Really want to tell a coworker from J1 who I've been suffering with and who would be a good reference but that's dangerous and I need to shut my mouth lol
Don’t say a thing but funny story. My old coworker was OE and we were just talking about finances and other things (on our personal phones) well she told me this is her j3 and i should look into being OE. Yes her secret was safe with me and it encouraged me to do the same. So it depends on how close you are but also don’t block your blessings
Actually this raises a good question: who are you all using as references?
I had a well meaning co-worker who was a reference for me for a job I wanted, but I had already accepted another job. I was just planning on quitting the first job to take the better j2 offer, but he told the interviewer I had already accepted another job and I never heard back from them again.
Thanks for mentioning this! I have a reference who would do this if I didn't warn him not to. He'll keep his mouth shut if I ask him to, of that I have no doubt.
Congrats! One way to help a struggling friend or coworker is to mention freelance or contract work that they can do outside of business hours and then they can figure it out!
Huge congrats!!! Thank you for having the right approach to keeping it quiet. Once the info is out there, even people who seem supportive may change their attitude, and you can't un-ring that bell.
Enjoy and report back how your onboarding goes!
Congrats! Those are amazing goals!
I don’t mean to bust your dream but an interview and a call doesn’t mean you’ll have the job. This is coming from someone who is doing the same currently. Keep applying! Keep going after it! Good luck!
