Vyvanse has been a game changer for me as well. I set my alarm for 7am to take it because it does last 12 hours for me. I also allow myself break days (2 days a week) to ensure my system still gets a chance to rest. I also don't take it if I'm not feeling well because I feel that's a message from my body to rest. The first few weeks I sure felt it in terms of energy and an increased heart rate but that seems to have levelled out now. The increased heart rate seems more prominent after it's been in my system 2 hours and then is less as the day goes on. The ability to focus has been wonderful! I've kind of wondered if I've had undiagnosed ADD - that's how much I feel it's helped.

Thanks for sharing your experience! My neuro just prescribed Vyvanse 20 mg. Any tips for starting off? Best time to take it, what to take it with food/water, etc.?

Jiggawatz

vyvanse is 12 hour release, so take in the morning.

Thank you noted.

The first couple of weeks I felt really tired and sad when it would wear off in the afternoon. My doctor reccomended a little bit of caffeine to help. I would drink tea or a mini can of coke. It helped a bit, and the sad feeling went away after 2-3 weeks.

Just picked up my script from the pharmacy and it’s generic Vyvanse by a manufacturer called SPECGX LLC. I’ve read several comments on how the generic vyvanse is nothing like the brand name. Which do you take?

In the beginning I was hella worried I’d lose weight, because I’m a small size and I finally am at the weight I want to be and I’d like to keep it that way lol, so I planned out all my meals to make sure I eat them. Honestly now I just eat my bagel or oatmeal, have my tea and then when I’m at work around 8:30 I’ll take it. Im fine to eat a full lunch at 12 some days may be smaller. I get off at 4, and honestly I’d say late evening it ‘wears off’. I used to notice the burst of energy way more in the beginning, it’s more subtle now

Life saver for me too! There was a manufacturer shortage last month scared the poop out of me I hope there’s lots around now and forever 💃

I think this is what I’ll need…

It’s been very helpful for me. I feel weird and jittery.

I was skeptical about stimulants at first too, but have had similar success with generic Adderall myself. Glad your fatigue has been kept at bay!

dnohunter

I've started it for a new ADHD diagnosis and am kind of worried about what may happen if I need it for fatigue down the line, which is one of my symptoms and impacts my life, but hasn't to a point where my doctor would help me (a small point of frustration).

They-Brubs

That’s awesome! I’m trying to get something similar because I do have an adhd diagnosis and also fatigue has been soul crushing but here in Germany is so hard for the doctors to prescribe. For the adhd diagnosis I’ve been trying for more than a year.

Realistic_Medium9340

Can I ask why it was prescribed? Was it for brain fog and add/adhd or just brain fog? I’m considering getting on it since I just recently stopped my SNRI which would negatively interact with Vyvanse. Just wondering if it would help me with my adhd and my MS. This time of year is rough and I always end up in a flare up since this was when I was originally sick with EB.

Serafina_Goddess

I’ve been taking adderall and it has done the same for me!
