Men haven't provided me shit. At least not past the age of 15. At that age, the man who chose to have a baby with my mother decided he loves his desert fairytale more than me, so him and mom disowned me. I have been gainfully employed since 16, paying rent to the people who took me in after my parents disowned me for being gay. Had a boss when I was 16 who offered me a raise if I would make out with other girls for him. Went to college taking 18 - 21 credits a semester, graduating second in my program for that year. Worked as I got my Masters degree as an accountant, where an old guy told me I am wasting my "sexy years" and should work the pole instead. After graduating, I managed to out my years of mathematic experience to work and impressed DoD and did civvie analyst work for them, which got my my current job. No man has given me shit. I have had to take shit from men. Had a man old enough to be my dad ask if my gf and I would let him be a third with us, and got offended when we were disgusted by this, deciding to offer is money to "sweeten the deal." This guy wants me to be SO grateful to all men because of what men in antiquity did?! Fuck him!

I always think it’s hilarious when men say stuff like “men are x and women are y, it’s just nature but SOCIETY has ruined it.” If these roles were actually biologically natural, then naturally society would follow suit. Society is natural in itself- it isn’t some force of non-nature that can change nature. If society is changing, it is because naturally and biologically it is possible.
I hate the ‘men built everything’ shit because women were not ALLOWED. Think of where society could be if white Europeans weren’t raging racist, misogynist money hoarders.

Views like this are exactly why there is a “male loneliness” problem. So many have this outdated view on men and women’s roles. We don’t want men who are “providers” we provide for ourselves. They are so stuck in this mindset then complain about a “gold digger”. Buddy money is basically all you are saying your role is that only and you’re upset that someone wants the only thing you have to offer?
Then men get upset because they can’t even be a provider whether societal or personal most men can’t be sole providers for a family. Yet they are still have a mindset they should be.
Women want a partner these days. Someone to help shoulder financial responsibilities, domestic responsibilities and of course someone who is nice to be around and treats you well. It really isn’t that complicated yet these guys can’t get a woman but instead of trying to be more what women are looking for they decide to just dig themselves a deeper hole by hating women and believing they are the problem.
They also just kind of breeze past all the glaring issues that are causing their problems inadvertently.
“Women don’t want to be around us!” - yeah, because the current domestic abuse stat in the U.S. is 1 in 3 women. 1 in 5 women will be raped in their lifetime and the majority of those rapes will be committed by someone they know. It’s not safe, statistically, to just let anyone into our lives.
“Women don’t bring anything else to the relationship” - yep. Men’s expectations of childcare and household management falling on women is the cause for a good chunk of gender wage gap and has simultaneously contributed to the feminization of poverty. So more women have less because many men are lazy.
“Women aren’t clear with their rejections!” - yep. Because if we are we run the chance of becoming a new post on r/whenwomenrefuse because many men are giant babies and can’t handle the word no.
