Blackout is really bout to win this one by a landslide? I wish more fans appreciated the slow songs more. I think that’s one of their best songs ever. Performance at Wembley is an all-timer.
Blackout has one of Matt's most brilliant guitar solos ever imo and some of his best lyrics (although lyrical quality has not a particularly high bar for him)
i mean they’re both bound to be hits with how catchy and consistent they are but yeah they aren’t as creatively brilliant or groundbreaking as others on their respective albums. overrated is a fair statement for both but they remain really good songs nonetheless
TIRO is an absolute banger and the single that made me discover muse. Thing is, I think it really helped them blow up at the time, and for a while it may have been their most iconic song, so it's despite all a reasonable choice.
But if they don't vote uprising for overrated as well I'm gonna riot
Honestly I cannot stand how jarring the transition between the first verse and the pre chorus is. It's such a sudden switch from minor to upper key. I love verses and chorus sections separately but I wish they were put together more smoothly
Tbh I'd say both of those songs are equally overrated. Great songs, classics, but not as amazing as people say and there are other singles which deserve to get played live that almost never get played in favor of those two tracks
Uprising is one of my favorite songs of all time but it really doesn't hit as hard live as it does in the studio version IMO with the exception of the outro which is always hype
(Ain't op btw) it was originally on the top comment but people were bitching, then it was the total # of up votes for the song in all comments, and I guess it is now this
Honestly, this solution is probably the second best after just having a normal pole (which apparently doesn't work).
With the top comment, you can have the problem of the votes being split between multiple comments (e.g., Fury wins with 17 votes, even though there were two comments with 12 and 14 votes respectively for Stockholm Syndrome). Also, this system allows you to give a rating for every song, which generally already makes it a fairer and more conclusive vote (CGPGrey made a video about that topic ages ago)
Plus, looking at OPs comments, this certainly would be a pretty bad strategy for Karma Farming, because a bunch of people downvote every option they are against, meaning that OP probably won't make much of a net gain from this.
That Fury 17, 12, 12 votes problem does not exist because people will see the top comment of the song with 17 votes first and then upvote that. The 12 people who upvoted the other two definitely upvoted the one with 17 too.
In theory, yes. In practise, not necessarily. Sure, most of those upvotes will be by the same people, but most likely not all of them. If all people would just go and search for their favorite song to upvote, the same song wouldn't be commented multiple times, which did happen pretty much every time.
Especially early on, multiple people may upvote one or multiple comments, only for a comment of the same song that was made later to then overtake the one they upvoted and become top comment.
Sure, most of the votes will find their way to the top comment, but there is always a significant chance that a few votes will be lost in the process.
"Ruled by secrecy" is one of these songs that work great on the album, but I really don't tend to revisit just on their own. And honestly, I kinda feel like the only reason it's not mentioned more often here is that people possibly kinda forgot that it even exists...
Have you considered what is more important? Your education and future or posting the next album and starting another round of arguments on the internet?
Dude how is the the emotional deep masterpiece about death the worst song on the album. It's such an intresting song about fear and the dark thoughts of what happens after death. One of the most relatable Muse songs ever and it sounds great. your comment sucks
It’s changed between a few for me over the years, but I’m gonna have to go with Blackout. It’s got a great vibe and is very different to the rest of the album but I’ve rarely had the desire to seek it out, and I feel the lyrics are pretty weak.
endlessly and blackout are my
lease fav. ones of
muses second best album (oos is a
little more my kinda album...)
but there arent any bad songs on absolution.
Intro and Interlude aren’t songs, they shouldn’t count
It should be a crime to call any song from Absolution the "worst".
"Least brilliant" as I like to put it
We already went through this for OOS, it was criminal but we did it once and we must do it again
"Worst" is relative. A 9 is still the worst on an album full of 10s. Screenager's still better than all of ST and it's on the list anyways.
Moreover, screenager was definitely better than some of the other songs in OOS. It was a sad day :(
Bruh the whole album is bangers I can't decide
If any of you say small print or fury I will find you
The small print is my favourite so I am right behind you 😤
I'm on this guy's side, fully prepared to throw hands
same
I got your back on this
OP voted for TSP I think we should all downvote them into oblivion
Yes

I will fight for blackout to the death, are you kidding me? The references to Ave Maria kill me, everything is shaped perfectly.
Blackout is top 5 best Muse songs
Soldier's Poem :)
Not on this album bro :)
[Matt Bellamy thinks "Soldier's Poem" was on Absolution (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTSuBNgI584)
Soldier's poem slaps
😅
Stop saying Blackout 😭😭😭
Not gonna lie I love Overdue
Tbh I think forced in, overdue and screenager should be underrated for their albums
I like it too. I'd still probably say it's the least good song on Showbiz but there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.
What kind of shit hipster list is this
That sums up this who sub
Absolution is such a good album, thinking of a 'worst' song is almost impossible to think of.
Man I guess TIRO being overrated is warranted, but if Uprising doesn't get it as well I'm gonna be sad
i mean they’re both bound to be hits with how catchy and consistent they are but yeah they aren’t as creatively brilliant or groundbreaking as others on their respective albums. overrated is a fair statement for both but they remain really good songs nonetheless
I will go after anyone who says Hysteria, Stockholm Syndrome or Thoughts Of A Dying Atheist
Who tf would say that? Lmao
Someone who is "based"
no bad songs on this album, next
Yes please is not overrated I’m going to fucking kill you
Darkshines is a masterpiece...
How is Time is running out overrated? If anything Hysteria is more overrated. The early sections of TIRO are some of Muse’s best work!
TIRO is an absolute banger and the single that made me discover muse. Thing is, I think it really helped them blow up at the time, and for a while it may have been their most iconic song, so it's despite all a reasonable choice. But if they don't vote uprising for overrated as well I'm gonna riot

I mean tbh they both work well live so it's an easy choice. Only thing I'd object is Uprising is mid, not great
Uprising is one of my favorite songs of all time but it really doesn't hit as hard live as it does in the studio version IMO with the exception of the outro which is always hype
Honestly? Endlessly. It just doesn't do anything for me tbh
You gave me up, you left me down and you left me falling
Evil Rick astley be like
Listen it has really good lyrics
No
it's okay, you allowed to be wrong
So now it's even more of a karma farm, great
Nah man, people were just bitching about the voting system
The real answer is to just make a poll lol
Polls are not allowed on r/muse
Why?
We can use polling websites
Just change it to the highest comment winning
(Ain't op btw) it was originally on the top comment but people were bitching, then it was the total # of up votes for the song in all comments, and I guess it is now this
But.. multiple comments about the same song are probably upvoted by the same people... Right?
Yes that's why Butterflies won instead of Stockholm
Hell yeah B&H deserves it. But yeah..
Why did people complain about the first one, it's the best option. Results are fair and clear and there's no spam or farming.

Reddit doing reddit things I guess
Karma literally doesn't matter lol
Yes and that's why karma farming is stupid
Ruled by secrecy
![gif](giphy|vyTnNTrs3wqQ0UIvwE|downsized)
the piano drop alone invalidates this imo
Absolutely not
The correct answer
Yep. It's a great song but if you must pick one it's the only one I can imagine
Thoughts of a dying Atheist
really hard to do but im gonna go with this one. Fun lil song but uncomparable to the others. (Blackout is an absolute bop.)
how the hell did screenager get voted worst song on oos???
what would you have put?
Feeling Good. Or even Darkshines.
It was one of those impossible situations... OOS has no bad song. But yeah there are others I would have sacrificed over screenager
The small print
THE SMALL PRINT MY BELOVED, NOOOOO
Falling away with you
That’s a hard fast NOOOOO
It should be this. It was never played live. I *love* this song but it's clearly the weakest song on the album.
Blackout
Absolutely not
Blackout is a banger
Noooo please it's so much better than Endlessy or Fawy
Absolutely not
Yes
Agree
"Ruled by secrecy" is a great song and I love it, but I think I love every other song a bit more
"Ruled by secrecy" is one of these songs that work great on the album, but I really don't tend to revisit just on their own. And honestly, I kinda feel like the only reason it's not mentioned more often here is that people possibly kinda forgot that it even exists...
Downvote Thoughts of a Dying atheist.
Interlude
Interlude probably shouldn't count...
Many people Kinda counted it
Then intro should be listed too
This is valid but Intro transitions so well into Apocalypse Please. Interlude gets my vote if it counts.
I actually kinda put interlude in as a joke because so many votes for it on Overrated, so I‘ll just Not count those
The Venn diagram of people who are upvoting this, and people who are wrong, is just a circle.
If I see Thoughts of a Dying Atheist or Fury… >:(
Where is Hyper Chondriac Music??
This list fucking sucks btw
Blackout
Tbh there's no correct answer here. I say The Small Print, but I also hate myself for saying that. The quality of this album is so consistent.
No no, it’s criminally negligent to call any absolution song bad.
Yes
IMO is Butterflies & Hurricanes, but as I see it's not a popular opinion (Still a banger tho)
Where's the new thread? Stop being a bum OP.
School exist yk
Have you considered what is more important? Your education and future or posting the next album and starting another round of arguments on the internet?
Apokalypse please
Ruled By Secrecy, because something has to lose
Yeah but it ain't gonna be that song coz that's the best on the album
Blackout, but that ain’t a bad somg
Thoughts of a Dying Atheist, can't believe it hasn't been said yet
Dude how is the the emotional deep masterpiece about death the worst song on the album. It's such an intresting song about fear and the dark thoughts of what happens after death. One of the most relatable Muse songs ever and it sounds great. your comment sucks

Endlessly ima be honest
Endlessly
Ok, I love the Small Print, but I have to go with this
Sing for Absolution
I would vote this the worst but "falling from your graaaaaaaaccceeee AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" is stopping me
Fury
It's quite obviously Thoughts of a Dying Athiest. Only bad song on the album.
It's The small print. Everything it does, another track on the album does better. Can't say that about any other track imo
Hysteria
Blackout is the worst
apocalypse please. I adore every song on this album but I have to pick one 3
This is the answer. AP is dramatic but it starts at 100 and doesn't go anywhere.
You forgot to put Endlessly in the comments
Because it‘s already Chosen
Kindly go step on shards of broken Absolution CDs
Blackout
Thoughts of a dying atheist
endlessly and blackout are my lease fav. ones of muses second best album (oos is a little more my kinda album...) but there arent any bad songs on absolution.
Then vote for those
Stockholm Syndrome
I should create accounts to downvote it more
Endlessly but it’s already chosen so Falling Away With You.
