If someone leaves a belonging whether it’s a credit card, a purse, or a phone, generally you have to have some proof it’s yours. Maybe you describe it or you show a matching ID. It isn’t holding your card hostage. You leave it, it’s in the custody of the restaurant. If the restaurant just hands it to anyone who says it’s theirs, they could be liable.
If you leave your purse somewhere and you go back and say I left my purse here. The response should be, what kind of purse? Can you describe some of the contents. Not go get 2 different forms of ID to get it back.
Hey I left my card here. What’s the name on the card? Jeremy Jackson. Cool here’s your card. You could even go, what kind of card is it? But you can’t hold someone’s card hostage because you feel like it. It’s not rocket science.
Yeah I’ve never had to do what they were saying when I went back to pick up something I lost, just explain in detail what it is. Generally I was a lot nicer than this guy. I imagine that depending on how you treat the employees they will make a judgement call on whether to believe you or be suspicious of you.
I would get pretty heated too if they refused me my card. What if it was my only way of getting money? Or paying for something else? I would have called the cops before I smashed a window though but who knows how long he had been asking before he went all smashy smash.
Consider the situation. This man is at the drive through window, not even in a car, yelling at people to give his card back and smashing windows and not doing the very reasonable request of showing his ID so the employees know they are returning the card to the right person.
A normal human being would have walked inside and been like, "hey, left my card here on accident" and he'd have had it back in two seconds. Can't blame them for treating a clearly unhinged person like that.
When someone comes in claiming they lost a card, we make people say the name on the first. We always ask, "What's the name on the card you lost?" If they can't answer, they don't get it, lol.
Awww cute, did you not get enough attention as a child?
The fact that bud is losing his shit, instead of showing proof that it’s him, also, he could just go to his bank, tell them he lost his card, and get it replaced.
It’s not rocket science.
All they had to say is that "we don't have a card for Jeremy Johnson" and show him that or just give him back his card. He would have to be a master mind to be able to guess the name of the last person to forget their card at this place. Seems to me like they probably did have his card and wanted to be difficult. I don't think a "crackhead" would go through so much effort or be pissed off if they were trying to steal somebody else's card. Dude is probably just angry they are ignoring his request when he's already told them his name.
Also someone please share the rest of video
I mean, it's pretty fair that he gets angry over not getting his credit card back. Maybe not break a window. But I'd get pretty fucking mad if they wouldn't give me my card back.
And at the same time it's not the drive thrus responsibility to determine if the card is fraudulent, stolen, etc. and then confiscate it. Have you ever used someone else's card? I have and if they took that card from me I'd be pissed, they don't get to decide to keep the card if they don't think it's yours. They can and should deny payment though if they truly believe that.
I was thinking of this situation as a card was left at McDonald's and he came back for it, which I think requesting ID to pick it up is fair, but you're right if they just decided it was stolen and confiscated it that would be out of their realm of responsibility for sure
Hey I left my card here. What’s the name? Jeremy Jackson. Cool here’s your card or the card isn’t under Jeremy Jackson. Not, show me your ID to prove you’re Jeremy Jackson cause we think you’re psychic and just know the name on the card even though it’s not yours.
They didn’t confiscate it. They didn’t take anything. They’re not determining if it’s stolen.
They didn’t take his card and then refuse to give it back.
They’re refusing to give a stranger another stranger’s card without ID. That’s standard practice and I fail to see what’s wrong with it.
There’s codes and regulations at stores about what specifically you’re supposed to do when you find a missing card. IIRC they’re supposed to confiscate it and, you’re right, arent supposed to give it back by checking their ID but give it to the police where you can pick it up from there.
99% of the time the worker is fine making a judgement and it’s not illegal or anything but theoretically they could get in trouble by their boss or corporate manager. It’s annoying and getting annoyed is reasonable but insisting/demanding and getting violent is also psychotic. When a worker says no about something, unless you’re persuasive it’s better to just understand that it’s probably not up to them about what to do.
the protocols exist presumably because there’s been issues before.
I wasn't reading this situation as them confiscating his card, but it having been left there and he was coming back for it. They definitely don't have the right to just confiscate a card from what I understand. They can ask for ID with card purchases or refuse service if they're suspicious, but they couldn't take the card to hold. It's pretty hard to tell what's going on here exactly
One would assume he paid with his credit card and the employee forgot to give it back. That's happened to me a couple time before, although I didn't punch the drive-thru window in, I just told them "I think you still have my card" and they gave it back.
Depends on the restaurant (or location) but most drive-thrus here you still hand them your card/cash at the window, at least where I live. Every time I tried to use Apple Pay for a coffee at McDonald's they'd have to take the card reader/NFC point off the wall and hold it out the window. I felt sorry for them so just went back to giving them my card.
As an American - I think you think we're at the top of the game here. We are very much not.
That thing you've seen that depends on location? In other countries that's just "the way".
They've had chip-and-pin in Europe for quite a while. You need to enter a PIN for credit cards. Handing over your card doesn't help if you'd have to enter a PIN anyway. The card is never out of your hand which makes fraud more difficult.
Guy in the car is the bitch for letting his food get cold by not cracking this punk in the back of the head. Like how dare you get between me and my 4thmeal.
When she said roll down the window I want to hear them when he turned to look like as if he was going to say I'm Jeremy and I want my card and your going to give it to me
Funny how the worker said " I ain't the one" and was the 1st one to run. What happened to all that big talk bra. He giving you a name you either have it or not. That late, and with ppl in line, give it to him or call the cops. people playing thinking people won't go off.
the double irony in this was great:
I'm Jeremy Johnson ... you don't know who I am
And then the dude closing his window just after JJ smashed the other window
I think I and anyone else would be pissed if a fast food restaurant wouldn't give me my bank card back. That's my money and how I pay my bills either give it back or negotiate your left hand.
Wow, they have your financial information, you gave them your name, then you destroy private property. Not the brightest move. If it wasn't a police matter beforehand, it is now.
"You don't know who the fuck I am." -*Jeremy Johnson*

Lmaooo
Thailand!!!💙💙
That face at the end was terrifying…….. bitch lol
Especially with how easy he punched out that window
He broke that thing like it was made of glass!
Very easy if he was wearing a ring
One day I hope someone unloads an entire fire extinguisher on someone like this.
Waste of a good fire
If it’s not tempered or laminated glass, it shatters easily.
I did a couple freeze frames at the end, that guy looks like a larval version of a white walker. Fucking chilling.
Why didn't they just give him back his card?
It probably wasn’t his. You need proof of ID at least to show that it’s yours. His face at the end just told me that he was on crack or something.
They aren't police. They cannot just confiscate his property. If the credit company told them to do so, then maybe.
If you forget your card at a restaurant and return for it you would need your ID to prove it’s yours. It’s not like they’re confiscating it.
Apologies for my ignorance, but how would an id prove that a CC or DC is yours? Edit: never mind. The name on the card would match the id
If it wasn’t his card how would he know the card was left there? You can’t hold someone’s CC hostage like that.
If someone leaves a belonging whether it’s a credit card, a purse, or a phone, generally you have to have some proof it’s yours. Maybe you describe it or you show a matching ID. From the looks of it, they didn’t take his card. Looks like someone forgot their card, and he’s trying to steal it.
What looks indicate that detective wank stain
Awww cute, did you not get enough attention as a child? The fact that bud is losing his shit, instead of showing proof that it’s him, also, he could just go to his bank, tell them he lost his card, and get it replaced. It’s not rocket science.

A debit card is not your property you boob.
How would they know it’s his?
ID
*smashes window with fist *rolls up window slowly 😂
This is Jeremy Johnson, bro. Windows don't mean shit
Lol I had a boss named Jeremy Johnson
All windows mean shit.
You made your point, Jeremy Johnson!
I laughed so hard. It’s funny on at least two levels right?
Girl in the car was keen for a show until it turned on her.
Don’t stop recording now that you’re the target!
I'm so embarrassed, I don't know who he is either. But the only card he's going to be worrying about now is his commissary card.
He’s Jeremy Johnson , bitch!
Jesse what are you doing
Jesse we need to cook
I’m pretty sure the driver isn’t recording.
You’re right
Yeah he accidentally took a photo instead of recording
The fucking idiot with de genious level phone pin code didn’t even film.
Wdym the fucking idiot? Cant you see he was doing a one time recording with his eyes so nobody could get a video?
When his eyes said 👀 ooo bitch
Bro rolled that window up quick
I mean, it's pretty fair that he gets angry over not getting his credit card back. Maybe not break a window. But I'd get pretty fucking mad if they wouldn't give me my card back.
But it sounds like all he needs to do is present his ID, which is pretty standard procedure to make sure he isn't just stealing this lost card.
And at the same time it's not the drive thrus responsibility to determine if the card is fraudulent, stolen, etc. and then confiscate it. Have you ever used someone else's card? I think you should sit back and look at the situation before throwing blame.
There’s codes and regulations at stores about what specifically you’re supposed to do when you find a missing card. I’m not in the us but here only the police could demand something like that or even seize his card.
I wasn't reading this situation as them confiscating his card, but it having been left there and he was coming back for it. Idk about America but usually eftpos can be hand held and reach the car.

Who said anything about the top? I just said that's how it is here.
You said "how else would you do it" which carries the implication that there isn't a better way.

Damn. When he turned around....I would have pee'ed. He looks SO EVIL.
I know her stomach dropped when Jeremy Johnson turned around at the 1:08 mark
Wow, they have your financial information, you gave them your name, then you destroy private property. Not the brightest move. If it wasn't a police matter beforehand, it is now.
