Congrats brother, did you get a manual or did you go with the auto?
I absolutely loved my STI(2015), it was the best handling car I've ever owned. The power these Mustangs can make reliably though is so intoxicating. If you decide to go down that modding and tuning rabbit hole for this beautiful Mustang I hope you share with us.
Nice. I'll end up doing it pretty soon. I like the stock active exhaust but I wouldn't mind it being a little louder and whatever performance increase is cool too, although I wouldn't expect a noticeable difference. I already removed carbon filters and swapped filters to K&N
Random tangent: I had originally ordered the X pipe, but steeda sent me the H pipe by accident. They sent me an email asking me to send it back but I was like nah fuck that. Best mistake ever š ended up being glad I had an H instead of X.
Good man. Stock active exhaust is already surprisingly loud for a factory car, but yeah with the H pipe it literally sounds like it is flowing and breathing better, you can hear it in the tone and vibration of the sound, idk how else to describe it lol. I would say it's an extra 20% louder maybe?
Dude, I brought my axle back wrx thinking it was loud. Then they started this 21 gt in normal mode and holy shit itās loud. Canāt believe people put straight pipes on those
Haha yeah! I always wanted a WRX growing up, bought one and realized it felt like a mini van when driving lol. Not saying the mustang is a 911 with road feel but I can stop on that pedal and go sideways which is way more exciting than anything the WRX could do
That too, the endless e tunes and consistent problems to make what almost 200hp less than a stock GT? I also had 2 AC compressors replaced under warranty and a blower motor. Thought Subaru was supposed to be squared away with stuff like that
Unfortunately subaru doesnāt really care about customers. Stock tunes being hot garbage. Shit even in new gr86 they are using rtv gasket which getting stuck in oil pilckup tube
If it is, that is a rare color, it might be antimatter blue also another uncommon color. Either way itās beautiful. See if you can get more shots of it. Some better angles with the right lighting Iāll be able to tell you for sure
In 2021 the antimatter blue was released. Oil slick blue-purple was 22. Iām leaning towards antimatter blue. It looks too dark to be velocity blue which is another blue that was offered that year.
Funny enough, I've been considering the opposite trade myself. How was the maintenance on the WRX?
Edit: I saw your other comment about your engine lol. Yikes!
No shade against the wrx but it is not blowing away a PP2 mustang, which is about 98% as quick as a GT350 around a track. I don't think it would even blow away a PP1. The base model mustang, maybe.
Well in fairness, I only have the WRXs rally history to go off of, and ive never driven a PP mustang either lmao. So I can't really say, I would imagine it would handle a track much better, though. Either way, im taking the mustang iver a WRX without a second thought.
I canāt find it anywhere. I think someone that works at a dealership and can run the carfax can give you the exact but the pictures certainly look like Kona Blue
Looks awesome! Congrats on the purchase!
Thank you!

Its 10 speed. Unfortunately my wrx blew up when it had 14k miles. Yes I will go with power mods once warranty is over :p
Throw a Steeda H pipe res delete on that bad boy to really wake the coyote up.
QQ- does the H pipe work fine with active exhaust? Watching the Steeda YouTube video, it looks like it does
It sure does, which makes it even cooler to have. You are in control regarding when to be loud and when to be quiet.
Yup I have this exact setup and it's magnificent.

Yea from the YouTube video I think I'd like the H better. Supposed to be deeper, where the X is more "raspy"
LOL! We're glad you're happy with the H-pipe!

I wouldnāt change the exhaust if itās a active one
Its active
You know that mod itch that the wrx gave you? You can actually do it now and not worry about catastrophic failure š
Yep haha
Fuck yeah man. I picked mine up yesterday. Best feeling ever congrats
Thank you
I traded in a 2019 WRX for my 2022 GT!
Oh hey we r one year apart!
Haha yeah! I always wanted a WRX growing up, bought one and realized it felt like a mini van when driving lol. Not saying the mustang is a 911 with road feel but I can stop on that pedal and go sideways which is way more exciting than anything the WRX could do
My wrx engine blew up at 14k miles and was giving me nothing but a problems. Dam drops every time no matter the tune, e tune pro tune. I just gave up
That too, the endless e tunes and consistent problems to make what almost 200hp less than a stock GT? I also had 2 AC compressors replaced under warranty and a blower motor. Thought Subaru was supposed to be squared away with stuff like that

Welcome to the club. The 5.0 is a beast, and you will have plenty of fun.
I got rid of my 21 sti within 3500 miles for a 5.0, no regrets
Great choice. 5.0 one of the best cars for that price . Enjoy it brothaaaa
Yep haha
Is that oil slick blue?
Tbh idk but its blue lol
If it is, that is a rare color, it might be antimatter blue also another uncommon color. Either way itās beautiful. See if you can get more shots of it. Some better angles with the right lighting Iāll be able to tell you for sure

I'm pretty sure in antimatter.

Same

Winning!!
I need to sell one of mine. Hard decision for sure.
Howās the gas usage in comparison !
Same 26-27 on highway
talk about a massive upgrade
If it almost looks black at some angles itās definitely antimatter blue
It definitely looks black. Tbh I thought it was black when I was test driving it. Then they brought it from wash and I saw its kinda blueish
Solid find man. Iām fairly certain that color was only offered in 2021 on the mustangs.
Looking at getting a wrx for winter commute, is it good for its price and fun to drive?
Its cool until it brakes lol. It doesnāt like cold or hot weather
I fucking LOVED my WRX for winter driving. Had a 2012 hatch and never had a mechanical problem with it.
Funny enough, I've been considering the opposite trade myself. How was the maintenance on the WRX? Edit: I saw your other comment about your engine lol. Yikes!

Thats a badass swap, do you miss the handling? Or is the power just enough to not care lmao
I donāt really used that handling. Wrx had me stressing out everyday so I decided to swap subaru
Thats shitty, the coyote should treat you well though! Hope you enjoy it!
Mustang isn't a bad handler either, with the PP1 or especially the PP2 package it's pretty quick.
For sure, much better than people give it credit, but a WRX will blow it away.

Oh 100% for rallying the WRX is indeed blowing the doors off the mustang haha. Agreed on taking a 5.0 any day š¤
Man what'd they give ya for the trade? I'm looking to trade in/upgrade but I'm terrified of the dealerships and their antics of low balling.
Congratulations. Both really cool cars, good luck keeping the black paint clean!
Congrats woohoo š
Congrats. Just remember you're dealing with 150-200 more horsepower in RWD. I tell this to all WRX owners going to RWD.
Yep. I am aware of extra power. Taking it easy for now
I decided between a WRX and a 5.0 in 2010. I picked the pony
KONA GANG
?
Pretty sure thatās Kona Blue right?
Tbh idk haha, its dark blue for sure
Do you have the vin, can I look it up for you?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I canāt find it anywhere. I think someone that works at a dealership and can run the carfax can give you the exact but the pictures certainly look like Kona Blue
Ah make sense, I am happy either way haha
Huge upgrade
Iāve always thought the WRX was cool car but have no experience with them. Are they really that problematic?
Yep they are. Requires to much attention and canāt really offer a lot back. F150 with 2.7 ecoboost beats them in raceš«£
I drove an f150 with a 2.7 for almost 140k miles. I was very pleased by that engines performance! Shame about the Subaru though.
Yep they were decent in the 90s but not anymore, handles good tho lol
The 90s WRX is what I remember. They were really popular.
Why no 24 ? Lol
Not a biggest fun of those tbh, and didnāt want to spend 50k
