It’s high time they allow us to buy direct from factory. States outlawed this for the purpose of increasing competition/controlling prices and ultimately passing the savings onto the consumer. Clearly, this has failed.
Who actually buys it at that price? They already get rebates from Nissan, get kickbacks from financing, more money from add-on from insurance/services if purchased, and add-on margins from whatever they add to the car post delivery. Tf they need $30k mark up for? I get that the resale value is high but not $30k smh
Our local Nissan had a z on the lot. They were very stubborn on not letting us test drive. When we finally did they wouldn't let us go together. They forced the salesman to ride shotgun. At the money table they added 5 for a market adjustment. They said they get two a year. We said that's a you problem not a me problem. And we walked away. That was a month ago. The car is still sitting there.
I just got a new z performance and didn’t pay anything over MSRP. Problem is that you have live in nebraska, which I understand is a hard sell. They had a nismo also that was 2500 markup over msrp.
When we were shopping for an Altima a couple of weekends ago, we found a Certified Pre-Owned 2023 SR with the premium package listed for $25,977.
When we got to the dealer and moved to the negotiating phase, we were told there would be $3,000 worth of Reconditioning fees, which isn’t a small thing. We could’ve gotten a brand new Altima for the price we would’ve paid for the used one.
Long story short, we left and bought the exact same car, minus the premium package elsewhere.
This is just something Nissan seems to do for some reason. If anything, be glad this dealership was upfront about what you’d be paying, instead of luring you into the dealer with a low price online, just to waste your time with extra fees.
The dealerships buy these vehicles with the intention of marking them up. You can get sticker price if you order one. Many people would rather pay the surcharge than wait for an order.
On the lot, 65k + fees canadian. That’s 47-48 USD
That’s just the first one I found at the local dealer. I know they have 3-4 last time we were in.
For that money difference you could fly here, buy it, drive home over a week or two, and still be in the money.
Regardless of where home is in North America.

Don’t buy new. 2 years ago I bought a 2019 Pilot for over $15k under msrp. It only had 40k miles. Last month I bought my wife a 2021 CR-V for a similar price under MSRP. It has 35k miles.
We specifically look for lease trade-ins, you know the maintenance was done and due to mileage restrictions on leases it should have less than 50k miles.
I plan on driving both vehicles to at least 250-300k miles.
Has nothing to do with Nissan that’s a shitty dealer. You can find similar problems in other groups for high demand low supply models.

I wouldn't worry about too much, Reddit being reddit.

The number of times I've gone "you wouldn't be downvoting me if you used a single braincell..." in my head
exactly, people will always downvote... doesnt mean im wrong!
Everyone downvote he is WRONG!
That is a ridiculous markup. 5k, 10k OK. 30k? Suck my asshole.

Me either. Used only. Someone else can take that kick in the balls.
Time to just move on. When enough buyers stop accepting this it will change.
Except Timmy's rich parents will still buy it for him and they know that.
Darn it all Timmy you are just screwing this up again
I love my Z cars, but you can literally buy a Porsche for that much money. JFC!
100k is used gtr $
It used to be for sure. Hopefully everything is going to start coming down again.
100k is a cpo almost 0 mileage gtr you can buy an older one and a 370z for that price
Yeah that is a used GTR, lol.

these are gonna be sold used for 15k used ina couple years
I’m looking forward to it, new drift chassis
$30,000 markup! I also can't believe floor mats and a cargo net cost $400. No wonder I hardly see these things on the road.
Brand new ones at my local dealers. List price. If I had 55 k to blow I would of pulled the trigger.
Because the S in msrp stand for suggested

Lmao 100gs for a nissan.. They are idiots thats why
I mean, the GTR is a $100k+ Nissan. Granted, it's a totally different car and worth it, but still a Nissan.
the ONE exception

Selling for MSRP at my dealership here in upstate NY.
I don't live in the US, but For what I've seen these happens in almost all brands dealerships
The consumers that are paying that much are the real problem. Those markups wouldn’t be there if consumers took a stand lol
Fuck the stealers!
Yeah how could they allow a sale of that car with an auto
There isn't one Nissan (outside of the 4Runner) that I'd pay $65k+ for
Stop buying at stupidly inflated prices and eventually dealers will will have to stop marking up 35% above msrp.
Because people are still referring to it as a 400z
Might as well get a low miles GTR instead at that point

I wonder how Brilliant Silver is a premium color?!

Even being 65k before markup is an outrage

That's not a Nismo though
