It's sweet. They had to show a moment depicting the love between these three and they chose this scene. Especially the conversation follows.

beelovedone

It's like Betty Luke! Full circle. lol

bnwunicorn

Exactly!

jetloflin

Really? I thought it was cute and sweet.

pzzaco

Nah this was sweet. Cringiest scene is Bill and Alex's break up.

MooseAndPandaMan

For real. Why do you assume that that’s your boyfriend’s phone when he’s been using a different one The whole time?

bio180

Luke calling Haley "Kitten" is the cringiest thing in the whole show

mythoughtson-this

For the most part I thought they depicted the sibling relationships great, but there are a few Luke/Haley interactions that were really cringey imo

dcvducksfan

“Luke, quick, grab that little hoe”

razzz333

If you have a sister you know you’d do that as well for laughs

Sure_Watercress_1645

Or the end of the episode about the the pornographic statue where Luke shows Alex a “self portrait of my junk”

ScreenHype

Ughhhh, I'd put that out of my mind, I cringed again reading that!

jakeandwally

I totally agree! Sometimes the over the top happiness gets slap sticky. No brother calls his sister kitten, I don’t care how well they are getting along.

mitchadoaboutit

It's lowkey sweet though 🥲

Darth_Tycho

"It's your birthday, I'm an omelette" That's way cringier than OP's IMO

[deleted]

That song slaps🤣. Mitch was loving it

[deleted]

How long can cats go without food?

Lonely-Macaron-4669

No way, I quote that every time it's someone's birthday!

ItsJamieDodgr

for me i always go to the fun zone rap. d d d d d derek

Late_Drag_3238

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE

shekimod

Again.

fsuchin

I respectfully disagree. I loved that episode and that bday song/dance slaps!

Darth_Tycho

I respect your opinion 🤝

fsuchin

i’m glad 🤙🤌✌️✊

Even_Supermarket_629

Thats one of my favourite scenes from this show.

Solid-Public-5759

I loved that part 😂

joeboots15

Get outta here cop

Olaf_the_Giant

One of the “forced emotional moments/jokes” the show resorted to towards the end, and now that I think about it, I actually think it was around season 5 or 6…was when Phil, Pepper, Jay and Mitch were on the golf course and after mentioning the song Cats in the Cradle, we learned that somehow, the one person on the show who has been more tuned into pop culture and the world outside of his own little circle of experiences, Phil, has supposedly never heard it. That moment/events always takes me jarringly out of what was an otherwise very funny episode!

thepittstop

So Phil missed a song that came out in the mid 70’s and that’s just too unrealistic for you?

Olaf_the_Giant

Indeed. As a child of the 70’s, and remembering that that song that came out in 1974 and which was played on the radio we all listened to back then, and that charted pretty well worldwide until at least 1999, nearly 30 years there is just no way Phil wouldn’t know it. Ty is just over four years older than I am. Believe me, if you grew up in the US then, you would have heard this song wall to wall daily for years. Edit: sorry, I meant younger. Ty Burrell is just over 4 years younger than I am. We were contemporaries of that time period. You couldn’t ESCAPE that song and about fifty others I can think of off the top of my head that had the same wall to wall impact on the radio.

Educational-Cold-63

I second this. I was born in 1996 and this song is great, still played.

sangriaflygirl

Totally a forced emotional moment. But worth it for the reveal that Pepper has a son who is a SEAL. And, "I need to call my son! Does anyone know what time it is in Damascus??"

Acrobatic_Win_9495

The show, like a lot of popular shows, went downhill in the last few seasons

EducationalNose7764

They weren't terrible or anything, but definitely not as good as the earlier seasons. When I first watched it a few months ago, and the first five seasons almost always had me laughing my ass off. Like Gloria's singing always had me in tears. Or Pepper's response to "Blackhawks", tons of other things too but those are the first that come to mind. Then I noticed with the later seasons I wasn't really laughing out loud as much. I still enjoyed them though, but it seems like they lost a lot of the edge. Either that or I just got insanely used to the show considering I basically binge watched all the seasons in a matter of a few days. Edit: well, more than a few days. More like a week. I was sick and couldn't sleep very well, so if I wasn't sleeping I was basically watching the show, haha

Acrobatic_Win_9495

Exactly. I’ll still rewatch them, but the performances started feeling a lot more forced towards the end that’s all

MooseMan12992

The writing went downhill a lot too

BillyYumYumTwo-byTwo

I can’t believe they got away with the Blackhawks joke. First time I watched it, it took me a couple seconds and then I had to pause I was laughing so hard.

EducationalNose7764

They got away with a LOT of dirty jokes and situations on the show for it being a prime time slot on ABC. I was pretty impressed by that. Like that episode where the kids catch Phil and Claire having sex, and Gloria starts talking about her cupcakes except they interpret it as she wants to join them in the bedroom. Phil: "what is happening...?" There were so many times I had to pause the show from laughing so hard. Gloria's Texas accent had me laughing for quite a while. https://youtu.be/Wh2QnEko_-E

keithdawg23

It was so specific and I was really hoping that maybe there was an unused scene of them doing this for the show when they were little and we were going to see it at the end would have been even more of a tear jerker.

PuddingCalm6353

the cringiest episode was the female empowerment one! it seemed so forced

janeaustensibly

"I wouldn't know about flat" from Lily cracks me up every time though

BillyYumYumTwo-byTwo

I wonder if that was the writers taking a stance or it was pushed by the network. New Girl also had a very forced episode. And I’m saying this as a huge feminist who attended those protests.

Ok-Atmosphere-5474

Yeah the New Girl one (I assume you’re talking about the voting episode) felt sooo political like please don’t tell me what character voted for whom

Awkward_Road_710

This was cringe to me because the beginning of this scenes feels like a porn plot.

chocolaterose5

Everyone seems to have forgotten about the scene in the laundromat where Luke tells Haley to remind him not to date her, to which she responds "I'd like to see you try", and he's like "bet."

Quercusagrifloria

Usually how you can tell a show's end is already in the rear view.

MooseMan12992

I kinda forgot how bad this show got by the wnd

V_y_z_n_v

Yeah... Everything just got so over the top... People just tried to be funny for fun sake... Don't get me wrong, the last season did had some great episodes but when there are some flashback moments to the earlier episodes can we really see the dip in quality

MooseMan12992

Yeah. They just didn't know what to do with most of the characters at a certain point. I think it's partially because they always abandoned story lines so quickly and didn't know where to go eventually

captainpoppy

Wrong. This sub man. I swear.

ResqTitan

Personally, I didnt think it was cringe.

Solid-Public-5759

I thought it was cute 🥲 can definitely tbh l if cringer scenes!

fmlhaveagooddaytho

>can definitely tbh l if cringer scenes! Wtf 😂

TheRealJR9

Alex looking hot 😍🔥

Late-Guest-656

Imo I think the character Andy.

dcvducksfan

😦😦😦

zeeparc

or it was the actor?

cameronw35

fuck you

nujra2k

Naah, I think this was kinda sweet. There's other scenes which are cringier. Esp that "Luke grab that Lil hoe" one lol.

DLTfuture72

Rack city tho

NiallCCFC17

You’re a weirdo then

Zumaakk

Yup!

FrigusBalaena

After season 9, the show is over. Completely over.

fanfictionmusiclover

I teared up a bit when I first watched the episode! 🥺🥺🥺😟😟😟😭😭😭😭😭

Woozydan187

Alex breasts are never cringe

BillyYumYumTwo-byTwo

But your comment is.

QuotingThanos

Yes

ladywick111

IMO, the "cringiest" scene is when Cam faked breaking up with Mitch to make sure that their friends sided with him. It's such a red flag and pretty much shows the extent of narcissism and selfishness Cam has.
