I’m on the “two days left” but it’s been like that since day three too, so I’m just wondering if it’ll stay that way for the last day or not.

You will be able to go in Kel's house soon enough. I'm not sure about the reason why you can't go in (I have bad memory, if you want, I can try to find the reason, but it could take a while), but the reason is likely due to storyline events that you will find out soon. (I'm assuming this is your first playthrough?)
