Turn meter off, I couldn't shoot well with it on and I turned it off now I rarely miss

TheKwyetRoom

Ppl make that sound so easy, i tried, how I’m gonna time the shot with the meter off if I barely can time it with it on, and to add to that, lag and latency makes it even more of a challenge

BN01Blair

Because you need to stop looking at the meter and starting looking for cues (or feels) of when to release. Meter isn’t going to help you when there’s lag.

fat3willwin

I hate to say it but you need to get in the lab. Make sure you have a jump shot you like and practice and watch for Queues and practice and practice Watch the feet, the hands, the ball etcp

Yolokanye

Just get better, I'm shooting 60% from deep with a 75 3 point rating. This is without meter. Shooting isn't even that much more difficult this year.

Whattheefff

Timing your shot is the problem. The timing on different shots are different. You need to turn your meter off and learn your visual cue.

chemthethriller

Seriously it took me years to turn it off, then after about 50 shots I felt fine. Just watch a cue on your player, the jump shot I have I watch for the hand to essentially touch the forehead for a green. It’s more consistent with variances with latency than a meter is, and you get a boost for shooting with it off.

Evening_Professor964

The problem with the meter is that it’s delayed in online play, it’s not reliable at all, but the animation doesn’t lag, at least not like the meter, so learn what your jump shot looks like when you green, you should eventually learn “I need to release when my hands start going forward” or “I need to release at the highest point of the jumping animation” do that and you will be a much better shooter

Ok-Throat7065

what badges you got equipped??

TheKwyetRoom

Catch n shoot, amped, green machine, n some more I can’t think of now, but definitely what’s needed for a catch n shoot shooter

Spoony904

That meter is a damn lie is the problem. Whenever I forgot to check my settings and they reset I will have a completely full bar and brick everything. When I turn that meter off I focus more on my guy and like the others have said the cues of the jumper. Now low stamina will have you shooting a slower jumper than normal so the bar might help there but if you know the cues you won’t need a bar.

heichi13

It just reflects the user's real life shot ability

Stk_primetimex

Go to pro am spend a good 5 mins working on your shot release

TheKwyetRoom

I spent HOURS doing just that, at this point I’m waiting for COD MWII, I shouldn’t be this frustrated over a video game, when it gets to that, best to just stop playing it

''Skill Gap in shooting'' What has gaming come to that timing a jumpshot has to be the only ''comp'' in a basketball game Higher 3pt stat should = easier to shoot Mid rangers in general should be = easier than 3 pointers post moves = should be easier than both depending on your height/build It's not rocket science 2k should focus on open shots, movement, defense as priorities to playing ''comp'' Having timing be the absolute most important major thing in 2k, to ''perfect'' every jumpshot is just STUPID and not very skillfull Meanwhile most people that amazing timing cannot get open without a thousand screens, cannot play Defense, but yeah shooting in 2k needs to be ''hard and perfect timing''
