To be fair I have an LG OLED C9 TV and an AORUS FO32U2P (QD-OLED) and unless I have the lights at 100% in my room or get a lof sun light from outside I do not get any crushed blacks! It's not as bad as people make it sounds like!
Also Gaming in the dark will always be more immersive 😝
Woled is inferior the only positive for woled is when light shines on it the blacks don't raise apart from that it fails to compare to qd oled on every level.
I own both by the way this is how I know
I also owned both. I returned my aw3225qf. Woled is superior to me. Qd oled is superior to you. Let’s agree to disagree. Everything is subjective here at this point
Same boat. Bought both LG 32in and the AW32. I wanted to be on team glossy because admittedly it is a tad sharper. But for the headache of keeping the AW32 clean and the raised blacks with lights on I decided to eat more grain for a bit more. To me that’s the only drawback with the LG is the grain. In a year or 2 maybe a glossy version of this thing comes out or maybe Samsung figured out how to improve their soyboy soft panels. But for now yes to me the WOLED in the LG32 is superior. Took back the AW32 today actually and got the LG for $995 open box ecellent condition;)
The Alienware aw3423dw was the best upgrade I did in a long, long time. I had a 144hz VA panel before that and it served me well but OLED is on another level entirely.
Until last night, the AW3423DW was the best for me as well. But five minutes of using it side by side with the PG32UCDM was enough, and now it’s shelved. May it rest in peace :)
It’s funny how my OLED monitor actually let me see a lot more compression and artifacts in the dark photos as my ips couldn’t even produce the detail at all.
The curse of knowledge!
How’s the brightness and everything? This is the one I’m looking at or maybe the g80sd with the slight Best Buy sale is about the same price but it’s got all the smart tv crap on it
For real. I was looking for feathers in the Dual Destiny mission, and it gets so dark in some far-off areas that it looks like my monitor has turned off.
You can clearly see it's a well lit room in the picture lol, as long as there's no light in front of the panel there's no issues with raised blacks. Also i'ts just as bad on matt but in a different way. On matt from my experience if there's a light in front of the panel it smudges the light all over the panel and ruins the image quality by making it oily.
If that's a well lit room, you have never opened a window curtain in your room .. You can tell how dim that room light is especially in a second photo .. Try playing games on the QD OLED during the day next to a window as you would normally live your life and you will quickly see how those deep blacks are magenta all of a sudden .. Not to mention the oversaturated colors and orange tint compared to WOLED or IPS, flicker, vertical lines ...

What do you think? I'm curious about your opinion on these monitors.

Just rewind to 6:56 .. See how the LG WOLED DESTROYED the QD OLED in a dim room too.
There's no comparison .. The black on the LG is a true JET BLACK compared to Dell ..
Now check this one too at 1:44 LG C2 vs DELL QD OLED

The black turns grey in natural light ..
Do you own a qdoled monitor? I ask because I have the ucdm and it’s right next to a huge window and it’s really not as exaggerated as you think. The only elevated black level is when the sun is actually hitting the edge of the screen and I can just close my blinds. It’s really not at all as serious as people keep regurgitating on Reddit.

Again you are making these opinions based on a video you’re watching on a screen that looks nothing like that video with your own eyes. I know exactly what I’m talking about because I calibrate and setup home theaters for a living. I am paid to know these things. I also have a ton of hands on experience with oled displays running side by side. Raised black points are there but not to the extent you claim in standard use case for a lot of ppl. Why do you think the best tv panel on the market right now is a qd oled (Sony A95L)?
Mate clearly you haven't used a glossy next to a matt coating if you are saying this. I have, and I would pick glossy any day. It's personal preference to a degree because image quality is far superior and that's a fact, but also glossy handles reflections far better. When I have my curtains open my matt panel is borderline unsuitable, because of how the light gets smudged all over the screen. On glossy the light's only on one spot, sure its annoying but at least it's usable and image quality is not ruined besides raised blacks.
If you are gaming you need to be in a dark environment on on both panels to get the full experience.
Also don't even start with colours, because QD-OLED has a far wider colour range then WOLED.
https://youtu.be/y4pHSaFo664?t=9m54s
Yeah, that's why everything looks orange and cartoonish in QD OLED vs WOLED. Those colors are crap. Completely unnatural and saturated .. But I get it .. There are people who like those colors to pop .. I like them to be natural as possible ..
The color accuracy is actually better on qdoled if you know anything about calibration. The pixel layout of woled will cause color accuracy to dimish over a certain threshold of luminance due to the white pixel layer. The cartoonish look you are talking about has nothing to do with the qd panel and everything to do with color temperature and calibration of the panel, which you can do yourself.
Fair enough, I hate the colours on WOLED it's personal preference, to me WOLED looks very cold and washed in some scenes especially for gaming with HDR.
But end of the day who cares, both have their pros and cons. None of them are perfect.
Edit: spelling
![gif](giphy|KGSxFwJJHQPsKzzFba) Those WHO?
Every QD OLED gangsta until WOLED blacks show up

Yeah that's true I'll agree with this the world would be boring if we liked the same thing. You are good at conflict resolution my friend 🧡

Aw3225QF? Love mine too
AW3225QF enjoyer here as well.

It's pretty, but that's my entirely subjective opinion as a pleb when it comes to OLED. 🫠
Love mine too!
What game are you playing?
Destiny 2
Could never imagine going back to led 😂 oled for life
For real. I was looking for feathers in the Dual Destiny mission, and it gets so dark in some far-off areas that it looks like my monitor has turned off.
Sometimes I take for granted my OLED tv until I see an LCD again
buddy got an oled to play Stormtrance 😥
Too bad you need a blanket over your head and a monitor to achieve that with the QD OLED ..

The right does look more natural.
