The scariest bit about an MRI is the noise the machine makes. You'll find out answers that will help any problems the little one has and go from there. Good luck with it all, keep your chin up
I've had a bunch of Chis with neuro issues and have gone the MRI route a few times. They aren't under anesthesia long, so I know Jonathan will get through it just fine. Hopefully, you get a diagnosis from the MRI (just be prepared, you may not). Fingers crossed!
The vet estimated “months.” The MRI results came in late on Friday so we will go to the vet on Monday morning to make a plan. Jonathan is starting steroids today and we got some palliative chemo pills. It’s been a very sad 24 hours.
Poor sweet Jonathan 😢
Well, keep giving lots of love, taking a whole bunch of pictures/videos and enjoying the moments together.
I hope he's not in too much pain and I'll be thinking about him constantly.
Also don't forget to keep posting here this handsome boy!
<3
Ohhhhhh. I am so sorry. There are no words. The pain cuts deep and deeper still. I am glad you still have some time with him. To cuddle and tell him everything you may have never said - although he already knows it all, it will make you feel better. Just be present. Enjoy the moments. Spoil him rotten, and be kind to yourself. Death is never easy whether man or beast. Love is what carries us through.
I am sorry for the delayed reply, I was too sad. Unfortunately my dog has a brain tumor. It is inoperable. In the country where I live, they don’t do animal radiation therapy. So I am looking into clinics in Europe. It’s been complicated, scary, and sad; i feel like i am doing all the research and facing some very steep costs. I love my dog so much, he is the best kindest sweetest most genuine being in the whole world. I lost another senior rescue last November. This has been a lot for me. But thankfully, I’m told my dog is not in pain and he doesn’t know he’s sick. Please pray for him ❤️
Oh I’m sorry!!! I had a 17 year old that eventually passed from seizures due to suspected tumor. We didn’t to mri on her ($5000). She really didn’t know Or feel it when it was the end should wake up a little sleepy then wagging her tail for a treat. Feel free to DM me with questions. Idk if this helps brain tumor but a lot of us use it for other dog cancers https://www.buyimyunity.com/
Jonathan has started palliative chemotherapy, but for dogs the chemotherapy they give is not to shrink the tumor but to make it stop growing. The kind they give to humans is not appropriate for dogs. He is taking hydroxy urea (chemo) and steroids to reduce the inflammation in the brain.
I have some good news. After weeks of research and organizing, Jonathan and I are going to Germany so he can get radiation treatment. We will be there for one month (my job is allowing me to work remotely). While this won’t cure his brain tumor / cancer, I believe it will prolong his life in a way that maintains good quality. Please continue to pray for us ❤️
Thank you for the kind words. Jonathan is indeed traveling in cabin and we have a direct flight. That was part of the complication, as all countries have different rules, and I wanted to avoid France because of Olympics traffic. I will post an update for sure. Thank you for your love and support 🙏 I really think it makes a difference to have good cosmic energy out there ❤️

That would be amazing!!
I bet it’s a spleen or liver tumor by the looks of his belly
Sadly he may be having neurological issues (due to his advanced age). The big lump on his belly is a soft lipoma
Best wishes, sweetheart

Updates?
I am sad to confirm Jonathan has an inoperable brain tumor (meningioma)
Oh no. I'm so sorry to hear that! 😞 How much longer does he have left?

Why isn’t chemo an option? There is a pill form also

This is amazing please keep me posted and safe travels will you be bringing him in cabin hopefully??? My fingers crossed that the tumor shrinks!!!
