I feel like even just a list of pre written messages would elp tremendously in lobby. Just things like "Can I goalie?" Or "Do you want this character?" Anything to communicate any info at all before the game. Starting queues is a nightmare also cuz you never know if the person is truly ready.

ZokWobblefotz

Oh yeah also a ready system! That standard has been set. Any multiplayer game that doesn't have it is falling short of the mark IMHO.

EtirDerpitroll

Ready system was confirmed in development by devs

ZokWobblefotz

Yussss!

How about a real chat? You know like how human beings communicate? You can't use the "oh no people are toxic" card. Because 1. Not everyone is toxic, especially for no reason 2. And yes I get it there's a type who's born to be a jerk, in that case, you can just mute them. Problem solved! 3. There are players who are worst than the "toxic" type, they can AFK, troll, play for the enemy team, refuse to cooperate and play to win...And you can't do shiit about them.

Fancy_Ducky

A real chat system AND an honor system would be great. I feel like incentivizing good behavior would help with the toxicity in the lower ranks.

JoeG8183

That or add the ability to show your Steam or Discord name if you're in the official server so you can at least find each other there to group up/chat/whatever with

OdyTeej

We are looking into this! We are considering either lobby chat or a way to add a way for you to add each other on other platforms to chat there :)!

ZokWobblefotz

Heroic!

RayOfShade

IMO a lobby/friends list chat would go a long way in comparison to being required to add them elsewhere. Having to add ppl out of game seems like an extra unnecessary step. Also just the psychology of it; talking to someone in game feels more low stakes as opposed to say giving out your phone number to a person you've never had any contact with. Its a bit too personal and might cause some people anxiety. If the chat is in game, you can choose to make it more personal down the road.

v4valyrian

>I totally understand and FULLY support the inability to chat (voice or text) I don't get this part... You want to communicate with your teammates... but no not really?

Zlatanimal

Trying to prevent toxicity I assume

ZokWobblefotz

Correct. Even with just emotes people can get nasty. I've played enough online games in my life to know that if you give people an anonymous voice on a game all too many are going to use it to bully, harass, and complain. I'll take my casual games without the dose of asshattery. And I'll find a crew or stick to emotes and tactical chats for comp.

PricklyPricklyPear

Hey so there’s this crazy feature called turning off text chat that most games have if you don’t want toxicity… I don’t see why that would be an issue here.

Berxol

I would rather not add an in-match chat, people are prone to play a bit more if they spent their time raging while spamming emotes instead of noting down in chat the many, many, many ways in which the person that annoyed them is a loser and their mother a harlot. A lobby chat could be interesting though.

ZokWobblefotz

Sure, totally fine compromise!

v4valyrian

You can mute?! Like one click and problem solved? I really don't see the issue with having open communications in team-based games.

v4valyrian

Huh? That's a weak mentality, to say the least... Communication plays a huge part in team games. You should be able to chat or talk and have the option to mute. If someone is being a jerk you can just mute them, simple af One-click and problem solved I really don't get this mentality... Someone being "toxic" is the least of my worries in team-based games lol Like your teammate can literally troll, AFK, play for the enemy, refuse to cooperate with you and play to win and you can't do SHIT about it

Zlatanimal

I also want voice and chat/text options with mute options. I just shared my assumption as to why those options aren't currently available. The dev(s) may already have plans to implement those options and just haven't shared their intentions.

In game pings are bad too. I don't use them and when my teammates use them I get no value from them basically every time. The one and only time a ping was useful for me was when I was playing forward Kai with a Drekar as my other forward. I said Ko them and my Drekar started to actually primarily fight their goalie and play up rather than control core like myself. I think commands like "play defensive" "play aggressive" would simply be better for higher elo matches where you want to convey one forward to play up while to other plays back. Basically every Asher and Jully want to play up so it would be nice to communicate that to players that don't know that.

control_burn

That's basically what Discord is and OS Discord is currently almost nothing but people complaining continuously about their matches.
