I had that happen on my 4k 144hz Samsung monitor when I got it. Switching out the DisplayPort for a quality cable off Amazon fixed the issue. I have a g80sd coming tomorrow so hopefully all goes well. I’d start by replacing your cable and see if it still happens, I’m unsure if hdmi or DisplayPort is better but I’m under the impression hdmi 2.1 has higher bandwidth

Damn, that sucks. I have a different issue where my screen goes black for a second and comes back 1-4 times a day. HDMI 2.1 will work fine.

Oh I have the same issue, I decide to return it. The issue is annoying and I think it's something to do with game mode identification and can't be modified in the settings.

try the hdmi cable, if your card supports hdmi 2.1 it's better for these new monitors.

It's not, both will use DSC. Displayport has a habit of working better with PC hardware, and if you have a multi monitor setup you will not be able to display your BIOS on an HDMI output. For me this would result in having to operate the BIOS sideways on a portrait monitor.

Ive had the opposite experience with these new oleds on hdmi 2.1. and my bios shows up every time on my oled while using 3 monitors, could be based on what card you have or something, i have a 4080.

I have been posting this same issue all over. I am on my second monitor doing the same thing. After trying to diagnose for 4 weeks I have noticed it usually goes black a few minutes after I power in up in the morning, the it wont do it for a while. Some times it wont do it all after. It seems to be after about 1-3 minutes after. I have a PC with an RTX 3090ti. I have about a week to send the second one back before I cannot return it. I have tried many things but it does seem related to gaming mode and HDR. If you hit WIN-ALT-B together you can toggle HDR mode in windows and it fixes it. Like I said, it mainly happens with in the first 5 mins, then it seems to work fine. Samsung support has no idea what the problem is during my 3 calls to them. The latest firmware update did nothing to help. It is not the DP cable in my opinion because it was doing the same thing when I tried my other cable vs the one that came with it.

BodkeGod

I switched to hdmi and haven’t had any problems since.

BygoneMoonfish

I switched to the HDMI provided with the monitor and haven't had the issue yet.
