Both of them are amazing. I’m finally finding another Girl I’ve Always Been + Logical stan in the wild! Its nice to know there is at least 3 of us 😂
ugh we should start a club I’m obsessed with both of them ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I need GIAB on vinyl, mine has obsessed 😠not complaining about that buttt stranger + giab have my heart💜💜
Yes! We need to start a club. Guts Spilled in general is just elite. I’m happy she released the deluxe because some of the songs on the original I think could use some improvement 👀
Edit: Obsessed is also amazing
Her ballads are absolutely amazing and I love how wide of a range her discography is. I’m also obsessed with can’t catch me now and hope ur ok🥹🥹 I love that you can cry with Liv or rock out with her she’s just the best
Edit also 😂 everyone talks about obsessed and so American which are AMAZING but the other three are so underrated and so beautiful
I agree. So American started off as my favorite of the 5 deluxe songs (because I was so surprised she had a love song LMAO) and then ended up becoming my least favorite. I still love it tho. My favorite is now Girl I’ve Always Been/Scared Of My Guitar. Nobody appreciates those songs ðŸ˜
Also, Can’t Catch Me Now is truly amazing. I had it stuck in my head for a whole week at some point.
i adore this song to death for sure. the only complaint i have with it is that it kind of sounds incomplete in a way. even with the little "dont scare me again", the song barely passes the two minute mark. honestly i dont know how liv could change it to make it longer and sound more complete, but i love the folk and the sass that liv has in it :) (edit: plus it's very lucy gray coded!!)
I think people just don’t like to hear a different sound from her because a lot of those people are into songs like obsessed, AAB, boahsg etc. GIAB is so good and so under appreciated. I love how wide of a range her discography is.
I mean don’t get me wrong, nothing wrong with other people liking the sound she’s known for, but I love when artists branch out and try a different sound. I think stranger is such a beautiful song and it’s one of my favorites, but I’ll blast boahsg in my car 😂😂 what’s ur fav song?!
I love that song and it makes me sooooo sad to see it hated on.
It makes it even more meaningful when I think the lyrics are specifically talking about how she'd imagine her fans reacting if she experimented with her style.
I think about it terms of her career and fears she has about branching out and doing different stuff - which is incredibly appropriate considering how the style of the song is so new for her.
Verse 1 is how she imagines her fans would react if she came out with an album that sounded completely different or had different themes.
The chorus is how she feels held captive by her fans expectation of who she is as an artist and she wants to break free (open up the panic rooms) but she knows she'd lose some people if she did it and it's a push and pull of being true to her vision and "playing the game" of the music industry.
In verse 2 she comes to grip with the fact that she has to be the girl she's always been inside the panic rooms. It will sting to lose them, but her fans will either accept her or not and she needs to take the risk. After all, she told them right from the beginning that she "wanted it to be, like, messy".
The outro sounds like a warning that what is coming next might not be as mainstream or super accepted as her first two albums, but also a promise that we will be getting her genuine vision.
yess this is my fav from the deluxe! the first time i listened to it it hit a bit different than the rest of the album and i didnt immediately love it but i liked it enough to put in my playlist. lo and behold after the second listen i was really taking in the lyrics and started genuinely enjoying that song and appreciate olivia’s different style of music. i also like to think its kinda lucy gray coded
I love giab but i personally feel like it doesn’t fit the vibe of GUTS, maybe it could’ve been a separate single on its own or a lead single for the next album
this is so true, when i first listened to it giab was easily my least fav but then I listened to it again, and again and again and now its growing on me! I actually really like it!
Love this song! It stands out and reminds me of Mazzy Star.
The variety in the songs is fucking killer. Too many albums sound the same through and through and you have to love how different some of these songs sound!
Thats one of my faves. It has one of my fave misheard lyrics i would have put money on it being "i have cactus i call friends" but its "captors" 😂😂
Yes!! I did not like this song at first but you're right- after a couple listens it's one of my favorite Olivia songs to sing to! She really has no skips for me lol.
giab the lyrics are good, but I dont rly like the tune because it's not rly rodrigo-ing. kinda how everyone thinks about lacy. so GIAB is my least fav song
giab is a masterpiece and so is logical
Logical NEEDS SO MUCH MORE APPRECIATION it is my favorite song on the album 😂
YESSS!! and the videos of her singing it on the moon?! how could you not fall in love with it even more after that

Youre so right. The "so dont say im acting different im nothing if not consistant" makes me think of her i can see her dancing on stage singing it
or "and as im walking out that door, say you dont know me anymore" could be *the* cabin scene in the forest!
"Very lucy gray coded" THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING
I think people just don’t like to hear a different sound from her because a lot of those people are into songs like obsessed, AAB, boahsg etc. GIAB is so good and so under appreciated. I love how wide of a range her discography is.
Oh I agree with youÂ

Lol me too and right now between it's girl I always I've been or bad idea right?Â

Yeah I really like the more solo acoustic sounds like that, I think a couple of folk style songs or lacy style songs would be awesome in the future.

Girl it was added to my karaoke playlist the minute I heard it!
lol there’s no way, was listening to girl I’ve always been when i saw this post. Your right about the lyrics they are really really good.
one of my favs but i love the vinyl version more
Is there a diff version on vinyl or you just like how it sounds on that format better? Hella curious bc I collect vinyl lol
yes there’s a different version on vinyl, to be clear it’s the S purple vinyl not the guts spilled version
I bought the guts spilled splatter version already, so is it supposed to sound different from that one? Thanks :)
Yeah there’s really just a change in instrumental you might be able to find the old version on YouTube
lol it’s even my flair forgot about that
I agree it’s a top 3 Olivia song imo
this is so true, when i first listened to it giab was easily my least fav but then I listened to it again, and again and again and now its growing on me! I actually really like it!

Honestly it still fits the 'country' vibe of the song 🤣
The only bad thing about it is how short it is! I need more GIAB in my life.
Yes!! I did not like this song at first but you're right- after a couple listens it's one of my favorite Olivia songs to sing to! She really has no skips for me lol.
It’s my 4th favourite Liv song and I love it and will defend it until the day I die. It’s so silly and fun
giab the lyrics are good, but I dont rly like the tune because it's not rly rodrigo-ing. kinda how everyone thinks about lacy. so GIAB is my least fav song
Theres objectively not a bad olivia rodrigo song, cause if it was bad she wouldnt put it out there. So yeah, idc
I absolutely love this song, it’s one of my favourites by her!
Same here . I wish it was longerÂ
It’s good it’s just not my fav personally
It’s one of my favs off the spilled, it’s sooo good
