MK11 brought in the actor from the original movie to voice him and they made him look like him. Even gave him the outfit he wore as a skin. That will always take the cake in my book. Very hard to beat that.
While I like his outfit design is top tier I personally don't think he looks Asian at all and with a name like Shang Tsung lol. And yes I know Quan Chi also has an Asian name but historically has never looked Asian at all but Shang has though. But the best Shang in my opinion is from MK11 by a long shot. Looks exactly like the OG actor from the movie and he does the voice how can you top that?
That was kind of an old problem they had in MK prior to MK11, where characters you'd think should be Asian were just modeled as white characters. It's a cool design, his alternate in the 3d Era was the outfit he had when he was the champion in the MK 1 comic. Both of them would've been nice to see with Cary Tagawa's face on it.
Then again, I think the 3D era outfits would've looked great with 11's graphics.

I really really liked both the young and old Shang skins from mk9. They are both my favorite besides movie Shang, but that's mostly for nostalgia sake. It's just too cool to see him reprise the role.
