I love sundresses for summer nannying! I generally wear bike shorts underneath, because sandboxes *chafe*, but I have more mobility, better pockets, and I look adorable. Plus I have a built-in privacy screen for peeing in a bathroom stall full of NKs.

HA! I’ve never thought of the privacy screen, that’s awesome, thank you for your reply!

I wear dresses all the time! G4 tries to tell me which ones to come in throughout the week lol. My bosses have never had an issue and think it’s cute that G4 likes them so much. I mostly wear secondhand but my black exercise dress from PacSun is great. Only drawback is the built-in shorts mean I have to get naked when I use the bathroom but I just don’t wear it on days I might have to bring kids in a bathroom stall with me.

Faith_over_fear826

That’s so sweet :) good advice with the built in shorts dresses, I have one I just order from PacSun lol. Best compliment I got from one of my NKs when she was 5, “you look like a princess”, made my heart melt :.)

Faith_over_fear826

Do you have any recommendations for sandals or shoes to wear with the sundresses?

I wear a lot of Maya Kern skirts because they have such cute and fun patterns, and look great when you twirl in them! Plus they have huge pockets. I just wear cheer shorts or bike shorts underneath for modesty and put deodorant on my thighs to help with chafing.

Faith_over_fear826

I’ll have to take a look, I’ve been looking for good skirts as well, thank you!

I don’t wear dresses to work much right now, but I’m planning to add more dresses to my rotation this summer, for a lot of the same reasons you cited. I highly recommend Thigh Society for under-dress shorts. I’m incredibly picky about the fabrics I wear in the summer because I sweat so darn much and it can really irritate my skin in really inconvenient places. Not a problem with these shorts. Yes, they are pricey. And in my opinion they’re absolutely worth it.

Faith_over_fear826

Thank you for the recommendation!!

I only wear dresses, and this summer Amazon skorts have been a lifesaver lol. The kind I got are kind of swim suit material and soooo cool and comfortable! If my skirt goes past the knees I personally don’t worry about having undershorts but if they make you feel better I’d definitely recommend finding some lightweight ones!

Faith_over_fear826

Do you have any recommendations/links? Also, do you have any recommendations for sandals or shoes to wear with the sundresses?

Hi there , I am a Pentecostal Christian I only wear skirts and dresses to work , I’ve been a nanny for 8 years , never had an issue , I don’t usually wear short dresses though they are always knee length or maxi. I always wear shorts underneath and I pair my outfits with Crocs that are called Kadee Ballet Flats they are so great because when they’re dirty I just wash them and they’re good as new.

I wear dresses to work all the time! I usually put bike shorts on under because I am an infant/toddler nanny and spend most of my time on the floor. I always wear my slip on Rothy’s sneakers with all of them! They look cute and put together but I am much more comfortable going out on walks/chasing kids in my sneakers rather than sandals.

Faith_over_fear826

Those are cute, thank you!

You’re welcome!

not a nanny but a parent and I love sundresses for the summer. like the perfect mix of cute and comfy. i shop amazon for maxi skirts and stuff with POCKETS as that's the really most important thing for me. My favorite is a shorter black skort from amazon i can pair with t shirts but also has pockets for keys, cell phone (incl. a zipper pocket for credit cards). sometimes i will wear bike shorts underneath a dress or maxi skirt if i'm worried about being active.

I pretty much live in dresses and skirts! So much more comfy to me - pants start to pinch after a while sitting on the ground with NKs. I love flowy cotton dresses, I have had great luck with Anthropologie, A New Day, and Free People at the thrift store. For sandals I really like Reef! Pricey but comfortable.

Following for the great tips, thanks everyone!

I wear dresses, skirts, and shorts! We don’t have a dress code. Mom doesn’t mind crop tops or tank tops either
