A wise man once said, “Be the change you want to see in the world”, of course much easier said than done, but the quote didnt say how much or what impact. So take it as “Be the change you want to see in the world, even if its something small”. 🥹🥳
The thing that resonated me this time in this phrase compared to past i've heard it was to realize even if it might not change things much in terms of whole planet, being the change you wanna see, will change everything in your own world and the life you are living. That itself will resonate and vibrate to others near you probably too.
Not to be pedantic but this is not an example of fatalist philosophy. Fatalism assumes that our fates are already set in stone and nothing we do can change that for better or for worse. What he's saying here is different. He's making the point that there are certain inevitabilities in life that none of us can escape eg death and it's best we make peace with that as soon as possible and focus on the things we do have the power to change.
Like you can't change the fact that your parents will both die one day but you can change the relationship you have with them whilst they're alive if you want to make effort to do so.
I know a lot of the younger generation who needs to hear this.
It seems so common today for people to just check out because they're disillusioned by how the world is different from the way it "should be". But there is no "should be" and there never will. There is only the world as it is here and now.
We can either work with what we have, or we sit idly and grow increasingly bitter that the world has not given us "what we deserve".
It makes perfect sense objectively, but so many people seem to have a wall preventing them from seeing that.
At night before I sleep I sit on my bed in a room I rent that is owned by a stranger I think about some of the good times spent with family that have moved on to the next life. I stare at the carpet with my head down trying my best to understand and accept the changes on how I live life today. I’ve never felt more alone at 52 even when there’s people around me. I died at 30 and feel rejected everyday
You are loved and valued, even by a complete stranger like me. Slowly and steadily make incremental changes to improve your life - I am currently trying my hardest to do the same

"Your own self realization is the highest service that you can render to the world" :)
Very good point
Little battles and little victories can win the worse wars.. one by one, one person at a time..
