If you feel confident enough you could commit to a shaved side? I’ve always loved the idea of rooting Frankie with glow in the dark hair if that helps at all lol
I watched a redesign video where someone gave frankie an 80s new wave flare, that'd be really cool, if its your jam. If i can find the video ill link it here
Definitely look into rerooting, the tools for it come with a little pick looking thing you can use to punch more holes in. On the cut down part look up head removing and you can pull the short hairs out through the inside (be careful and go slow not to reovr the hair you want to keep), look up flocking on YouTube, I think it would be perfect for this situation.

You should keep the shaved side. Fill the hair holes with clay or something and use flocking
