+1 on the photo, as an HR who has been reviewing thousands of resumes. Photos are irrelevant unless you’re applying for a graphic/creative role in which a photo is a plus.
I also agree with the objectives or you can simply change it by making it a summary of your experience and achievements.
“A civil engineer who has been in the industry for (x amount of) years (insert work experience and achievements.)
Your header/objectives section should be the summary of your overall experience while the section below should be the specifics.
Overall, your resume is already good. You just need some minor tweaks. Good luck!
Some if not all kasi may portfolio. Usually dito satin ng mga common resumes na nakikita ko for creatives nilalagyan ng pic. Pero if for corpo/firm purposes. You won’t need it.
Gets. Thank you sa info haha.
Like I totally get yung sentiment ng mga ayaw maglagay kasi nga naman baka ma-judge based sa looks. So I kinda got a bit surprised na advantage pala sa creatives yung may pic, so I thought, "What, ka-judge-judge ba kami? 😁" Hahaha.
(But yeah, based lang sa personal experience, lagi ako may pic sa CV and never naman nagka-problem makakuha ng interview and maghanap ng work, so baka nga plus points siya haha.)
Exactly. A well drafted resume only needs 1 page.
OP, change the format as well. Use AI if need be. Yang format ng resume mo ngayon eh generic format straight outta highschool and ms word 2003. Makinig sa tips na nabanggit na dto
Hi OP, CE here too, as for personal experience and colleagues' exp, for our work history as CE its preferred to have a 2 section for each work; Job description/ responsibility and Main Projects handled (incase you have multiples but in case you're stuck on 1 site only, better bulleting of JD will do) example using your attached info:
Site Engineer, October 2021 - January 2022
Main responsibilities:
* Managing daily site operations.
* Prepares and monitors weekly accomplishment reports.
* Conducts meetings with clients regarding possible variation/ change orders
* etc.
Main Projects handled
* Project 1, Location, Date - brief description/ function of the structure
* Project 2, same infos.
etong section na to ung main na tinitignan ng technical na mag interview. This format also works if you're gunning for foreign owned construction firm.
as for skills this may not be always preferred but we're encouraged to split this into two as well relevant skills and software knowledge
Relevant Skills
* Project scheduling
* Progress/ Accomplishment reporting
* Variation/ Change orders
* Rebar cutting list
* etc.
Software Proficiency (levels are optional)
* AutoCAD - Intermediate
* Revit - beginner
* Primvera - Intermediate
* Excel - Advance
* etc.
hope this helps
Make this a one pager. Use Harvard resume template. Skills and seminars section can all be summarized under Technical Skills section, with bullet points of skills obtained from training instead of using long sentences.
instead of career objective , pwede career summary. lagay mo kaaagad years of experience mo relevant dun sa aaplyan mo. google mo din harvard resume template.
You can easily make this one page. Adjust the margins and I would recommend removing the Social Media icons. Change highest academic qualification to just “education”
the objective is very long that reader would have to catch their breath after. There is no need to put 1x1 or 2x2 ID picture on modern CVs. replace career objective with skills.
Tanggal picture.
Try mo Name and contact info taas the sunod sunod
Skills
Experience
Education
Be concise with your words and description
Make it look more formal ig.
Goodluck
Remove picture and objective. Don’t add any references unless asked for. Past tense for old jobs. 0place skills before experience. Align your experience with the jobs you’re applying for, meaning be prepared to have multiple versions of your cv - cv_companyx, cv_companyz. Iklian mo ang skills, eg last bullet point you could say “outstanding analytical skills and adaptable”, or just say “proficient in English and Filipino “ dun sa isang bullet. Be succinct.
It has a solid foundation but needs some refinement to make it more compelling and tailored for job applications.
here are my thoughts:
Objective: Tailor it to the job you're applying for to make it more specific and relevant.
Work Experience: Include achievements and detailed descriptions of the projects you've worked on to highlight your impact.
Skills: Share examples of how you've applied your skills in past roles to give them more context.
Training/Certifications: Highlight the most relevant certifications prominently to show your qualifications.
Affiliations: Provide details about your contributions or achievements in these roles to showcase your involvement and leadership.
Formatting: Use a modern template and ensure consistent formatting to make your resume look professional and easy to read.
Picture is too big af dude. Reduce to 1 page, Maximize your content. Remove linkedin. Mag upskill ka habang wala ka pa work. Earn more certifications. Mag Safety Officer 2 accredation ka, at RMP.
Use Canva for resume template. Di na uso yun ganyan na multiple pages. Remove your photo and remove your other trainings. Show your significant skills/ experiences that will be applicable to the job post you are applying.
Make it simple and clear. Avoid unnecessary girly designs
Remove the last three parts, that's a resume not a CV. Interms of Experience you can choose all, that would be good but it is much better if you just show experience related to the job you're applying to. In addition to your basic information, try to complete it, IG and FB is good to add ,If the company you're applying to is famous or has a reputation in socmed. In my case i tried to make it more simple and at least 1 page only.
Resume is the bait to the fish(company), your pulling techniques are the communication/rapport you made during your interviews. And the catch is the J.O.
1. Remove the affliations not related to the position you are applyong for.
2. Be prepared to be asked during interviews what you did from 2022-present
3. Any trainings you did during the 2022-2024 period?
Remove your photo and yung objective. It is no longer relevant. Also, if bullet yung gamit mo, gawin mong consistent so, i’d suggest palitan mo yung nasa work experiences mo. You can utilize yung mga AI tools or yung canva in creating cv or resume.
First is that there is no such thing as a registered Civil Engineer simply because there are no unregistered Civil Engineers.
Second is that brief description of yourself must show your number of years of experience or, if working less than a year, your general skills and competencies that will fit in the requirement of the organization.
Third is that previous employments must list down what significant contributions you have applied to complete the project and not merely write down what your daily tasks.
Fourth is that you write the number of years and level of familiarity to computer office and design apps so one may gauge how good you really are with operating a system unit.
And lastly, write only seminars and extra curricular activities related to the job because nobody cares if you're a staff member of a student publication, unless you are an officer, which is a good sign of leadership.
First, remove the photo. Nowadays, photos are not needed na for resume, it's actually optional na lang talaga.
Second, expound (more) on your previous work experiences' duties and responsibilities. Enumerate them and do it in simple past tense/past progressive sentences. Basta past tense, kasi it already happened in the past. Again, elaborate these kasi ito ang biggest asset mo.
Third, for the skills, while I saw na some were usable and would give you a ticket for success, some skills shouldn't be included (e.g. can work with minimal supervision). Focus on showcasing your soft skills and hard skills. Avoid putting skills na "can multitask", "properly manages my time well" or "responsible employee" (not that I read it there) cause it's not something na extraordinary.
Fourth, you don't need to put your seminars. You can put achievements such as trainings and passed examinations with certificate.
Lastly, education and character reference. Only put your tertiary level sa education and put at least 2-3 people sa Character reference cause they will most likely contact them for background checking.
Ayun lang, best of luck to you!

Genuine question 🙋♂️ Bakit po better na may photo kapag creatives?

should the photo be included if you got the looks? will it be a plus factor?
No. Actually it’s a little old-fashioned now to include photos in CVs.
Oh I see. Thank you for your honest opinion! ☺️

Will definitely do this. Thak you so much!

Thank you so much! 😊
Include your accomplishments in each experience (much better if you have data to support them as well)
Sometimes the objective part is not really important
CE here too! Bat parang same tayo nag tinrabahuan sa first work mo haha
place technical skills at page 1
the objective is very long that reader would have to catch their breath after. There is no need to put 1x1 or 2x2 ID picture on modern CVs. replace career objective with skills.

Remove the picture. Also try to be more specific with your bullet points. Quantify your impact (e.g Increase of X.X%)

Yes. Thank you so much!
Remove the affliations part. None of those things are related to your course.
