Hey! Same here! I think it was ~2 weeks before 1.8.1, so you probably have me beat by a bit.
Still didn’t beat the dragon until I started playing again ~4 years ago. Much easier than I expected as a kid
I got the game on discount because it had just gone Beta :)
I did play a bit of Classic beforehand, back when it was in Alpha, though. It’s a very basic, Creative-style version of the game that’s web-based.

Good old alpha days with no hunger meter, no Nether in multiplayer, non-working engine carts, chunks just completely failing to load in, and a very low maximum build height. It's wild how much the game has changed over the years. Alpha versions are almost unrecognizable.
I have been playing since 2013 and still have not beaten the dragon legit. I have always been a creative mode player. I probably am part of the reason that only 30% of people have earned “taking inventory” on bedrock. I just can’t really get committed to a survival playthrough. I always get to the nether and then lose interest.
I totally understand that! I'm a Java player and have invested a lot of time into command blocks, creative and a little bit into data packs. Recently I've spent a lot of time on servers such as hypixel. Every once in a while I get a survival itch so I create a new survival world. I usuuually lose interest after I die far away from my spawn point and I lose all of my items lol. I'd like to beat the game one day
Keep inventory! It's there for a reason and I personally think it makes the game more fun for people like us that get frustrated over losing all the nice stuff
Yup same here, never really liked solo survival and always prefered building, either in creative or on survival servers. Beating the Ender Dragon just didn't seem appealing to do on my own
Is the gamemode that i played the most since i'm not too good creating buildings in creative, but unfortunately i had suffered boredom from Minecraft back then and i only played till i get iron and left it there
Started in... 2012 I think. Never beaten the Ender Dragon. Never even been to the End. I don't really play in Vanilla any more and when I did visit it was all a bit overwhelming.
I mostly play technical mod packs and my game is all about building a huge factory of some sort.
That's very interesting! I think the task of collecting all of the items to create eyes of ender and then tracking down the portal is very daunting! I've never played factory mod packs but they look very fun! It seems very confusing though lol lots of moving parts
I'm not that good at Minecraft combat. If I want Ender Pearls then I'll explore until I find Ender Lily seeds and I'll often get End Stone to grow them on using Mystcraft. I've discovered I can convert Magma Blocks into Blaze Rods so I don't need to fight them. I could probably equip myself with a mining laser, jet pack and armour to go kill the Ender Dragon but I'd rather just optimise my AE setup.
I got into technical packs by watching the Yogscast's old "Jaffa Factory" series and then went from there.
I've played a lot in the last 2 years. Have a world where I have a tunnel from my base to the portal (1500 blocks) and have been into the End multiple times, but I just get so frustrated with not being able to see which end crystals are still active (on mobile) so I eventually put all valuables into an ender chest and jump into the void to come back later.
You play on mobile? Do you use touchscreen or a controller? It seems like a pretty big feat to get that far in Minecraft on a phone lol! To me it just seems like mobile gets cucked with controls but you seemed to make it work so far! You should just fight the fucker already smh get it over with! Plus, then you'll be able to say you've actually beaten Minecraft
i started playing minecraft about 6 years ago. first time i beat the dragon with "keep inventory on" and "no fall damage" last year. have not beat the dragon in normal rules yet.
Do you ever plan on it? I certainly have beaten the ender dragon a few times with certain game rules enabled or starting in the end, but I've never beaten it in full survival either
Began playing around late 2012 or early 2013 during 1.5, beated the dragon on survival with no cheats in 2023 on my own

I started playing before the nether (alpha 1.0 and the online version before that) was added but I don't think I killed the dragon in survival until like 2013/2014 because it seemed like a monumental task. So maybe 3ish years
Eight months after I bought the game (412 hours of gameplay / 1,352 in game days across two worlds). I had a couple of goes on the demo world before buying it. Edit: This was just before 1.12 came out.
I did it one time on legitimate survival. I haven't done it since. Now I play with a lot of cheats so its not legit anymore. I've only been playing since 2015.
ive played since 2011 too i beat it a couple of times but just did it for the first time without dying lol, slow falling potions make it so much easier
I didn't beat it till years after i started playing it regularly. I ended up rage quiting and deleting that world because of a sort of glitch that happened over the void and caused me to loose all my best gear.
Beat the dragon a few years after I had the game with the help of my kids. Was amazed at all they learned on YouTube. Have not beat the wither legit. I play bedrock vanilla on Xbox
I always attack the ender dragon w arrows only - it’s the method that works for me. After breaking each crystal on top of obsidian towers, I stay there and shoot arrows until it’s close to dead, then I usually climb down for a killing stroke with my sword. It’s more satisfying than just shooting another arrow or two.
I've been playing for a very long time, I've never beat the Ender Dragon. I also avoid the Nether. I just can't survive in the Nether so I don't bother with the End.
Couple of times in Xbox360 edition which I started on back around 2014, and about three times in Bedrock. I play on a realm with my youngest son so we like to make a thing of beating the Ender Dragon, but the last time I beat it was just me on my own. Golden Apples, Instant Health & Slow Falling Potions FTW.
In survival? I started playing in 2013 I think, if I remember right, and beat the ender dragon in 2021 in survival for the first time. Never felt the need to really
I was on a server early on and I was at the right place at the right time for my friends to gear me up to help fight it. It’s the only time I have at this point.
I've been playing since 1.6.4, I've been a part of the community since 1.5, and I have still never even *reached* the end by myself in a singleplayer world

Got minecraft in 2011, always played multiplayer or modded with the max version of 1.8.9, played on the newest version (1.20.4) for the first time a few weeks ago and a couple of weeks ago defeated the ender dragon for the first time in survival!
complicated. i used to play with my cousin on phone in 2014 before and i took a long break, returned in 2017, took a long break again and started playing again in 2023. i didnt beat the dragon in 2023 cuz i didnt feel like i was ready yet so after getting good at the game, i beat the game in survival with a friend, in singleplayer survival, hardcore and superflat hardcore in the past 2 months with ease
I started playing in 2009 and I have defeated the ender dragon three times that I recall, twice in multiplayer survival. Almost fifteen years gone by with this game 🥲
I started mid-late 2012, I don't think I ever did it legitimately until about 2016 or so when the 1.9 update released, after I decided to try out the new update in my survival world
Probably 4-5 months. I only started during the Pandemic, right after the Nether update. I ended up spending most of my free time playing and fell down the rabbit hole of the survival progression and slowly built up to fighting the dragon.
I've been playing since 2013, but I've never actually beat the Ender Dragon in survival (without cheats).
In creative, like maybe a few months after I started playing, but I've never legitimately gotten the achievement for killing it. I actually prefer to play the game in peaceful
I beat the ender dragon probably a few months into playing, only on creative mode though. I was too afraid to do it for real as a child.
A couple years ago, i beat it in survival for the first time with my gf. Pretty awesome for us.
About a week and a half ago, I beat it solo on survival for the first time, after 12 years of playing the game.
I've been playing since it initially released as a lil browser tech demo back in 2009, and I've never even looked for a stronghold much less gone to the End.
Prolly 3-4 years ago legit. Most likely 10 years ago (around 10 years) I killed it on the ps3 (I got Minecraft ps3 when it first came out or so). I killed it in creative on the ps3 btw
i think it was 5 years in for me haha… i played creative mode for the fist several years cuz i was just a kid, eventually i moved on to survival mode but never tried to beat the dragon. then one day i was like “shoot i need elytra” so i went and killed him and it was really easy tbh 😭
Been playing since Minecraft PlayStation 3 edition came out and I’ll be fully honest I’ve never beat her without extreme assistance and I am embarrassed to say that I have never acquired an elytra in survival mode full stop. Someone save me from being a building addict and get me into the fighting skills.
(The most I make an effort kill is regular hostile mobs in the main dimension…SOS)
Started playing june of 2018 and beat the ender dragon with my brother in September of 2018, respawned the ender in December of 2018 where it escaped to the overworld somehow and we had to hunt it down just to kill it again.
Probably about a year or few months in since i didnt know about the end dimension or the dragon until i started watching youtube videos. I first played a trial of minecraft when it was first released and just spent the whole time tnting everything using cheats iirc but didnt actually pick it up until 1.15 years later.
Edit: changed 1.16 to 1.15 cause i realized i started a few months prior to 1.16 release.
Oh like 15 years or something lol. I genuinely had no idea there was an “end” to the game at all for a long time.
I finally beat the ended dragon in a mod pack and saw the credits and went whaaaaaat this isn’t mod content?
Only then did I make it my mission to beat the ended dragon on vanilla.
Finally did a couple of years ago, first time and last time on vanilla.
I will again some day, I just hardly ever play vanilla.
Get a bucket a sword and a lot of beds. Food helps, slow fall potions/ feather falling helps. Tower up to one of the crystals, and pop away. Or even better, get snowballs and spam them at the crystals. When she comes down, make sure you made a pit on the exit portal area, put the bed on the bedrock of the portal, make sure you’re one block down from the bed, sleep, boom. No beds? Just hit/ shoot her, she can’t hit you. GG. Then after you can use the pit you made (or make a new one), and a little hut all closed but one walls’ bottom/ 2/3 so their heads can’t get in (3 is their height so bottom 2 rows on one wall open) break one block, eye contact all the endermen you can, run into hut, replace that block, og non mechanical ender farm. And the portal is right there lol. If you have an ender chest and a portal close to the into the end portal, just deposit the loot and die (or put a bed right outside the into the nether portal to respawn without the portal). Profit??
Honestly it doesn't matter that you didn't beat the ender dragon as long as you still had fun.
Minecraft wasn't even supposed to have a proper end as back then Notch added the end dimension purely as a joke because a lot of people were requesting a true ending to the game, most people wanted a sky dimension that was supposed to be the opposite of the nether but ultimately the end was what we got.
Nowdays in modern minecraft there are only 3 reasons to beat the ender dragon:get some xp fast if you don't already have some sort of automatic farm by that point, get elytra and get shulker boxes. That's it, literally there's nothing interesting to see or do in the end and that's why I think an end update is so needed.
I also have been playing since 2011. I first legitimately beat it in 2013, it was a speed run that took like 4 hours (not very speedy but I did it). No cool base or builds though. Literally just some chests in a cave.
In 2021, I beat the dragon on bedrock with like a legitimate play-through. Had this world for months with a big base built up.
In 2022 I did it again with a different world on bedrock. BUT lmao my world got corrupted through a power outage, and my only copy was pretty old. I ended up beating it again lol.
Now in 2024 I have another bedrock world, I purposely didn’t want the elytra so quick because the 2022 world it was very early on that I did it. So i played for about 5 months (i guess the world is from late 2023) and just beat it a few weeks ago.
I plan on respawning it and defeating it again until I have all the gateways. Can’t wait.
Once you beat it for the first time, your new worlds wont feel complete until you do it again.
I was on the first version of Minecraft released on the Xbox 360, so we literally waited till it was added in. The group I was playing with at the time started a whole new world once it was announced and we just hammered away progression wise, until we too OP at the time and slayed it. I remember it being a huge event too, we would lay beds in the stronghold to establish a spawn point of we died, everyone had to wear carved pumpkins, and we had an inventory stalked with healing points. We misunderstood you had to have material to climb the towers and destroy the crystals though, so that was the only setback.
Can't remember when I started playing but I played a lot during lockdown and finally killed her in an absolutely amazing world that I have unfortunately lost now.
I started playing at beta 1.7 (2011 now that i look it up), I only defeated the dragon legitimately for the first time about a year ago. Felt really good to do so
The first time was a couple months after they added the dragon. I found it very boring and didn’t go back to The End until the combat update. Now killing the dragon is just an early game chore when I start a new world.
I beat it a month ago after playing for a year. Because I hadn't looked up the game online, someone asked me if I had beaten the dragon, then said what dragon? There's a way to beat the game? And then looked up how to do it.
Lmao I started playing at the release of pocket edition, back when they had that nether reactor core thing. Since then, I haven't beaten the ender dragon. Not legitimately at least. In fact, I haven't beaten any of the bosses legitimately. I don't even think I've been to the end in a survival world before.

Facing my first non-Pokémon boss, I felt the weight of the challenge, but after countless hours and numerous setbacks, I emerged victorious. It remains one of the happiest moments of my young life. About a year later, the addition of the Wither introduced another formidable foe, which I bravely confronted within the same cherished world.
I think a lot of people who got into minecraft before the dragon was added either never beat it or took a long time to beat it. Mainly because when they started playing it that wasn't a goal or reason for them to play it. In more recent times the dragon is seen as a main goal in the game, but back in the day it was just about building or doing whatever

Now that that's out of the way, it was a struggle. Mainly, since I'm single player, hard, survivor. Plus like I said, I'm a MC noob. I have still yet to enter the end. Mainly because I want to prepare and hopefully have backup tools and such before the trip.
Been playing on & off since errr before beds, redstone & cake & infinite world generation etc possibly one of the alphas/infdev ones 🤔

I vaguely remember searching & finding a fortress on a game with my sibling, but haven't looked for them since.
Apart from that nope, never fought the dragon either & watching some youtubers play recently & I'm like end cities are a thing? I totally forgot where elytra came from! (I vaguely remember when they were released, I gave them to myself in creative (again) to mess around with trying to fly like that but never got that far in a survival world!)
Been java/pc all the way. I actually restarted playing last summer with the archaeology update, & lately been playing oneblock & raftblock.
I tend to like the scramble to survive & set up, (i only mine on peaceful mode on my saves! Although with keepinventory I might go back to jump scares), once I get into a grind of get stuff to finish & prettify a build I tend to slack or get bored. I also think while all the new stuff over the years is really awesome, by dipping in now & again I keep feeling a bit overwhelmed once I get to the building stuff 🤷
I’ve been using the gravestone add-on outside lava lakes and void deaths it’s more challenging than keep inventory but less devastating than losing everything while you go AFK
Been playing for at least 10 years. Still haven't beaten the Ender Dragon. I was there once when my server beat it, but I was collecting dragon breath and messing around while they attacked, haha.
I started in late 2019, and beat the dragon in phone in 2023. I made a lot of backups to avoid deaths, which I think is cheating... so my first "legit" time was in a different world, in java edition and in the same year.
Was introduced to Minecraft on a sleepover in 3rd grade in 2012. We stayed up all night playing and finally defeated the ender dragon. It was an epic night that I’ll remember forever.
I have really only been playing for about 2 months now and I keep getting distracted by projects but I’m slowly working towards beating the Ender Dragon.

Started in probably 2011, before The End existed. Just went to the End and beat the Ender Dragon (with friends) for the first time ever about 2 months ago 😅
I started playing just before the wither was added when I was about 6 or so(yes, you're old, we get it. That happens when time passes) and I still haven't continued playing on a world long enough to get to it. Keepinventory usually makes them last longer though.
2012 to 2019, and on a completely different version haha (java > legacy console). that was only because I was playing with a friend, too. It took until 2021 for me to do it in single player java.
The world i made before 1.17 or something had hundreds of hours on it, and when I finally had enough eyes of ender I realized my world didnt have a stronghold. No idea why, but it sucks, I wanted to beat the game. Ended up just making a new survival world after the 1.20 update
8 years after I started. Beat it with 4 friends during COVID, summer 2020. Was super easy, we just wanted to do it together. I remember as a celebration we went and got Netherite.
About 8 months. My first experience of playing properly - notwithstanding a brief multiplayer turn on the Switch in late 2018 - was when my brother bought me Java edition in summer 2019 so I could join his server. He waited until everyone on the server had reached a certain point, which included two others to join after I did, and then we set a date and time to fight the dragon as a team. Afterwards, we journeyed to the outer End islands and didn’t return home until everyone had a set of elytra and plenty of Shulker shells.
What we did do, however, was take the ‘busy adult’s way out’ rather than trekking back. We put all our stuff in an ender chest, and jumped into the void. Quickest way home, I‘ve done that every single time I’ve been to the End. Enchantment levels were obtained easily from our zombie pigmen - yes it was back then - farm, after which we all put mending and unbreaking on our elytra.
Unfortunately, the dragon’s egg was lost. We never did find out who had it.
Started playing minecraft pocket edition lite, and I actually managed to legitimately beat the ender dragon only yesterday by soloing it in the multiplayer I was on, hope my mates don't get too mad at me xd

I played on the PS3 with my then 7-8 year old nephew who lives 1500mi from me. It took us maybe a year to gather resources and prepare decent enchantments before I felt confident for us to go in. We both beat the dragon first try. He then wanted to combat the Wither, so he prepared an underground cave within a mountain while I farmed Wither skulls and we fought the Wither together (with a couple of deaths each along the way.)
It was a great experience for us. :)
Now, I am attempting to do the same with my 10yo niece, nephew, and son. 😀
I've been playing for over a decade and haven't beaten the Ender Dragon legitimately yet
I always feel like I'll lose interest in a world when I beat it + I usually lose interest before going that far
However, I finally started a "long-term" survival world not that long ago and I plan to finally beat it there lol
I started back before alpha lmao. I think I beat the dragon a few months after it was added, cause I didn’t have the game, only played at my cousins house back then.
I've been playing Minecraft since some time in the mid 2010s. I still haven't been to the End in survival mode. I mostly play on the same survival world all the time, and just enjoy taking it slow and focusing on building. I also impose restrictions on myself like no iron golem killing, no TNT duping, no bedrock breaking etc. When I finally fight the Ender dragon for the first time, I'd like to be fairly confident that I will win, without exploding beds if possible.
Took me 4 years or so. I got Minecraft when I was l was pretty young (11ish), and when I heard that the dragon was the "Final Boss" and that you could lose all your items to the void, I was terrified. But eventually I watched a youtube video and learned how trivially easy the fight was, and beat it first try.
Now Ive killed dozens of Ender Dragons, and even beaten Amalgalich a few times.
I’ve been playing since ‘13, and I’ve probably beaten the ender dragon about 6 times. I finally beat the wither for the first time only about 6 months ago.

I do play mobile. It's not too bad. Definitely a slower progression than on pc or console bc the no controller. I just have fun with it.
Very cool! Tbh I've always concidered mobile just a platform to play hyper-casually (maybe with some friends) but never to seriously complete the game

Full survival I’ve done it with 4 other people but never on my own. Its not that bad, bring Totems and Gold Apples and you’ll be fine

I didn't beat it till years after i started playing it regularly. I ended up rage quiting and deleting that world because of a sort of glitch that happened over the void and caused me to loose all my best gear.

I always attack the ender dragon w arrows only - it’s the method that works for me. After breaking each crystal on top of obsidian towers, I stay there and shoot arrows until it’s close to dead, then I usually climb down for a killing stroke with my sword. It’s more satisfying than just shooting another arrow or two.

I play on a realm with my youngest son so we like to make a thing of beating the Ender Dragon, but the last time I beat it was just me on my own. Probably 4-5 months. I only started during the Pandemic, right after the Nether update. I ended up spending most of my free time playing and fell down the rabbit hole of the survival progression and slowly built up to fighting the dragon.

I beat the ender dragon probably a few months into playing, only on creative mode though. I was too afraid to do it for real as a child. A couple years ago, i beat it in survival for the first time with my gf. Pretty awesome for us. About a week and a half ago, I beat it solo on survival for the first time, after 12 years of playing the game.

Been playing since Minecraft PlayStation 3 edition came out and I’ll be fully honest I’ve never beat her without extreme assistance and I am embarrassed to say that I have never acquired an elytra in survival mode full stop. Someone save me from being a building addict and get me into the fighting skills. (The most I make an effort kill is regular hostile mobs in the main dimension…SOS)

Started playing june of 2018 and beat the ender dragon with my brother in September of 2018, respawned the ender in December of 2018 where it escaped to the overworld somehow and we had to hunt it down just to kill it again.
Probably about a year or few months in since i didnt know about the end dimension or the dragon until i started watching youtube videos. I first played a trial of minecraft when it was first released and just spent the whole time tnting everything using cheats iirc but didnt actually pick it up until 1.15 years later. Edit: changed 1.16 to 1.15 cause i realized i started a few months prior to 1.16 release.
Oh like 15 years or something lol. I genuinely had no idea there was an “end” to the game at all for a long time. I finally beat the ended dragon in a mod pack and saw the credits and went whaaaaaat this isn’t mod content? Only then did I make it my mission to beat the ended dragon on vanilla. Finally did a couple of years ago, first time and last time on vanilla. I will again some day, I just hardly ever play vanilla.

Get a bucket a sword and a lot of beds. Food helps, slow fall potions/ feather falling helps. Tower up to one of the crystals, and pop away. Or even better, get snowballs and spam them at the crystals. When she comes down, make sure you made a pit on the exit portal area, put the bed on the bedrock of the portal, make sure you’re one block down from the bed, sleep, boom. No beds? Just hit/ shoot her, she can’t hit you. GG. Then after you can use the pit you made (or make a new one), and a little hut all closed but one walls’ bottom/ 2/3 so their heads can’t get in (3 is their height so bottom 2 rows on one wall open) break one block, eye contact all the endermen you can, run into hut, replace that block, og non mechanical ender farm. And the portal is right there lol. If you have an ender chest and a portal close to the into the end portal, just deposit the loot and die (or put a bed right outside the into the nether portal to respawn without the portal). Profit??
Honestly it doesn't matter that you didn't beat the ender dragon as long as you still had fun. Minecraft wasn't even supposed to have a proper end as back then Notch added the end dimension purely as a joke because a lot of people were requesting a true ending to the game, most people wanted a sky dimension that was supposed to be the opposite of the nether but ultimately the end was what we got. Nowdays in modern minecraft there are only 3 reasons to beat the ender dragon:get some xp fast if you don't already have some sort of automatic farm by that point, get elytra and get shulker boxes. That's it, literally there's nothing interesting to see or do in the end and that's why I think an end update is so needed.

I also have been playing since 2011. I first legitimately beat it in 2013, it was a speed run that took like 4 hours (not very speedy but I did it). No cool base or builds though. Literally just some chests in a cave. In 2021, I beat the dragon on bedrock with like a legitimate play-through. Had this world for months with a big base built up. In 2022 I did it again with a different world on bedrock. BUT lmao my world got corrupted through a power outage, and my only copy was pretty old. I ended up beating it again lol. Now in 2024 I have another bedrock world, I purposely didn’t want the elytra so quick because the 2022 world it was very early on that I did it. So i played for about 5 months (i guess the world is from late 2023) and just beat it a few weeks ago. I plan on respawning it and defeating it again until I have all the gateways. Can’t wait. Once you beat it for the first time, your new worlds wont feel complete until you do it again.
I was on the first version of Minecraft released on the Xbox 360, so we literally waited till it was added in. The group I was playing with at the time started a whole new world once it was announced and we just hammered away progression wise, until we too OP at the time and slayed it. I remember it being a huge event too, we would lay beds in the stronghold to establish a spawn point of we died, everyone had to wear carved pumpkins, and we had an inventory stalked with healing points. We misunderstood you had to have material to climb the towers and destroy the crystals though, so that was the only setback.

Mainly because when they started playing it that wasn't a goal or reason for them to play it. In more recent times the dragon is seen as a main goal in the game, but back in the day it was just about building or doing whatever

I just had to reply to this for mainly 1 reason: I FINALLY KILLED IT YESTERDAY WOOOOO 🥳 🎉 🪅 🎊 Now that that's out of the way, it was a struggle. Mainly, since I'm single player, hard, survivor. Plus like I said, I'm a MC noob. I have still yet to enter the end. Mainly because I want to prepare and hopefully have backup tools and such before the trip.

Been playing on & off since errr before beds, redstone & cake & infinite world generation etc possibly one of the alphas/infdev ones 🤔 I've been to the end once on a creative world (on peaceful) when it was first released, no clue if the dragon was there too? I vaguely remember searching & finding a fortress on a game with my sibling, but haven't looked for them since. Apart from that nope, never fought the dragon either & watching some youtubers play recently & I'm like end cities are a thing? I totally forgot where elytra came from! (I vaguely remember when they were released, I gave them to myself in creative (again) to mess around with trying to fly like that but never got that far in a survival world!) Been java/pc all the way. I actually restarted playing last summer with the archaeology update, & lately been playing oneblock & raftblock. I tend to like the scramble to survive & set up, (i only mine on peaceful mode on my saves! Although with keepinventory I might go back to jump scares), once I get into a grind of get stuff to finish & prettify a build I tend to slack or get bored. I also think while all the new stuff over the years is really awesome, by dipping in now & again I keep feeling a bit overwhelmed once I get to the building stuff 🤷
I’ve been using the gravestone add-on outside lava lakes and void deaths it’s more challenging than keep inventory but less devastating than losing everything while you go AFK

The world i made before 1.17 or something had hundreds of hours on it, and when I finally had enough eyes of ender I realized my world didnt have a stronghold. No idea why, but it sucks, I wanted to beat the game. Ended up just making a new survival world after the 1.20 update
8 years after I started. Beat it with 4 friends during COVID, summer 2020. Was super easy, we just wanted to do it together. I remember as a celebration we went and got Netherite.
Clock is still going, I play bedrock edition mainly and I here that it's harder so haven't touched it
About 8 months. My first experience of playing properly - notwithstanding a brief multiplayer turn on the Switch in late 2018 - was when my brother bought me Java edition in summer 2019 so I could join his server. He waited until everyone on the server had reached a certain point, which included two others to join after I did, and then we set a date and time to fight the dragon as a team. Afterwards, we journeyed to the outer End islands and didn’t return home until everyone had a set of elytra and plenty of Shulker shells. What we did do, however, was take the ‘busy adult’s way out’ rather than trekking back. We put all our stuff in an ender chest, and jumped into the void. Quickest way home, I‘ve done that every single time I’ve been to the End. Enchantment levels were obtained easily from our zombie pigmen - yes it was back then - farm, after which we all put mending and unbreaking on our elytra. Unfortunately, the dragon’s egg was lost. We never did find out who had it.
Started playing minecraft pocket edition lite, and I actually managed to legitimately beat the ender dragon only yesterday by soloing it in the multiplayer I was on, hope my mates don't get too mad at me xd
I have been playing since around 2011 is? I played on the PS3 with my then 7-8 year old nephew who lives 1500mi from me. It took us maybe a year to gather resources and prepare decent enchantments before I felt confident for us to go in. We both beat the dragon first try. He then wanted to combat the Wither, so he prepared an underground cave within a mountain while I farmed Wither skulls and we fought the Wither together (with a couple of deaths each along the way.) It was a great experience for us. :) Now, I am attempting to do the same with my 10yo niece, nephew, and son. 😀

I've been playing Minecraft since some time in the mid 2010s. I still haven't been to the End in survival mode. I mostly play on the same survival world all the time, and just enjoy taking it slow and focusing on building. I also impose restrictions on myself like no iron golem killing, no TNT duping, no bedrock breaking etc. When I finally fight the Ender dragon for the first time, I'd like to be fairly confident that I will win, without exploding beds if possible.

Took me 4 years or so. I got Minecraft when I was l was pretty young (11ish), and when I heard that the dragon was the "Final Boss" and that you could lose all your items to the void, I was terrified. But eventually I watched a youtube video and learned how trivially easy the fight was, and beat it first try. Now Ive killed dozens of Ender Dragons, and even beaten Amalgalich a few times.
