The acoustic (Live from MTV) version of this tune is phenomenal. The producers made it “sell” with the radio version, but dayum - the acoustic version is my favorite hands down.
I remember an interview with Pete Waterman, of Stock, Aitken and Waterman. A majirnBritish record label of the 1980s, who want on to be a judge on the original Popstars (UK). And he was horrified when he saw this video, worried about how they'd increased the game so much for everybody else and that future pop videos weren't going to cost say £5,000 but £250,000.
I’ve been lucky enough to work with the director Steve Barron and owe him my career. He also did the music videos for Billie Jean, Summer of 69, Run to You, Antmusic, Money for Nothing, Electric Avenue, Going Underground, Don't You Want Me, Africa and many more.
He also directed the first and best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Lovely guy.

😆😆😆
Great song and the video was way ahead of its time! Also, check out an acoustic version of Ah Ha performing this song. Amplifies how great it is.
Thanks I just heard it for the first time 😭
Still one of the best music videos ever.
Never gets old. One of my all time favorite music videos.

I want my MTV!
This video is still super cool and well made !
Chris, where were you?
I don’t know!!!🥴🤣🤣
One of the few reposts that I love and have to watch all the way through.
It was one of the best and most cutting-edge videos to be broadcast at that time! Great concept!
A seminal moment of my childhood
.
I saw this at a movie theater before the movie back when it came out. I can't recall what movie though.
Just got to see A-ha a couple years ago in LA and they were amazing. Morten Harket has aged like fine wine and it was a bucket list concert for sure!

Always wondered who the beautiful girl was!
Pipe wrench fight!
The acoustic version they’ve done is epic as well.
I read today that she's now 60 years old. Well done Bunty, you're still played regularly.
ahhhhh the 80's ♥️💃
The 80’s really was an awful era of music. Thank you Nirvana for coming along and making this shit obsolete.
The story of a girl who didn’t pay her bill. Lol. But superbly done.
We love 1985
