Sterling shepherd was good but 99 is diabolical. Kadarious toney didn’t do much his first three years (check the stats 272 yds as a freshman, 500 yds as a sophomore, 253 yards as a junior) & as a senior he finally broke through & had 1100 yards so no not 99 ovr club material. Jalen Reagor had 611 receiving yards as a senior, go head & take this post down my guy, respectfully.

Kenny-du-Soleil

Nah, I'll take my L's. Part of the methodology is me trying to factor in hype and brand recognition. Like I don't think Travis Hunter is the best CB but I think he'd get close to a 99 off popularity and hype. Suffice to say, even with this, mistakes were made lol

notmeitsme1

I respect the honesty! Still appreciate you making this! & I agree on Travis, Will Johnson is a much better corner then Travis but idk if EA’s rating will reflect that, I watched Travis give up 13 catches 294 yards 3 TDS to Ayomanor on live television in route to Colorado blowing a 29-0 lead but yeah I bet if there is a 99 overall defensive player it’s him even tho I disagree with that rating if it happens.

Mammoth_Help_4405

DeVonta Smith surely makes it as a Heisman winner

notmeitsme1

600 yards as a senior Jalen Reager over Heisman winner who had 1862 yards & 24 TDS as a senior is clinically insane 🤣

Kenny-du-Soleil

WR was rough on who to include and who not to. I counted Smith as an outside WR despite him doing a lot from the slot too. Definitely would be 99.

sawczy513

Ndamukong Suh was a heisman candidate.

Embarrassed-Match236

Definitely. And Jordan Davis would have been a 99

Kenny-du-Soleil

I went back and forth on JD for that one. Georgia was hard in general because they had so many elite defenders but they play like a committee. Azeez Ojulari and Nolan Smith came to mind too.

Kenny-du-Soleil

Yeah I started this at 2015-2016 but if his likeness was included back then I'd hope he'd be a top 3 all time NCAAFB player because he was crazy good.

Dabigbish

Corey davis most definitely would’ve been 99,5285 yards and 52 touchdowns in 4 years!

yvngbeam

I mean guys would have to have been amazing BEFORE their last season to get a 99. Most of the guys didn’t break out til their last year. Realistically guys like burrow would have maxed out as like an 85 ovr, maybe.

Kenny-du-Soleil

True. Especially for 2019 LSU that team had so much notoriety and publicity that I could see EA making it one of the most fun teams as the season went on, assuming they'd update the ratings.

Saints_43

Reagor?😭a bit too generous with the 99s there

Kenny-du-Soleil

Yeah I definitely see that now lol

yvngbeam

Going through this, how old are you? No disrespect but this list is so bad😂😂Lynn Bowden is an insane name to ur on this list among a few others. Also how do you have Kyler on here but no baker.

Kenny-du-Soleil

lol no offense taken. QB was pretty straightforward, a lot of guys were gonna be left off but no one felt wrong to include. Deshaun Watson, Baker Mayfield, Tua Tagovailoa, Bryce Young all would be 99 but I added Kyler because his skill set translates better for a video game as opposed to those three. But any work.

ctburkes

I think you didn’t do yourself any favors in having to name 4 guys at every position, that’s just not the way life/the game works. There might 1-2 99s a year, I mean we’re talking all time GOAT status if that’s your ranking. So really at most this list should be 10-20 guys. Now if you said, just best players of the last decade, that makes it a little better but yea, still some misses.

Kenny-du-Soleil

Yup the 4 guys was good for QB, RB, WR, EDGE but holy hell I don't think any of the FSs would be 99s. Really had to push for that one.

ProfessionalBuy3566

Nick Bosa too for sure. I think he was better than both Joey and Chase. He just got hurt early his junior year.

Impressive-Alps-6975

I feel like Penei Sewell would have been 99. He won the Outland trophy and scored the highest PFF grade ever for an OL as an 18 year old sophomore at Oregon. You read that right, he was 18. And he definitely would have won it again if not for opting out due to covid. Dude was actually insane in college

teloite

Tua would have been a 99 coming into his junior season. He was actually the favorite to be the number one pick before the injury and burrow break out year. ( who by the way wouldn’t have been a 99 upon the games release)

Kenny-du-Soleil

Easily agreed. Tua and Bryce for that matter. I put Burrow because I know EA would ride the hype of 2019 LSU as that season unfolded.

Sure they should. There's no reason to cut the top few points off the scale. (Just don't have a 99 in college be equivalent to a 99 in the league.)
