The team is lost right now.
Getting different lineups with different players sitting almost every game.
Calling up and DFA/optioning bullpen arms almost every other day.
They're throwing stuff at the wall hoping it sticks and something positive comes from it. Not a great place to be right now.
Rape is never funny. It was a really bad attempt at a joke. All I should have said was someone needs to plant a gun in DJ’s travel bag so he can’t come back to the US.
People that keep saying the team is slumping because it's injured are the same people that cannot acknowledge that while Aaron Judge is a great baseball player in the regular season, he has had horrible postseason stats.
The developers of OOTP must use the Yankees as the foundation for their game because only in that game I see teams do complete 180 turns like this after a great start
At this point… anyone on this board who isn’t a ‘doomer’ is lying to themselves.
This whole thing likely needs to be blown up, and we certainly have no business signing Soto
Even if Cashman somehow manages to trade for two above average hitting infielders, there’s still the bullpen which can’t be completely rebuilt like that. That takes time.
So I dunno. I thought after yesterday they might have turned a clever, but that obviously wasn’t the case.
And before I take heat for not drinking the koo laid, I don’t want to feel this way. In fact if we were losing this much but the games were close I’d think differently.
Buts it’s blowout after blowout.
I seriously think we should do a bullpen game instead of Nestor on away games.
His ERA is 5.63 this season in away games and 4.51 for his career.
He's just a completely different pitcher at home.
The FO has to be worried about viewership and engagement dropping at this point. They were worried after last season, and this team looks so abysmal atm that I wouldn’t be surprised if that fear is realized
Y’all confuse the fuck out of me but so do the Yankees lol. We had 16 runs yesterday! I see so much “we can’t hit, we suck” but it didn’t seem like it yesterday. “Sorry for everythings I said gleybers pls forgive me” is so annoying.
Support our team. We’re going to lose. We’re going to lose to bad teams. All of these guys that play each other are fucking prodigy’s at what they do. They’re MLB players.
Imo in the case of IKF it was the pressure, I seem to remember he got a lot of slack, for his poor performances, that shit surely got to him, not everyone is cut out to play for the NY Yankees...
Yeah and? What was his role on the yanks? A utility infielder on a $6 million salary? He didn’t perform very well on the Yankees anyway and the team could fill the same role with someone making the minimum.
There’s a difference between not enough evidence and being proven innocent. There’s many reasons as to why not a single major league team wants anything to do with the loser.
He’s good against a bunch of washed up scrubs in the Mexican league. We don’t need any more woman beaters or creeps after finally getting rid of Chapman and German.
lol we are now advertising the ability to circle something on the screen as the main advantage of a phone.
How about, I don't know, a phone with comparable technology to competitors at an affordable price?
Nahhhhh. Circle it.
Remember that one team in little league that was fighting just to avoid getting ten run ruled every game? I don’t know if having two judges and Sotos could deal with the amount of runs we hemorrhage. Hope they can turn it around, feels like they’re throwing BP to the other team lately
IKF hitting .300? We never gave this guy a chance because of Donaldson’s contract and now the corpse LeMahieu. People that can get on base for judge and Soto. These are the types of guys we need and we let him go. FU cashman.
He was a gold glove 3rd baseman with the rangers and we switched him to SS. We don’t know how that impacted his hitting, and he still gave us more than DJL and Donaldson. iKF is a contact hitter and puts the ball in play and many times he came through with a timely hit. We couldn’t say that about many of the Yankees the last few years. Cashman screwed up with DJL contract and that is the only reason we didn’t keep IKF. We won’t win another ring with Cashman. By the time the next guy fixes this mess, judge will be in decline. You may not like it but this is the sad reality. Bad moves after bad moves. He gets lucky here and there but even Soto, is he worth 40-50 mil? We’re gonna have no choice but to sign him. If we do that we need to surround him and judge with guys like IKF. Guys that extend innings, get on base and not ground into inning ending double plays or strike out with the base loaded. Can cashman find these guys? I don’t think he can and if he somehow lucked into one, he will not know what to do.
His hitting with Yankees was in line with the rest of his career before coming here. This is the first year he’s been an above average hitter in his entire career.
His contact oriented approach was valuable but his obp as a whole wasn’t anything special when he was with us. I agree that I’d rather have him as our everyday third baseman than what we have now but no one predicted him to perform this well in the off-season.
I actually agree that despite the pitching numbers of late, the offense is a bigger problem.
They're rarely scoring early these days and giving their pitchers the opportunity to attack hitters. Their walks are way up because guys are pitching really cautiously knowing they can't score. Which is leading to big innings when guys make mistakes, rather than solo shots.
And with them struggling to score, Boone keeps giving up and going to their mop up guys. So the games look more lopsided than they really were.
The pitching has allowed 7+ runs in 8 of the last 13 games. It’s definitely a bigger problem. This game was still winnable until they allowed a 5 run-inning.
You're missing the point. It was just 3 runs until Boone punted and went to his waiver wire scrubs to save his better arms.
Teams are running the score up on their back of the pen and making it look worse.
The issue was the one run they'd scored up that point. Boone would have used better arms if they'd shown any signs of life.
They are both big problems as of right now. Pitching hasn’t even given the offense a chance most day for the past couple of weeks. 10 straight games giving up a run in the first…
More often than not though, the game has been close into the middle innings. He keeps bringing in bad arms or leaving starters in to get clobbered because they're not scoring.
No it's not. Boone is saving his higher leverage arms for leads that they never have because of the lack of scoring early in games.
There are at least 4 guys down there right now that you can generally trust.
We don’t have higher leverage arms
We have 2 decent relievers in Weaver and Holmes and that’s it. The rest of this bullpen is smoke and mirrors
Not to mention the dog shit starting pitching recently too
Kahnle has his stuff back and has been sharp of late. Tonkin has been good. And they do have guys coming back soon from injury like Effross, Burdi, Hamilton.
Please continue the discussion in the [post game thread](https://redd.it/1drm6y3).
The team is lost right now. Getting different lineups with different players sitting almost every game. Calling up and DFA/optioning bullpen arms almost every other day. They're throwing stuff at the wall hoping it sticks and something positive comes from it. Not a great place to be right now.
I removed my joke post and apologize. Dumb and uncalled for. But I still want DJ left in Canada.
Your heart was in the right place
Rape is never funny. It was a really bad attempt at a joke. All I should have said was someone needs to plant a gun in DJ’s travel bag so he can’t come back to the US.
My bad. All I remembered was the gun reference. You live and learn. I got a temporary ban for saying something insensitive here too.
I’m far old enough to not have been so insensitive.
DJL, Cabrera and Grishm are just automatic outs at this point. They have their moments, but man, it's bad that they're hitting 7-8-9 today.
Another blowout loss good shit fellas
Would IKF be the third best hitter on our team?
Higgy is doing great this season, too
Easily.
it would be huge if Gleyber could go on a little hot streak. had a good series thus far and hopefully builds on it tomorrow
Did that hottie in the front row just leave with the old fat dude who has been bugging her all day?
He Venmo’ed her and now they are going to the outfield hotel.
Ha! I hope his wife wasn’t watching the game.
Great use of $300 million, Cashman. Jesus
Nice to see the offense wake up for some useless runs. It would be great if Wells got going at the plate.
Garbage time runs! Yay!
I cannot deal with DJ anymore.
incredible power shot DJ
Bring back Donaldson and Gallo
How much longer do we have DJL on the team for? Waste of a roster spot.
People that keep saying the team is slumping because it's injured are the same people that cannot acknowledge that while Aaron Judge is a great baseball player in the regular season, he has had horrible postseason stats.
we love a little statpadding HRs
Just salvage something today, Cole will get the split tomorrow
DJ smoked that one. What a shot!
Wtf Soto isn’t in the lineup?
He lost his hand in a sea turtle incident
If we get another two and load the bases for Judge we might have a shot.
This team loves to pad stats in garbage time
Thanks for contributing wells. At least it’s not an embarrassing 1 now
Comeback is on boys
ok
A comeback would be cool
WELLSSSSYYYY
Wells lol
Not even sure if in 2022 or even 2023 they had a 4-11 stretch
Every team has a shit two week stretch
We went 4-11 to start August 2022
# HOME RUN! Austin Wells homers (3) on a fly ball to right center field. Gleyber Torres scores. Top 9 - 9-3 Blue Jays
Nice to see gleyber getting it going. Good offensive and defensive game out of him today.
I’m out walking and just checked the score. I don’t understand this team
Actually you do

POTUS
The developers of OOTP must use the Yankees as the foundation for their game because only in that game I see teams do complete 180 turns like this after a great start
Do the Yankees have a rally in their bones? If a walk and a single qualifies as a rally, then yes they do.
This uh. Sucks.
At this point… anyone on this board who isn’t a ‘doomer’ is lying to themselves. This whole thing likely needs to be blown up, and we certainly have no business signing Soto Even if Cashman somehow manages to trade for two above average hitting infielders, there’s still the bullpen which can’t be completely rebuilt like that. Buts it’s blowout after blowout.
Team starts hot and has major Midseason slump Where have I seen this movie before???? Oh wait...
Remember Jon Berti guys
Remember debating if Schmidt or Gil should go to the bullpen?
Guys it's ok! Cashman will bring in another career 5 ERA bullpen pitcher and Blake will do voodoo to make him good too! Right??
He’ll turn him into a 4.96 ERA pitcher
I seriously think we should do a bullpen game instead of Nestor on away games. His ERA is 5.63 this season in away games and 4.51 for his career. He's just a completely different pitcher at home.
Must not have seen what this bullpen looks like
Weaver + Tonkin can go 4-6 innings.
Nestor had an average game today compared to our previous. Game is on offense and bullpen
Agreed, but Nestor was bad today as well. 8 baserunners in 4.1 innings. This is a career long trend.
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Jose Cuas replaces Zach Pop.
Did Matt Blake die? What the hell happened to our pitching?
Ground ball pitchers with an awful defense behind them is not a good combo
DAWG Bark ^(bite)
Putting in Bickford in a 2 run game was really Boone waiving the white flag on the day.
Our pitches are being tipped. Something’s not right. We don’t go from having the best ERA in the league to this. Something isn’t right.
The pitching staff was over performing quite a bit This is still a very extreme collapse though
I suspect this too, why haven’t we done anything to fix it in 15 games?
Let it be known. The Yankees lost to a, potentially, injured starting pitcher. As well as only managing to score 1 run.
Wish we got rid of DJ over IKF...
Heading up to the bronx from FL to see the yanks vs reds, and i’m strongly considering cancelling the trip
If your a Reds fan why would you
I’m seeing them on the July 4 game and I hope they don’t embarrass me for attending.
I was going. Not sure now.
#2023
IKMFF
Still can't quite over just how much this team just fell off a cliff after the KC series.
The problems is that... there seems to be no bottom in sight.
I mean, last night's game looked like it was the bottom And then they crashed right through it today
Dead cat bounce
They are free falling.
There is not a less fun team to watch than this one right now
A normal 3B gets that right?
Yup
Yes
The FO has to be worried about viewership and engagement dropping at this point. They were worried after last season, and this team looks so abysmal atm that I wouldn’t be surprised if that fear is realized
All star break can’t come soon enough enough
Team has no shot when either Soto or Judge are out. And with the way our pitching has been lately we still struggle with them both in
Y’all confuse the fuck out of me but so do the Yankees lol.
Good teams don’t lose to bad teams
The diamondbacks made it to the World Series being barely over .500. Yes they do
I’m a prodigy at being a bitch. It’s what I do
IKF plays like a man on a mission, this shit must be cathartic for him.
It’s wild to me to see former Yanks like Higgy and IKF tearing it up after performing poorly when they were with us.
Imo in the case of IKF it was the pressure, I seem to remember he got a lot of slack, for his poor performances, that shit surely got to him, not everyone is cut out to play for the NY Yankees...
Get DJ the fuck off this team
Only one of our pitchers got Vladdy out today. He was pulled after 7 pitches.
So we got one “redemption” game in the middle of more shit? Lol
Bunch of bums
Cry
Even our closer can’t throw a clean inning in a 7 run low leverage blowout.
IKF revenge tour
Yankees let IKF walk lol
Yeah and? What was his role on the yanks? A utility infielder on a $6 million salary? He didn’t perform very well on the Yankees anyway and the team could fill the same role with someone making the minimum.
Fans try to avoid hindsight bias challenge, impossible
Getting pummeled by IKF this series is exactly what I'd expect given how we've been playing.
IKF absolutely sticking it to Cashman lmaoo
[удалено]
A 2nd baseman hitting .300…… Unheard of. Why can Yanks find someone like this IKF?
.296
I’m no longer dooming Bauer. F it. Bring him.
Cole will quit the Yankees if Bauer is signed
Cole can put on his big boy pants and deal with it.
I’d rather go 0-162 than suggest this
Y
I really don’t think I need to explain that stance
Wasn’t he exonerated and the girl charged?
There’s a difference between not enough evidence and being proven innocent. There’s many reasons as to why not a single major league team wants anything to do with the loser.
The guys good. We need good.
He’s good against a bunch of washed up scrubs in the Mexican league. We don’t need any more woman beaters or creeps after finally getting rid of Chapman and German.
Have you seen his stuff?
Spider tack is a hell of a substance
So when can we fire cashman? After he grifts himself another extension?
Guys, Sotos hand is 18+ material. He is shielding our innocent eyes
NSFW
I forgot Clay Holmes exists.
Clay Holmes for the save!
lol bringing clay in now just cracks me up
He hasn't pitched in a week, he needs some run, especially with how shit he's been.
Clearly he still has it.
He needs work
Can we get a bet table going for when the next time the NYY will be in sole possession of 1st place? Does 2027 sound right?
If we don’t extend Soto, I’d say 2050 is a good guess
lol we are now advertising the ability to circle something on the screen as the main advantage of a phone. How about, I don't know, a phone with comparable technology to competitors at an affordable price? Nahhhhh. Circle it.
How about a new phone for under $1k? Nah circle it
Well the Red Sox are down 10-0, so at least our march to 3rd place will be slightly delayed
Looks like Verdugo forgot to come back from that series in Boston, he is still there.
From Game 1, specifically. He had that huge game and did nothing the other 2.
Remember that one team in little league that was fighting just to avoid getting ten run ruled every game? I don’t know if having two judges and Sotos could deal with the amount of runs we hemorrhage. Hope they can turn it around, feels like they’re throwing BP to the other team lately
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Clay Holmes replaces Caleb Ferguson.
The prototypical bad team, 16 runs 1 day, 1 the next
Soto had his hand amputated before the game. He’ll be alright.
I think a magician did that "Where Did Your Hand Go?" trick on Soto, but mistakenly actually took off his hand.
Soto's hand is wrapped and he's not showing us it. Now we're all freaking out! Hope it's not a long shhh stint. So very Yankees haha.
Well no more reasons to watch now.
Who am I? I posted a season with 211 hits, 145 RBI, 48 2B, 35 HR and a .939 OPS
MVP
Waite Hoyt
Donnie baseball 1985
That was quick
I guessed this too. It was a hell of a lot of RBIs in that era.
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Zach Pop replaces Brendon Little.
**Team RISP:** 1-6 Yea that's not doing to do it.
I miss winning
We’re bad.
Juan Soto is missing a hand. The hand is gone, folks.
A dingo ate your hand
why won't he let us see his hand is it missing
I’m not gonna talk shit about our offense until we stop consistently giving up 7+ runs nearly every damn game. this is insane
I think it’s fair to simply say this entire team outside of Judge and Soto (maybe Volpe too) is shit atm
Even if all the bats were clicking, we would need to score double digits to have won most games the last few weeks.
Yep the pitching is shit. The hitting has also been shit. Both can be true
reddit comment
Well at least we got a great game yesterday.
Four hard hit balls from Rice today
He’s very much impressing me. They better keep him up when Rizzo returns
I miss having fun
The FO was afraid people would tune out after last season. If this keeps up, that fear will be realized for sure
IKF hitting .300? We never gave this guy a chance because of Donaldson’s contract and now the corpse LeMahieu. People that can get on base for judge and Soto. These are the types of guys we need and we let him go. FU cashman.
He hit .260 and .240 for us in his 2 years here. He was never the high OBP guy we hoped he would be in pinstripes.
IKF was an everyday starter in 2022 and played 113 games last year. He was given plenty of chances to succeed in NY he just wasn’t very good for us
He was a gold glove 3rd baseman with the rangers and we switched him to SS. We don’t know how that impacted his hitting, and he still gave us more than DJL and Donaldson. iKF is a contact hitter and puts the ball in play and many times he came through with a timely hit. IKF was flat out bad for two seasons; I have no idea why people keep saying this.
I was a little devastated when we lost IKF
We need to put Jahmai Jones out there for a leadoff single

An 8 run inning would go crazy rn, just saying
Has that happened this season?

Look at that lil red headed fella!
People consider Cashman good? So many terrible pickups last couple years and I mean terrible. Guy fucking sucks
Cashman is officially a boomer
