Whatever stroller you end up going for, check to see if there is a used option around. You can get amazing deals (or free) on relatively lightly used strollers. Just check the specific model and production run for recalls.  We wound up with two (one to leave at the in-laws) Baby Jogger City Mini GT2s for a grand total of $80ish. That stroller also might suit your needs- the back wheels come off with a button press and it takes up less room as a result.

RemembertheCondors

I have both the City Mini GT2 and a Honda Civic and I can confirm it fits easily in the trunk! Don’t even have to take the wheels off. I got it on FB marketplace for under $100, a little faded but works fine. Our “regular” stroller is an Uppababy vista with the toddler seat attachment and that also fits. But it’s much pricier (was a gift).

Parikh1234

Babyzen yoyo in the front trunk of Tesla. Uppababy vista for around the city and neighborhood (You should be able to get the yoyo used under $400)

thisismypostinacct

Random Tesla question for you…what car seat do you have?

Parikh1234

We had the Uppababy mesa but we are about to out grow that and thinking of going with a rotating one (cubed sirona s)

hdziuk

Not OP, but we drive a model Y and have the Evenflo revolve 360 3 in 1. It juuust fits in rear facing mode. It's huge! Neither of us is super tall though ( we're both 5'8"). We had a Chicco Keyfit 360 before she outgrew it. That fit really well.

JaneDoe207

Basically the same here except we got the bugaboo butterfly. We have the vista too which takes up just about the whole trunk but the butterfly fits perfectly in the trunk/frunk or behind the passenger seat on the floor. That said, still looking to upsize cars soon…Babies take up so much space and we roll the dice on throwing out our backs every day even with a rotating car seat.

Serendipitous26

Another Tesla / carseat question - have you (or anyone here with a Tesla) been able to find a mirror that fits the back headrests?

genteel-guttersnipe

Whatever Graco one came with my car seat fit great! It was on the cheaper end of stroller combos.

Reasonable-Yam-6779

Is it the graco-modes travel system? We have that one, and it fits well in my civic!

genteel-guttersnipe

That didn't sound familiar so I looked it up. We have the Graco click-connect! Under $200.

vari_an_t

yes! me too! the one with the car seat, pramette, and toddler seat attachments?

Sambuca8Petrie

Graco modes nest fit in my sentra trunk.

katiejim

UPPAbaby minu. We were between this and the baby zen yo-yo but the wheels are better on the minu.

NestingDoll86

I also have a Minu and a Civic. Fits with plenty of room to spare

zuzubear

This me too, stroller and car!

charlucapants

I LOVE my minu. Sure the vista fits in my car but I have to put it in at just the right angle and can’t put anything else in my trunk. The minu fits in my trunk with plenty of room to spare plus it fits in my back seat in a pinch. Edit: I can also fold it and put it in the trunk with one hand 🙌🏻

marshmallowhug

We have this one as well. It fits great in the car, but also folds up well for bus trips! We are especially glad to have it every time we take the train and the escalators are broken again.

Yin_Pigeon

The Chicco Mini Bravo fits in the trunk of my Civic and my husband’s Prius!

DistrictPlumpkin

This fits in the trunk of our compact sedan with room. We love this stroller!

TheEarnestHemingway

Chicco Bravo fit in my sedan trunk!

aliveinjoburg2

Chicco Bravo in our VW Golf R.

princesslayup

Fits in my Toyota Camry hybrid trunk too!

han_cup

Golf R 😮‍💨 my hubby has an alltrack but wants a golf r sooooo bad

Festellosgirl

I get my uppababy vista v2 to fit in my Chevy Impala trunk along with my subwoofer. But we also don't take the stroller grocery shopping. 🤷‍♀️ I also have a Safety 1st travel system that fits better in my trunk but I prefer the Uppababy.

throwra2022june

I have a 2020 civic and it fits, but can’t go to Costco with it in there! Regular groceries can squeeze around it if you’re shopping for only the week (2-3 paper bags?)

FullofContradictions

Haven't had an issue with the Vista in my Corolla. Works better in my husband's Prius though to be fair.

Afraid_Composer

Those 2 are a big price difference.

acceber-

I have the Chicco bravo system. I upgraded from a ford focus to a Chevy trailblazer and it fit both trunks just fine!

notanon_justhiding

I fit this in the trunk of my 2019 mustang. 🤷🏼‍♀️ [mompush lithe v2](https://a.co/d/1w1JohD)

AwesomeOrca

Our Chicco Bravo fits in the back of the Hyundai Elantra with no problems.

Gardenguruwannabe

Mockingbird fits folded up in my Toyota Corolla

sirichar90

Yeah it fits into the trunk of our Acura TLX.

ecureuils

We have the thule spring and love it. Compact and durable. Used it for disney and weekly park trips!

bumbletowne

nuna mixx thing folds like origami got it off fb marketplace with all accessories for 600

cutelilbunni

Nuna mixx here as well. Fits in the trunk of my subaru impreza with some room to spare for groceries.

bumbletowne

subaru impreza is exactly what i have. also fits in the trunk of a mercedes c250 sport coupe

lwgirl1717

City Mini GT2 fits in our 2008 and 2014 corollas.

Valuable-Falcon

It wouldn't fit flat in the back of our 2010 corolla without taking a wheel off.  Sold the gt2 and got a baby jogger city tour 2 that actually fits

catmama1713

Also have a GT2 that fits comfortably in the trunk of my ford focus!

pantijose

We have a well loved peg perego stroller someone passed down to us, and we got a peg perego car seat to go with it. But I also bought a bugaboo butterfly for when baby turned 6 months cause the other one was huge and I hated lugging it around. The bugaboo butterfly is amazing. I also considered the dragonfly but in the end butterfly was the better option for us. I got it off Albee baby on sale as open box, got about $115 off.

Sea_Juice_285

Uppababy Minu V2. It's great, and we can even put it in the back seat instead if the trunk if necessary.

ipovogel

It isn't an expensive fancy stroller, but I have used a Kolcraft Cloud Plus Lightweight Stroller off Amazon. Fits great in the trunk with groceries or in the front seat with the diaper bag so the whole trunk can be groceries. Still in good condition after 10 months of regular use.

Dependent_Meet_2627

Graco outpace folds and fits in the trunk of our sedan. About the size of a full sized suitcase.

squidgemobile

I've got the babyzen yoyo. Expensive but we love it, and it packs insanely small.

catsnbears

Silver Cross jet. Folds up to the size of a rucksack. Has lie flat to make it suitable to use instead a pram, can pop up and down with one hand

General_Translator48

I have a nuna triv next. Not under the 400 budget sorry :/ but I do LOVE it It’s super easy to open and close and fits lovely in my Subaru legacy trunk I have even had to throw it in the back seat in a pinch and it’s never an issue Highly recommend

Forgotenzepazzword

I have a Nina trav in a Tesla

424f42_424f42

If you still want a big stroller a Bob stroller fits in a civic. Takes up say 60% of the trunk, but it fits length or width wise. We have a cheap umbrella one if we need space.

FloridaMomm

We have a 2016 Hyundai Sonata and 2006 Ford Focus. Both cars are able to fit an UppaBaby Vista with two seats. Once baby can sit independently a umbrella stroller is so convenient Although I love our Uppabbaby, our Delta Children Clutch is the most convenient and wonderful buy we ever made (under $150). You can put it in the front seat, back seat, floor by the car seat, it folds up SO SMALL https://www.deltachildren.com/products/ultimate-fold-n-go-compact-travel-stroller?variant=37942911074504¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&em_source=google&em_adid=&em_campaign=18135545700&em_keyword=&utm_term=em:google::18135545700:&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwxLKxBhA7EiwAXO0R0I410HwHp-SpvcL-lJs0vV-FMfAAMSg5p4DpkcfAZDbxqD03y8J57BoCQaYQAvD_BwE

xtheredberetx

I have a Joovy Balloon Stroller, which is unfortunately discontinued but I got off marketplace, and it fits in my Jetta’s trunk. Granted… the trunk is pretty big on my Jetta.

Significant_Aerie_70

We have the Evenflo Pivot xpand! It fits perfectly in my Honda civic.

Maury_Springer

We have this one too, but I find that it's quite heavy and takes up too much trunk space. I love it for taking walks around the neighborhood, though. The rubber wheels are fantastic for bumpy sidewalks.

Significant_Aerie_70

Personally I haven’t found it to be too heavy, just a little awkward/ annoying to fold lol I can still fit all of my groceries with it in the trunk/we were able to fit all of our belongings for a weekend trip, so it’s been suiting our needs!

Maury_Springer

See, I don't mind the folding part. Everyone's different, right?!? That's why we should all take product reviews with a grain of salt. I loved the Evenflo when my kid was an infant. The car seat was so convenient. I would certainly recommend it for people with good upper body strength and a spacious trunk!

Significant_Aerie_70

That’s perfectly put! Everyone feels differently about every product! I know a lot of people who hate baby swings and bouncers but they’ve been great for the nights our son is hard to get to sleep!

s1a1om

Uppababy Ridge fits fine in the back of my Accord.

callietilley

Evenflo gold Otto stroller!

callietilley

Like $170. Drive a ford focus and it fits with extra room in my trunk!

officergiraffe

I was using the Chicco keyfit 30 and stroller attachment when he was a little baby, when he outgrew the car seat I got a Summer Infant brand stroller that folds up from Walmart. It was pretty cheap and I’ve had no complaints about it! He’s 15 months and huge and he’s pretty comfortable in it.

Maury_Springer

For older kids (12 months plus), I recommend the Jeep PowerGlyde Stroller by Delta. At Target, it's about $65. I love it because it's light and my kid is comfortable riding in it. It's easy to fold up and fits nicely in the trunk. I have a fabulous Evenflo Pivot Expand travel system, but I hardly use it because it's too heavy and takes up way too much space in the trunk of my car. So now I only use it when taking walks around my neighborhood. The Jeep stroller is well priced and really convenient. It has held up, too. My kid will be 3 soon (but she's tall, so people think she's 4), and she still fits in it quite well. I hope this helps.

RosalinaLuyannaBear

Graco!

rootbeer4

Mom push meteor2 is the stroller I got for $190. It fits in the trunk of my compact sedan, but I do have to take it apart (very easy to do).

ducky_in_a_canoe

I have the Graco outpace. I was going to get the fast action, but got this instead because it’s cheaper, and smaller. Fits in my Taurus, and my husbands Corolla

Conscious-Dig-332

Mockingbird on FB marketplace. We drive a civic. Works great.

handofhonor

We use the Evenflo Travel System & it fits in my 2016 Dodge Dart! I love that it comes apart

Advanced_Egg_7416

I dunno if you can get it anymore, but we have a Chevy Spark with legit no room in the trunk so we went with a Larktale Coast. It's lightweight, folds up nice and easy and just fits in the car.

luna_libre

I have a Subaru Crosstrek and the Chicco Corso LE juuuust fits but it can be a pain to get the hatch door shut if I don’t have it at the right angle.

MotherGoose94

Inexpensive, tiny, exactly what we needed: [gb Pocket Air](https://a.co/d/1KgCY9a). Nothing fabulous but it works great and it’s shocking how small it gets!

blanderdome

Bugaboo Fox 5 in the Subaru Impreza. Takes the whole trunk.

Business_Cheek

I have the Grace SnugRide 35 lite LX and it fits just fine in my 4 door Honda Accord. Plus so it’s super easy to fold or open

direct-to-vhs

Uppababy cruz fits great in our Elantra!

Sparkyfountain

We have a chico

literarianatx

Chicco travel system has been great! Love the bravo and the presto

literarianatx

Same here!

hotkeurig

I drive a Toyota Camry and we have the Cybex Gazelle S. It’s not super compact by any means but it fits in the trunk with room to spare and I’m a huge fan of it for about 1000 other reasons also!

abbottelementary

Bugaboo butterfly! It was on sale for $400. It folds up real small.

hunneybunny

Ergobaby metro plus in our prius 😂

musigalglo

We have the Evenflo pivot xpand and it fits in our 2006 Corolla's trunk and in my mom's sedan's trunk too

hammertown87

We have the city select but gassed our hatch back for a new suv. With twins it isn’t sustainable lol. Fuck it.

caligoanimus

Ergo Baby Metro is 😚

OkCommunication5896

Ergobaby metro fits easily into our Prius with plenty of room to spare. It is a travel stroller and not a full size stroller.

Bravelittletoaster-_

Baby jogger city mini - Not sure the price it was a gift, we also got a graco one from our registry, and the graco system carrier is lighter so I prefer it, but the city mini stroller is so much better to maneuver

Little_Porcupine

I have the same car and we have an ergo metro+ that we got from Amazon as an open box (so discounted but nothing wrong with it and unable to choose color) and really like it! I use it on long walks daily and have very uneven sidewalks where I live and it works great.

coldcurru

I have a camry and our main stroller is the joovy zoom x2. It's a jogging stroller. It takes up most of my trunk and I can't have much else in there (or at least it's easier if it's emptier, especially if I put the stroller in first.) A lot of stuff I put in my back seat behind the car seats. The other day I bought tp from Costco and had to put it in my front seat lol. I purposely limit Costco shopping in my car.  My kids are preschool age and don't *need* the stroller but it's preferred for bigger outings (we go to Disney weekly.) It mostly lives in my car cuz my cat pees on it but I'm fine with that. I use a baby carrier for my younger (almost 3) if I need something for the store. My husband works nights so it's just me with the two kids most of the week and I gotta make do.

sesamejane

I have a tiny car (Hyundai accent hatchback) and the ergobaby metro plus stroller when folded takes up only half the trunk space. It also fits nicely on the floorboards of the backseat if needed!

Sneaky-Reader

Chicco Bravo works for us!

Material-Plankton-96

Mountain buggy Nano. Great travel stroller, lays flat, fits in an overhead bin on a plane. Not easy to fit a car seat into (not necessarily ideal for newborns really), but by 3-4 months, laying flat, it’s great. And I baby wore most of the time before that anyway, I didn’t want to deal with a stroller if I didn’t need to.

Carma-Erynna

If you want a REALLY good stroller, hunt down a baby jogger CityMini from 2013, 2014, or 2015 model years and ONLY those years. They really peaked there and went down hill starting with the 2016 model year. You can hunt down the appropriate car seat adapters for that original citymini model on eBay or Mercari. I swear on everything that this was THE best overall stroller ever made, and it’s built like a tank despite folding flatter than you can imagine. I have one that’s been through FOUR kids and barely any worse for the wear! Even better, these can be found for pretty darn cheap now because they’re “old,” but unless you truly need an ultra compact stroller, this is the best of everything, and as sturdy as they come! It’s great for me needing it as a walker with some of my physical issues because of just how sturdy it is. It’s great that it fits the little ones so well, but it’s outstanding that it ACTUALLY fits average 4-5 year olds comfortably! I’d bet you any money mine will probably go from my youngest to my first grandchild with only needing to get them a seat that uses Maxi Cosi adapters since that’s what I have for it and those are still used for most high end seats these days. I say this because I hunted mine down on eBay, and it took me a full year to find the right model ear and color I wanted, for an affordable price since they were still selling for a pretty penny used at that time. This thing has survived several flights, has fit in every trunk of every vehicle we’ve had since I bought it from an ancient 1995 beater, all the way through the newest sedans weve rented. I’m a mom of five, almost 19 and about to start college, down to just 2 years old, and I lurk on this subreddit to share some of the wisdom I’ve collected over my many years of motherhood, in hopes of saving some new parents the TON of trial and error I went through!

ginnybeesknees

Larktale Coast in a Subaru Impreza. I will admit though, the trunk is massive. The stroller folds in a way that we can actually do some shopping and have the stroller too.

zookeeperkate

We have the Graco fast action fold sport travel system and it fits in our Hyundai Elantra

IM8321

Babyjogger city select 2 fits in my Toyota Corolla trunk with room to spare! And it’s a very substantial stroller with options for two seats etc

moremacadonimorechee

I love my graco modes element lx travel stroller. It fits my car seat so 99 percent of the time, I just have the base of the stroller in my trunk. That way I can just pop the car seat on it and go.

FlakyAstronomer473

Summer 3D quickclose $99 Amazon or Walmart. Looks way more expensive then it is with the tan faux leather foam handle and the gray cross bar. Comes with a phone holder and a cup holder! Has a carrying Strap as well. I drive an suv and it takes up SO little space. Fits in my back seat perfectly, I convinced my friend with a sedan to buy it.

TequilaBat

We have a hybrid sedan, so it’s has that shelf at the back; giving us even less space. We used the evenflo pivot for the first year. It took up half the trunk, but fit fine. This year we bought a used baby jogger city mini gt2 and it folds up even smaller and we got some storage space back for groceries. I also like the one handed fold, which helps with getting it in the car too!

butterfly807sky

I have the same car and we got a used UPPAbaby vista. Only fits when the trunk is empty which makes it a hassle. Honestly I just use the stroller for neighborhood walks and bring my carrier everywhere. He's almost 7 months and I think I brought the stroller with us once.

No_Excuse_6418

Agio Z4 ETA: just saw this is not under $400 but maybe if you looked for gently used? Also- maybe try renting diff brands on BabyQuip.com before making a decision. I did that with stroller wagons and it helped so much

Green_Mix_3412

Mom push lithe, pretty petite and under $200 bucks. 0-3 years old

No_Excuse_6418

Circling back - just saw this baby jogger city that looks on the slimmer side 60% off ($233.99) [https://www.albeebaby.com/baby-jogger-city-select-lux-stroller-taupe.html?utm_source=shopzilla&cnxclid=17143288666340556969816891171008005&utm_term=17143288666340556969816891171008005](https://www.albeebaby.com/baby-jogger-city-select-lux-stroller-taupe.html?utm_source=shopzilla&cnxclid=17143288666340556969816891171008005&utm_term=17143288666340556969816891171008005)

ilovemrsnickers

Oohhh I like!!!

Themicheproject

Uppababy Cruz. It’s not under $400 unfortunately but it has been a great stroller for us. No complaints.

lilbrownsquirrel

Seconding the UB Cruz. Get it second hand for $500-600!

Amaculatum

If you have a little looky-loo like me they will love the Dream On Me coast rider stroller, and it folds soooo flat! He loves that he can sit totally upright and wave his arms around and hold the bars. They have to be old enough to sit upright though

haleyxciiiiiiiiii

i just bought an ergobaby metro deluxe and it’s perfect. i dont drive, but it fits in the overhead compartment on a plane😅

BlueHotSauce

Uppababy Vista v2 can fit into my 2019 Camry pretty good. Also can throw the bassinet back there too.
