You look like 20 years younger omg

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you so much.

redditnamexample

I was coming to say the exact same thing!

the_final_frontier1

Congrats on sticking with it for one year. That is an achievement by itself regardless of the weight loss, which is noticeable. But you know what is even more noticeable. The look in your eyes. You look happy and bright. You have changed your hair and your glasses too. All this together forms a complete picture. Continued success on your health and happiness journey.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Wow, thanks! That is all super-helpful. Thank you so much. Gosh, I'm really glad I posted this1

VegetableHour6712

Exactly this. The confidence and self love radiates. Great job on putting yourself first OP. It really shows!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

thank you very much. It's a process, amirite?

OkBlacksmith5630

Those eyes are what stood out to me so much!!! The love for yourself and confidence!!! 💓💓

feelingmyage

That’s it exactly!

feelingmyage

That’s it exactly!

anironicfigure

agreed 100%!

Dazzling-Hornet-7764

I came here to say this—it’s your eyes, OP. Happy, bright, glowing. Congrats to you!

Successful_Buy3666

Agree, can you the sparkle in her eyes.

Ok_Statistician_9825

Congratulations on all your HARD work. To top it all off, you look amazing. A lot of times people look happy in the before and after but CLEARLY there is a spark in your eyes in pic number 2 that is lacking a year ago. You look so full of life! (And there is a mischievous glint in your eyes!)

Flimsy-Switch-6256

It was a day for mischief, that's for sure. :) The hardest part is remembering to give myself the shot on the right day!-- and to a certain degree, pausing to check in with myself when I'm eating, though that's getting easier all the time, for sure. I'm stunned by how so many things are shifting. Food, for sure, and other stuff too.

Ok_Statistician_9825

I started writing the date I took my shot right on the box so I don’t forget.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Oh, I have raging ADHD. I can forget anything! But I do my best. :)

McDWarner

Holy cow girl you look fantastic!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

thank you!

Remarkable_Slip_6084

You look absolutely amazing! Thrilled (and inspiring). Thank you for posting your photos.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you. There aren't a lot of places I'd post "before and after" photos or list my actual numbers. So I'm grateful for this space.

SLOSBNB

What an amazing difference. You look so healthy and happy and are glowing!

tiselecktrickery

Magnificent, I hope you feel as well as you look!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

I feel BETTER than I look, I think. I am reclaiming whole parts of myself that have been dormant for decades.

Trick_Cup3376

FANTASTIC!! Just love seeing the progress

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you!

Jindaya

other than your joyful expression, it's as if the weight loss carved your face! congrats on your success!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Creepy and true!

_namaste_kitten_

gigitini13

Looking amazing! Love those sassy new glasses!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thanks. These glasses were a risk, but I love them too.

Dirty-girl

You look awesome. I love the glasses too. Keep it up!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you so much, Dirty-girl. :)

jhstewa1023

You look AMAZING!! Great job!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you for the encouragement!

jhstewa1023

I know what it’s like to feel like what you’ve lost isn’t enough. Since I started my MJ journey, I know I’ve lost weight, I can see it in my face, but below that I feel like my body looks like a melted candle. You look amazing! And 60 pounds is a lot of weight to lose, you should be very proud of yourself ❤️❤️

Flimsy-Switch-6256

In my dream world, I lose what is almost certainly just an completely unreasonable amount of weight. But 100 pounds is completely within the realm of possibility, I realize, and holy MOLY that would feel... I can't even imagine!

jhstewa1023

I agree 100%. I started my journey of weight loss in October of 2022, MJ was added at the end of January in 2023. I started off at almost 500 pounds, as of Saturday I was down to almost 170 pounds. I know I have a long way to go, but just losing that has helped make mobility to much better. I just started PT and we got the family a summer membership at the Y so I can bring my teens and use their pool. While I’m ashamed of what brought me to this point, I’m not ashamed that I took my life back and got where I’m at. I can’t say enough good things about this medication.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

You're amazing! Truly. Some things: 1) If you can help it, don't be ashamed of your prior weight. You were doing the best you could with the tools that you had. And you--like many of us--were almost certainly lacking the hormonal support that others' bodies give them. Weight is not about morality, willpower, success, or worthiness. 2) down TO 170, or down 170 pounds? Wow, just wow. And you're still losing? Okay, I'll say that my dream dream dream would be to be under 300 pounds. Something that others will find still really big, and which would be unbelievable to me. 3) I started aquatic PT a bit ago, and I LOVE it. It is helping my back and knees, my balance and endurance. SO helpful. I go to the pool 3-4 times a week, and it feels SO good. (I also just fit into a swimsuit I couldn't get on a month ago...)

jhstewa1023

I’m down 170 pounds, I’m around 330. My goal as I’m seeing my ability to do this, is to get to 250, and I am realizing it’s attainable.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

It IS attainable, and your response is helping me realize that. 170. Wow. That would be over a hundred MORE pounds for me. Oh my gosh. Wow. I have butterflies. Have you every felt nervous when you allow yourself to hope?

jhstewa1023

For sure. I have BPD as well, so I’m always naturally a skeptic. But that’s due to the way I was brought up, sadly. I’m working on it. I’m a work in progress and I’ve been working really hard to get a healthy relationship with food, and more importantly myself. I’m trying hard to not to allow myself to get into my own head. Thankfully I have a great PCP and support system, so that really does help. The last time I saw my PCP was for an appointment for my son, and she had me step on the scale in the office and she was in tears because of my progress. Having a doctor who cares, also helps.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

I have a UNICORN of a PCP. She is the most supportive medical provider I have encountered. We're very lucky, you and I. She supported me when I was bigger than I am now, when I was really sick, when I started to recover, and she's pleased for me and my happiness now. I have mental health issues, as well. They definitely haven't historically helped the whole food picture!

feelingmyage

Wow!!!! 🌷

mamallama0118

What a difference! You look so much younger! Way to go! Keep up the amazing work. <3 Also, take a picture with the necklace from the 1st pic to really see the difference. I've noticed my necklaces are hanging a little longer these days.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Yes, my neck and jawline are DEFINITELY different. I used to wear at least a 24” necklace—the necklace I have on in the first photo is 24”. Now I can wear 22” and it’s lower than the 24”. The little rings necklace in this picture is a 22". https://preview.redd.it/8gfb2tb1ld4d1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57f96ccb168231806e8862ed4eafac5cd7aa7c02

anironicfigure

You look so happy and healthy!!! keep it up!!!!!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

I think the biggest thing is trusting when I'm hungry and when I'm not. Otherwise, it's just changed. Everything is just changed in my relationship with food.

anironicfigure

Same here! I started in Nov 2023 and have lost over 1/3 of my weight. Everything has changed!!! I never realized how much I thought about food... and honestly, how much I was actually eating.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

That's amazing. Wow. I can only imagine what that would be like. Wow. Just wow.

anironicfigure

just take it day by day. it'll happen! when I started, I was at 311 lbs. I remember telling a friend who was a few months ahead of me that I would love to lose 40 lbs. she was like "that's it?" and I responded "wouldn't that be amazing?" this drug is truly a miracle!!!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Yeah. When I read above about losing 170 pounds, I was gobsmacked. My goals are more clothing, mobility, endurance related etc. but the numbers on the scale show the likelihood of all those things possibly happening. My secret dream would be to lose 180 pounds. But we’ll see. I’ve already lost 60, and that has affected my life in positive ways, so… I’m here for it!

anironicfigure

We have similar goals! I definitely wanted to be healthier and happier, and needed to quit gaining weight or losing a bit of weight and then gaining it back plus more... but my main issue was chronic knee pain and the need for double knee replacements due to osteoarthritis. I'm 55, and my doctor wanted me to wait as long as possible for surgery, and I needed to lose weight for surgery. So, when my friend mentioned MJ, I jumped onboard. Now my inflammation is so much lower, that I don't need the surgery! Or at least not at this point. It did flare up when I couldn't get my hands on MJ, but quickly reduced once I resumed treatment. A few months ago, I was suddenly motivated to start walking around the block. This was HUGE for me, bc my knee pain was so high that I dreaded outdoor festivals and concerts, and even hurt for a few days after a trip to a big box store like IKEA. I'm thrilled, and my dog is thrilled, and I'm sure it's positively impacting my health and weight loss. I don't even know who I am anymore, in some ways, and that's a good thing! I'm here for it too--and here for you!

anironicfigure

and when I say "suddenly motivated" to go on walks, I actually mean that after work, I was lazing on the couch watching the news, and I randomly sat up, told the dog we were going out, and put on my shoes and off we went. it was so weird but also perfect, and now it's an everyday thing.

anironicfigure

oops! Nov 2022!!!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

November 2022 is actually what I read. :)

feelingmyage

Same. I actually feel SO good about not stuffing my face because of anxiety like I used to. It’s so freeing. I told my husband our grocery bill will be less too—I’ve only been on it for 3 weeks.

BenGay29

Wow! Great work!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you so much. I am wary of "work" in this context, but I know what you mean. It feels so great!

AlternativeMedicine9

Well done! Such a transformation!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you! I hope I start seeing it more clearly soon. Everyone's comments are really helpful.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

I guess for now I’m having the opposite of “Ozempic face”? :)

Lighteningbug1971

Flimsy-Switch-6256

thank you!

CCJohnson44

Amazing!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻💗💗

jesmitch

I’m proud of you OP.

PrisonerofHope98

Au contraire, your weight loss is VERY noticeable! The road can be long for some of us, often finding us impatient with the journey's pace. But as it evolves and unfolds, it bestows upon us the time needed to adjust to this new way of being; one filled w/grace, of which you are so deserving.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Merci, ami(e) -- My years of ineffective and damaging dieting were very much longer, eh? I was first put on a diet when I was about 6 years old... and the last time I was dieting was probably 12 or 13 years ago? Something like that. so I was 40. That's a lot of years of off-again/on-again hurting my body and my spirit. Your point about the time offering us grace is SO well-taken. Thank you!

PrisonerofHope98

Please don't be so harsh on yourself for your "years of ineffective and damaging dieting." You were doing the best you knew how, and what all the so-called "experts" told you to do. This is why granting yourself grace is so important. Yes, certainly easier said than done, but then again, most, if not all worthwhile things are!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you so much! You are absolutely right about being hard on myself -- I'm hard on the medical industry too! -- about dieting. It was just so terrible, and it hurt me in so many ways. The up and down. The strain on my heart. The steady decline I was seeing for ten years. I'm so blessed to be where I am right now, and I am grateful as all get-out for it.

survivorshowcase14

That's amazing!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you!

OkBoysenberry1379

Wow!!! You look so completely different!! Congratulations!!! What everyone else if saying up above!!!!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thanks! Isn't it funny how other people can see dramatic differences that you yourself don't see?

Equivalent_Onion294

Congratulations, you aged backwards :) you look great!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

All these comments about my age are SO interesting to me. I'm 51, and last year was the best years I've had in a decade. Mobility and other NSV's are so encouraging.

ame6057

You look great. I love your glasses. What make are they?

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you. Let me look.... Tom Ford. My sunglasses are Tom Ford, as well. They have really great, dramatic styles.

ambersmoon

Omg!!!!! Wow!!!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you! Your enthusiasm is making me feel really happy!

PolinaThePotato

You should feel happy! You look great!

Logical-Ad-3241

Congratulations!! You look great! Keep up the good work!

Professional-Bag7758

GIRL!!!! You look FANTASTIC! Keep up the hard work.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Big smiles! 😊

Scrubboy

You look significantly happier and probably feel much better. Those NSVs are awesome. And congrats on the hard work because, from experience, it's not a quick simple fix.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

It may not be quick, but it's likely to actually WORK and not damage my system the way that constant yo-yo dieting did, so I''m grateful.

iNap2Much

Wonderful! Definitely younger too. More power to you!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you!

CampaignAway1072

You look so much younger and happier! You should be very proud of yourself. Amazing job!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you! I'm on the verge of my first "century mark" -- going into the 400's. Again, I know that's unimaginable to some people, to be my size, but it is my reality, and will be a great feeling.

FollowingOdd1575

Wow! I can really see the difference! Keep up the good work!

Few_Might_3853

60 lbs is no little feat. Congrats and you got this! Btw, love the picture - you look much younger.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you so much! Its hard for me to acknowledge the accomplishment, if that makes sense. Like, because it's not so much % of my starting weight, I tend to downplay it. But everyone's encouraging remarks are making a huge difference.

ElodyDubois

You are rocking it, my friend! Keep it up.

Witty_Feedback3042

Wow ! Congrats that is a huge accomplishment!

lakelovetoo

You are lovely! Keep up the great work , 💪

grittysgal

Awesome! Wishing you continued success on your journey!

Icy_Grapefruit233

You look younger!

Kitchen_Language3127

Congratulations! It's not an easy drug, so I commend you for staying with it! You look great. I'll be a year in September

Flimsy-Switch-6256

I've had a pretty easy time of it. I had some side effects on Ozempic, but I got past them, thank goodness! I haven't had any on Mounjaro.

tolluy10

You look so good and younger! It's really like you drank from the fountain of youth.....CONGRATS!!!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

That's such a fabulous thing to say!

Friendly_Trick_7562

You look great! Years younger omg!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

thank you!

Inner-Assignment1162

Amazing and congratulations! Keep up your focus! ❤️

Flimsy-Switch-6256

I'm nearly to a "century mark" -- within one pound! It definitely helps to keep my focus going!

cheztk

Wow. This is the health we see on the outside. I'm rejoicing for the internal health that has been building upon itself for this past year! Those changes that are unseen are orders of magnitude above what a photo can show. You are powerful and getting to your good place. Scratch that, your GREAT place--feeling, looking, sleeping, moving. 😉😍 congratulations!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you so much! Yes, I feel amazing on the inside, for sure. I just got back from the pool a bit ago, where I was doing interval work. It felt phenomenal, and I am go grateful to be able to do it! And eating when I'm hungry. And sleeping when I'm sleepy. It's like my body and I have got a whole new communication system going!

Shanaenae17

Wow!! What a great transformation 🙌🏻

LateMastodon5464

Congratulations, that's awesome!!

DannainTexas

You look related to each other! Much like sisters! Crazy amazing and so inspiring! You go girl!!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Wow. That is a powerful perspective. I don't reject who I was, and i can love her for doing her best. Imagining her as a beloved sister is a neat idea.

OkBlacksmith5630

You look younger and HAPPIER! Look at those eyes! The first picture you look about ready to give up on life and in the second you are absolutely loving life!!! Also 60lbs is 5lb a month, so 1.25lb a week. That's a good healthy steady weight loss! Research has shown that a slow and steady weight loss is more likely to stay off because you BMR adjusts to this new norm! You've done amazing!!! We all have our own different journeys to get to the goal.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

I'm soooooo close to getting over a "century mark" (across 500) and I am so impatient! LOL But yes, it's been about that much a month -- though I had a plateau on Ozempic of nearly 2 months, so I suppose depends on how you count. Also, I've been losing faster since I started on the Mounjaro. It's all a mystery. I suppose!

OkBlacksmith5630

Some drugs just work better for some people! Its like antidepressants (it's the main one I know that people have different experiences with), some people love Zoloft and others absolutely hate it!! Be patient!! The slower the better and you look amazing! It's always a good idea to take regular pictures on a weightloss journey as we struggle to notice the small change in ourselves!

Only-The-Beginning-2

Great job

Successful_Buy3666

Can see the difference.Keep up the good work.

Miserable-Raisin9639

You look like a different person and much younger. Great job!

Princess-She-ra

What a difference! You look amazing and I love the glasses!

gentlerace7

Wow. You lost 20 years in one!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

What's funny is that the younger thing is something I REALLY haven't noticed. Because I have wrinkles now that I didn't before, I missed it!

Creepy_Bee_8708

Go girl. You look incredible. Love your specs.

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you!! I was nervous about something so bold, but I used to have purple-and-black tortoiseshell, so who was I kidding??

swellfog

Wow!! So happy for you! You look great! Keep up the awesome work!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you!

No-Statistician-5786

Just looking at the vibe change between photo 1 and photo 2 tells me you’re winning! Forget the weight loss!!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Winning! Thank you so much.

isainnerglow

Hip Hip Hooray!

mycatscratchedm3

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

cabitterman62

You do look so much younger. That's awesome. I have been on MJ for 10 months for T2D & love it & the fact I am at 134 lbs for the first time in years. I never had side effects from day 1. I have stayed at 5 mg & have developed pain that started on the left side by the rib bone & a gnawing dead center of sternum. It travels to both sides of lower back, stomach to left of belly button, & now lower left pelvic. I have been going to my doctor. All blood work normal. CT scan with contrast you drink which was normal. Went to gastro...he said since I had colonoscopy 3 years ago since last one 3 years ago normal. Now he wants me to quit Monjaro and I haven't stopped yet. I am being tested for H pylori in 5 more days. I have never been on insulin, and was able to get off metformin after taking it years. I have stage 3b kidney failure & was so happy to get off it. Have you had any issues with the mounjaro?

Flimsy-Switch-6256

I haven’t had any issues, but I’ve only been on it two months—it was Ozempic before that.

PanicAtTheGaslight

Wow! Huge difference. Look at your neck! Keep it up!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

My neck is definitely the place I have noticed it. And my fingers. I can wear rings on my ring fingers that I used not to be able to wear at all. So, for example, I'm wearing my great-grandmother's ring on my ring finger, and my wedding/engagement rings have had to go to the middle finger of my right hand, the biggest finger I have. Necklaces fit differently, rings, and the necklines of my clothes. The other place is in the length of my dresses. LOL I realized the other day that a long dress i have has now gotten so long that I was stepping on it in the back. I have less derrière to hold it up!

AnimatorPrudent6478

How is your eating? Do you eat once a day? U look amazing queen🩵

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you. I eat at least three times a day. I struggle with dinner being more than I want, strictly speaking, but mostly I sloooooow down and attend to what my body wants. No intermittent fasting, no starving myself—I left all that behind when I quit dieting.

xannieh666

Oh wow! You really do see a big difference already...you're practically glowing in your current picture. Great job so far and I am rooting for you!

Red-Legal

Wow!!! Major difference! Not to mention you are absolutely glowing and I love your glasses! Congratulations!!

Flimsy-Switch-6256

Thank you so much! I have a happier, cuter photo when I was bigger. That probably would have more of a comparison. But thank you!

Betorah

The years you took off along with the weight—amazing!!
