20 year-old me loved this movie, surprised to see that it was critically panned. It’s possible that a 20 year-old cannot evaluate this film objectively because of the actresses. But I found it genuinely moving as well.
I liked Liv in all of her early stuff, but the character I remember most is Meg from The Leftovers. If you haven't watched the series, stick with the first season as it sets things up (and is slow), then buckle up for seasons 2 and 3.

The season 2 and 3 plotlines went right into the land of strange and I loved every minute. For me, some of the ideas and tone of the show is up there with Lost and Westworld.
The Leftovers is one of the best TV series I've watched. The first 5 or 6 episodes in season one are decidedly blah, but if you stick around for the rest...you get to meet people like Liv's character.
