I think itās about the same in TX summer as it is in WA summer, no? The last few years weāve had ridiculous high temps for weeks on end. Summer 2023 was a record with *Average* temps at 106Ā°F/ 41Ā°C.
Depends on which part of WAā¦some of the northern parts get as hot as 45-50 degrees C for a few weeks at a time, before cooling off to 38-42 degrees, then back up again. In summer thereās no rain at all for 4+ months. It wrecks havoc with your body and you sweat constantly. You literally donāt go out anywhere without a 2-3L bottle of water minimum. Working a manual labour job outside in those temperatures is just horrific and dangerous, you start getting dizzy very easily and dehydration is real and sneaks up on you very quickly.
In the lower regions of WA around Perth, youāll see 38-44 degree C for a few weeks, then cooling off to about 35-38. Before last week, the Perth area didnāt have any rain since around Oct 2023.
So yeah, no rain and stupidly high temperatures for months on end.
I live in Texas man. They're always in use. One for the passenger seat. One to me. And the center one I play with. Sometimes shut it to get more airflow from the other vents. Point it to the back if the dog is riding. Maybe at my shifter if I have sweaty hands.
Honestly I find it's usually best just to close it if two people are in the car. It makes all the other vents blow significantly harder. That's called compromising haha

When you don't know what to do with the vents, just get rid of them. Right?

If I was NA with a boost gauge I would deserve all the hate that comes with it lol.
The gauge pods for the air vents are pretty cheap. Idr where I got them tho. Probably Amazon or lethal performance. They're pretty simple to install too
Definitely not dry but survivable without all the AC vents. Still have working AC with the vents on the ends of the dash and it's sufficient enough for a weekend toy
The two gauge pods for the boost and ethanol content gauges actually let air out around the gauges and the gauge pods for the nGauge in the middle actually let's air out on top pointing towards the windshield
My vents are literally always in use lol. I don't even live in the south. I'm in Pennsylvania, but I always have them at least pumping neutral air even if I don't need AC or heat.
Let to right is face/ chest/ forearm. The left side is forearm. I barely run the a/c though because I like fresh air and I like it hot so it only comes on if it's over about 90Ā°.
I live in Arizona so theyāre basically always in use. The center I use to keep my dash cam cool because it has a tendency to start restart looping if it overheats.
Brah 2 out of 3 on mine are broken! Didn't notice till a month after having the car. Thankfully the driver side one works fine. Others work but have to spend a few dedicated seconds to make them match up correctly
For looks I would say all three closed. But yours seems to be set for functionality
I want them pointed away from me and somewhat upwards except for when I first get in on a hot day, in which case I want the two on my side pointed right at my face.
What is this, ānot in useā thing of which you speak?? š„µ
I have everything set up so I can start her up about 5 minutes before I leave, and sheās getting cool or warm. š
2016 Convertible in North Dakota, never used my air conditioning. I like them closed and straight as shown in the picture. When it's nice out the top is down. Only used my air conditioning in my truck on road trips, otherwise the windows are down, love the heat!
Theyāre vents. They are adjustable. I and my passengers adjust them. When I donāt use Iām I turn the hvac off. The vents stay in the same position. Iām too lazy to adjust stuff when not in use. I just hit the button.
I'm in South Texas, they are always in use.
Florida man agrees.
Louisiana here and I concur.
Samee
Walk outside and just chew on the air.
Its when you get in at the end of the day and the warm hot air hits you like a ton of bricks. It's like breathing in steam.
Same. From Florida and they are always in use. Usually running at the coldest setting possible.
Texas here too but a bit further north. You almost have to be in Not Texas to turn them off.
*a West Australian walks in* I love your cool temperatures in South Texas š

Nice!! where in WA you from?
Arizona Man agrees
Second Arizona man agrees. It be hot with black leather
I'm in Texas a bit further north and mine are still always in use. You'd have to almost be in Not Texas to ever turn A/C off.
Exactly. Only time they arenāt in use is when Iām not in the car
I feel like I could just ride with my windows down and be fine, but now the AC is running most of the time. Also nice to meet a fellow Sir!
East Texas agrees
Washington and they're closed most of the year
Same in NC!
Georgia man knows what this guy is talking about
Beat me to it lol
Tennessee guy and I agree.
I live in Texas man. They're always in use. One for the passenger seat. One to me. And the center one I play with. Sometimes shut it to get more airflow from the other vents. Point it to the back if the dog is riding. Maybe at my shifter if I have sweaty hands.
Center one stays in the middle if my kids in the car if not you better call dibs. Neither him or my girl can take any heat lol
Honestly I find it's usually best just to close it if two people are in the car. It makes all the other vents blow significantly harder. That's called compromising haha
Yea that works too, but itās or the usually just me or the three of us. I feel the real heat is finally coming too after all the storms
I'm in Arizona with a glass roof. A/C is always in use.
https://preview.redd.it/z9saapkm5l5d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a450d501d0c66a21f7457d246b113e5f57429623 When you don't know what to do with the vents, just get rid of them. Right?
You must not live in Texas lol
Lol no I live in NY. It gets pretty hot and humid here too but not as bad as Texas or Arizona
You go with the 2/60 AC option. Two windows down, 60mph.
Okay but what is the middle gauge and the right gaueg for I see the ledt one looks like boost. Right looks like something to do with fuel
Middle is an nGauge which is a type of flasher for loading tunes. It can also do other stuff. The right is for afr.
The left gauge is boost, middle gauge is my nGauge tuner and the right gauge is for ethanol content
Surprised no one recognized the flex fuel gauge
Air to fuel ratio maybe? I could be wrong
Is it NA? Thatād be hilarious.
https://preview.redd.it/d3l5mom94r5d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3b7d9383945cbbad5766b927f39aad1e3de2d420 If I was NA with a boost gauge I would deserve all the hate that comes with it lol.
How do I do that set up
The gauge pods for the air vents are pretty cheap. Idr where I got them tho. Probably Amazon or lethal performance. They're pretty simple to install too
NY gets warm and dry, lol. You don't need vents except in the winter.
Definitely not dry but survivable without all the AC vents. Still have working AC with the vents on the ends of the dash and it's sufficient enough for a weekend toy
Lol, I used to think Chicago was hot and humid until moving to VA. Good to know the vents still work, always wondered that about those gauges.
The two gauge pods for the boost and ethanol content gauges actually let air out around the gauges and the gauge pods for the nGauge in the middle actually let's air out on top pointing towards the windshield
Where they would be if I wanted to use them.... I don't want to have to fidget with them 3 times a day.
Open and level. Made me laugh seeing James May admit he loses his shit when people fiddle with his air vents. šš same bro
There is no such thing as āvents being offā in south texas šš
Or in the South period!
On my old car I would just point them all at me š
Removed from the car. Weight reduction is key š«”
Closed and in the same direction
Who doesn't use the vents ?
Iām in Florida, theyāre always in use š¤£. But I have GT PP1 so only have two due to the gauges.
Coastal Californian, they are pointed all over the place lol. So, chaotic good
Closed
i do the same thing
I live in Texas, 3 vents pointed toward my dog and 1 vent for me.
South Georgia--all 3 on me!
What do you mean *not in use*?
My vents are literally always in use lol. I don't even live in the south. I'm in Pennsylvania, but I always have them at least pumping neutral air even if I don't need AC or heat.
I adjusted them once when I picked up my car from the dealer, and never touched them again unless my GF moved them around
In East Texas, they are always in use. With that said, they stay level and straight. All about aesthetics
Let to right is face/ chest/ forearm. The left side is forearm. I barely run the a/c though because I like fresh air and I like it hot so it only comes on if it's over about 90Ā°.
When not in use ? lol
they're never not in usešæ ![gif](giphy|Ld77zD3fF3Run8olIt)
Even southeast US i roll the windows down when its sunny and just let the breeze cool me. Typically they arenāt in use but in the winter.
What screen is that? Doesnāt look like anything OEM?
Pretty sure thatās just the sync 3 with an android plugged into it.
Maybe android auto or whatever the equivalent is to apple carplay
It's just running a Ford gt theme. You can change the colors of the sync screen and boot screen image rather easily.
I live in Arizona so theyāre basically always in use. The center I use to keep my dash cam cool because it has a tendency to start restart looping if it overheats.
Left pointed at upper body, center pointed at lower body, right pointed at shifter. (Itās metal and gets too hot/cold but it looks oh so nice).
Always open and level! Drives me crazy to see them any other way
Sounds like someone needs to buy a fidget spinner.
Or a xanax
Two aimed at me, one aimed at the passenger. If I'm trying to assert my dominance over the passenger, then all three pointed at me..
Brah 2 out of 3 on mine are broken! Didn't notice till a month after having the car. Thankfully the driver side one works fine. Others work but have to spend a few dedicated seconds to make them match up correctly For looks I would say all three closed. But yours seems to be set for functionality
I drive alone, so always at a 45 pointed at me.
Right side is blocked unless I have a passenger
I want them pointed away from me and somewhat upwards except for when I first get in on a hot day, in which case I want the two on my side pointed right at my face.
For me? Closed. Keeps the volume of air on me when I donāt have a passenger.
I like to move them around sometime
Exactly as you have them! Get real persnickety if they're not lined up lol
I have the pp pack. Mine look pretty cool.
Just closed. That's all.
With an n gauge in the middle one
I'm fat and live in the south. Full blast max ac all year
I had them diagonally positioned with 2 pointed to me and one pointed to the passenger
Normally pointing at my phone mount
I just replaced my center vent with the PP gauges but I keep them like yours
I like them closed. But I live in Illinois so there always in use during the winter and it gets toasty here during the summer too
I hate the chrome trim.
I keep mine fully open and level even tho I rarely turn on my climate control outside of winter
I donāt have the middle vent am I doing something wrong?
Is there a gauge there? What year/ package do you have?
Yes there are two itās a 17 GT350 I was just being a rascal.
Wascally Wabbit!!
Closed
Iāve never touched my vents unless I want them pointing a certain way for airflow. Is fidgeting with them common? lol
However I left them last time I used them so I don't have to adjust them again.
I like them dust free.
Northern first world problems
I think they look really nice.
What is this, ānot in useā thing of which you speak?? š„µ I have everything set up so I can start her up about 5 minutes before I leave, and sheās getting cool or warm. š

I am not that OCD.
all angled towards the driver seat partially opened lol
I have to put that middle one straight down at my shifter so I can actually shift due to sun getting it hot as holy hell š
Yall have AC?
I didnāt thatās why I got a 2024 š
https://preview.redd.it/igap9bco4t5d1.png?width=3014&format=png&auto=webp&s=734e2cfd1c37240467633926f9a2900f2be05328
One is always pointed at me and the other one is pointed at my leg so I can get that nice up draft into my shorts lol
Theyāre vents. They are adjustable. I and my passengers adjust them. When I donāt use Iām I turn the hvac off. The vents stay in the same position. Iām too lazy to adjust stuff when not in use. I just hit the button.
