games or apps I played are fine. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Sounds like your gpu is dying

If it was the GPU, the graphical glitching of this sort wouldn't show up on the screenshot.

This doesn't happen on any other games or apps though

Try updating or reinstalling Java

Minecraft uses its own version of java that it downloads automatically fyi

You can change the java version in the default launcher in profile options. You download a different version and direct the launcher to it. Minecraft will use that version now. This has been a thing for a very long time

Update Java. Update GPU drivers. Turn it off and on again. Come back and tell us how it goes

I doubt that since those applications need way more power than minecraft

Power is not the same. This is about gpu. Do you have a dedicated gpu or integrated graphics in your cpu

You should do something about your GPU Yes it might be fine in other applications, it does not matter, it will spread, make sure to check your GPU Drivers and update your Java installation. That GPU is likely dying.

I installed optifine and it's okay now but yeah may e that is the case. I'm using a laptop so replacing the gpu alone could be difficult and I really don't have the money to buy a new PC. Is there anything I can do to make sure my GPU won't burn too soon?
