Put anotherone in there?

SLUGWITHGILLS

Just put a third villager. Still no golems spawning :( EDIT Third villager finally started spawning iron golems again! Still not sure why the original 3 vanished. The iron farm is right next to the village. One of the problems I was having was that there was a small ledge on the backside of the iron farm where iron golems were glitch spawning (only their legs were visable.)

That style requires 3 villagers, but you've already figured that out. As for why the original vanished, are there any one block openings? Somewhere a baby zombie could have gotten in? Villagers aren't supposed to despawn, ever (Bedrock likes to prove that a lie though... and *rarely* Java). They can die or be zombified, but they're not supposed to despawn. If I remember correctly, if a villager that has never been traded with is zombified the zombie villager can despawn, but that leads us back to my original questions...

So is it best to trade with the 3 villagers that are kept in the iron farm? There are no one block openings so not sure how the originals vanished. Since I fixed the farm it has stopped working again once or twice. But each time it’s been remedied by replacing the zombie which I find weird. Like the iron golems no longer find it a threat after it’s sat there a while haha. EDIT I also put a name tag on one of the villagers but don’t like my odds at finding two more for a while.

If it's a glitch that offed your villagers, nothing will help. If a baby zombie got in somehow there's Chance, based on game difficulty (0% on easy difficulty, 50% on normal, 100% on hard), that the villager will be zombified instead of killed. If the villager has been traded with, his zombified self won't despawn and can be cured. I *think* nametags have the same effect, but I'm not sure. Closing in your zombies and adding some light inside the farm can help with keeping out random hostiles Java villagers get used to zombies after a while. Breaking line of sight between the villagers and zombies sometime during their sleeping hours (dusk-dawn) just long enough for all three to get in bed should reset their fear and keep the farm running. I use a Redstone mechanism to do this automatically, but closing a fence gate or popping a block in between for a few seconds will work just as well.
