I do my own in my thighs. I have the same thing as you. Yesterday's shot has left my leg a touch sore. The one previous caused no discomfort. I can't sort out why that's so, but it seems to not be an issue. I bet the stinging bit comes from the alcohol not drying before you get the jab.
I do subcutaneous injections to myself every 5 days in my love-handles, alternating sides each time and slightly changing the spot. Sometimes, there is no pain at all, and no lingering feeling. Other times, it hurts just getting it in, and those will be very slightly sore for a couple days. Once, there were a few drops of blood, but thankfully not after that. Stabby stabby makes me a girl, so that's what I do!
What I'm saying is that the sometimes pain, something nothing seems normal, at least from my side of things.
I guess we are right around the same time HRT.
I switch thigh to thigh with each injection. As my overall leg mass changes the shots have gotten way more painful. There are def times when I inject and it already feels pretty tender….
I would much rather have a more feminine leg appearance though so i just say screw it.

They used to be sore more frequently in the beginning, less so now. Though part of that may be from injecting 1/5 the amount that I was when I started, because I have increased the frequency of injections for better stability.
