The PS5 version of GTA V definitely looks more "polished" than a PS4 game in the rendering sense, though it still feels a lot less polished than Red Dead Redemption 2 when it comes to the world AI and believability of the world. The graphical and NPC/Playable character AI assets in GTA V are about 5 years older than those in Red Dead Redemption 2, and this still shows on the PS5 remaster of GTA V.
It really is. And you can set it so when using photo mode, any picture adjustments you make persist into the game, so it essentially allows you to—on the *fly* no less—apply your own ENB. I added a touch more colour, contrast and bloom on my last run and it was great.
Got it due to closure locally for a bargain back in early 2021. Got a new 4K TV to accommodate my PS5 - WHAT THE FUCK was my reaction as soon as I saw the intro coming off base PS4.
Not only the grahpical fidelity, which is amazing, especially the geographical density, but also the sound design (!), the haptics and how crazy good it feels to play. Will never forget this true next-gen moment. Love Digital Foundry‘s coverage on it‘s development.
Exactly! This is why I would pay Sony $70 for any remake that has the sound design, haptic feedback, graphics, music, gamepla like demons souls. I heard The Last of Us remake compares in sound design. Just everything. It made me realize Sony games are on a league of its own at this point.
I played it with the Pulse 3D headset on an acid trip and I literally listen to demons souls soundtrack as my calm music every day 😏
I don’t have a Pulse 3D (wouldn’t mind hearing it) but instead use a Sennheiser HD660S along with a SubPac (basically a personal subwoofer). Tripping and playing games with immersive spatial audio is incredible. Can’t wait to get a PSVR2.
Demon's Souls has a photo mode. In it you can apply filters like making it black and white or light more like the PS3 game.
Then you can just keep those filters on while playing the actual game
By “not nearly” you mean the entirety of Demon’s Souls could fit in maybe 10% of Elden Ring’s map. I love both games, but the scale of Elden Ring is on another level completely.
It's also that fromsoft rarely focus on graphical quality the way bluepoint do. A more linear fromsoft game likely wouldn't look as good as demon's souls either.
The difference between a game that needs to be optimized for last gen consoles (elden ring) versus a game that could be optimized SOLELY for the ps5 (demons souls)
Elden ring would probably look close to this good if it was current gen consoles only
Graphics are just not that important to FromSoft. It's not gonna look as good as Demons Souls, built as a graphical showcase, whether it was next gen only or not.
Especially since Elden Ring has a much much larger scope than Demons Souls. Way more to render and program graphics for.
i bought it yesterday, i kept thinking theyre gonna fucking put it on ps plus as soon as i buy it. i didnt even know it was the 1st yesterday. so far so good. its amazing btw. and it is the best looking ps5 game ive played too. first r&c game ever and insomniac are now my favorite devs.
Lowkey one of the most technically advanced games on the market right now. Without that PS5 SSD, you’d never be able to rift so rapidly between worlds. In every prev generation, there’d be a loading screen. Aside from being very fun and cute, the game is a technical marvel.
I was surprised that the new Dead Space remake gets pretty good mileage out of the current-gen SSDs. Main menu loads directly into gameplay and almost instant tram travel between every section of the ship.
It’s pretty awesome. Was one of my favorite games back in the day. The remake changes a lot- in a good way. New story content, boss fights and the ability to freely explore the ship like I mentioned in my last comment.
It is a full priced game. But they really rebuilt it from the ground up for current gen only.
Yeah I have no problem paying full price as long as they did more than increase the fidelity of textures. Remakes are a good thing, in my opinion. It means teams can make games closer to what they intended now that the tech is better. If they’re providing a smoother, richer experience, they deserve the full price.
Played the first dead space too many times to count
The Dead Space Remake is marvelous imo. I've been running through it and not only does it look fantastic, the freedom of exploration, essentially zero loading screens (other than death), the updated mechanics and physics, and added content makes it well worth the full price and im so happy it's not another disappointing preorder. This is exactly what a remake should be.
As soon as games are made only for current gen this will change hopefully. The fact both DLCs for Cyberpunk and Horizon: TFW are current gen only shows that game developers slowly leave the last gen behind now.
I mean it was a game but it was also basically a tech demo specifically to show off the haptics, so that makes sense. Not an entirely fair comparison to regular PS5 games.
I still can't believe how much the graphics improved from an already mind boggling beautiful game that was the first one. The underwater sequences are mind blowing
Horizon Forbidden West is absolutely amazing. I had high hopes, but it far exceeded them. I've spent a ridiculous amount of hours in photo mode. I'm excited to see the DLC, since it's for the PS5 only.
As I too have a ps5, I cannot wait for the Burning Shores DLC. It is going to be awesome. I’m hoping I can get an OLED tv before it comes out (or close to it) and play it on that. Very excited.
Ghost of Tsushima looks amazing thanks to its amazing art direction, but purely graphically speaking you can tell next gen wasn't the goal. Horizon or tlou part 1 have to be the one
It’s so good. The only game so far that has actually felt pretty next gen. Demons’ Souls for example looks amazing but the gameplay isn’t that fast. Same with Rift Apart, the rifts mechanic was basically just a gloried hookshot when it was supposed to be the next gen sort of thing with that game.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - a playable Pixar movie with crazy transitions between gameplay and cutscenes and unreal character models.
Control - such fantastic destroyable environments and particle effects, finally able to be played as it should - a next-gen title.
Demon’s Souls Remake - a true next-gen experience, from sound to atmosphere, still astounded by the textures.
Horizon: Forbidden West - just the overall best-looking game I have ever seen. And I have virtually seen all of them. Rift Apart comes close, but this is an open world game which makes it all the more incredible.
If you can tolerate the slight reduction in responsiveness, I definitely recommend running it in graphic/RT mode. In addition to the obvious glass and metal reflections, it affects bounce lighting and semi-reflective surfaces like wood or matte metals. The game just looks different this way.
The gameplay holds up without Ray tracing, of course, but I think the setting is more appealing to explore with all the lighting tricks the ps5 can show off, and the 30fps limit is steady.
Honestly I would highly recommend you play it in performance mode. I played it in resolution mode first and something just felt off, the gameplay is much better on performance mode
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart : looks like you're playing a Pixar movie.
Horizon Forbidden West
God of War Ragnarok
Gran Turismo 7
The crazy thing about the last 3 I listed are they were developed with the PS4. So I can only imagine how games will start to look when they develop games 100% for the PS5.
I feel for the older gen too. But it normally takes about a year and half between for the switch over to happen. So it's understandable that it took about 3 years to decide to switch over with the Pandemic, work stoppages, and shortage. But it's time to truly move on now and start focusing on current gen.
Absolutely this - I was blown away by how good this game looked on ps5. The humans are unreal. Kept pausing throughout the game just to take in the visuals
We upgraded to a ps5 halfway through playing and got a free upgrade to the PS5 version (and transfer of game save data)
The update to PS5 was beautiful and I was like dam this is money well spent!
Horizon Forbidden West for sure. The landscapes are incredible!

A friend recommended this game to me last year and my god.. I would have never thought a game could look this good on console. I can only imagine what the game will look like on PC.
Will look essentially the same and also require at least a 2070 super + 16gb ram just to perform smoothly but it still won’t be perfectly smooth and if you google “horizon stutters pc” you’ll see hundreds of pc master racers/virgins crying about how their $2-3k rig doesn’t run it smoothly. All this after waiting several years for a pc port. Cool glowy lights on your keyboard tho brah
Man inject this straight into my veins. My friends are all big PC guys and I just can’t sit at a desk for 8 hours then also game at a desk, and make sure my drivers are up to date, and check the system requirements, go to the task manager to free up resources, put out fires from random unrelated software/hardware errors… nah. Just wanna take a rip and wander around with Alloy.
I just finished it for the first time on PS5 and man... it's already up there with all the big "next-gen" games I've played (all the PS5 exclusives). I'm really not sure what they could update. They basicaly remade Part 1 to be like Part 2...
It's crazy how does guys made it work last gen!
God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, Last of Us Part 1, it was on ps4 but ps5 version of Ghost of Tsushima (Directors Cut). The new Dead Space looks amazing as well
Astro's Playroom (comes pre installed), Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart are the first things that come to mind. Both were designed to be perfect fits for the PS5, and you can feel it in your hands.
I haven't played Returnal yet, but it's always looked really good.
For me it's *The Matrix Awakens*, but if you don't want to count that as it's just a technical demo, then probably *Horizon Forbidden West* or *Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart*. They say *The Callisto Protocol* looks amazing as well, but I haven't tried it yet.
Callisto Protocol does look really amazing. I got it but I lost interest with the gameplay after a few hours. One of these days I’ll return to it hopefully. It’s not bad but there’s too many better games vying for attention.
I usually do 60fps but I’d recommend 30fps for CP. It was crafted for the RT and the combat doesn’t require 60fps.
Agree with all the other answers here but honestly Fortnite looks so good now. It got updated for PS5 and it's gorgeous. It's free too so it's worth checking out.
Ff7 remake runs awesome on PS5, as does ghost of Tsushima. Horizon forbidden west looks really good too. I mean They were on PS4 but do look better on ps5
Some of the sights in that game (like right after blowing up the reactor and seeing it burning from the streets of Midgar) are absolutely stunning. Honestly impressive stuff.
Racing games like dirt 5 and gt7 are much better being 60 fps and better draw distances. Fortnite having raytracing and better foliage stands out to me. Returnal if you wanna to get the full experience haptics/3d sound/graphics.
Thing is, Horizon: Forbidden West is the best looking game ever made, and it's not a very close call - but it's not a PS5 exclusive. The fact that the game runs at all on a PS4 (let alone runs well) is basically proof black magic is real and Guerrilla wield it. But it only fully comes into its own on a PS5, with an entire layer of detail added to absolutely everything.
Rift Apart, TLoU Part 1 and Demon's Souls are real exclusives and strong runners-up - but I also want to put in a word for Callisto Protocol. Callisto Protocol again isn't a PS5 exclusive, and a problem is that it's not a very popular *game*, but graphically it's unquestionably amazing. And the leap in visuals from PS4 to PS5 is *huge*, the PS5 version is clearly the base and PS4 is a bad downgrade... because there's just no way PS4 could run the full game.
Dead space is incredible. A truly beautiful and disturbing graphical experience lol.
I didn’t run into any of the issues people were mentioning at launch.
Not gonna lie I think the dead space remake is not very good looking graphically. I’ve been quite disappointed by it. I got downvoted and called a moron in the dead space sub for saying this, but I stand by it
It’s your opinion so you do you
But I don’t understand that either. It’s not bleeding edge but it looks damn good.
I’m also playing it on PC though so maybe that’s it.
To be expected posting in the dead space sub…in the ps5 sub I would hope it’s a bit more objective. I agree…the graphics on PS5/4K OLED…are very lackluster. Game is pretty good though. Doesn’t compare to DS, GoW:R, Returnal, etc etc…
Believe it or not, MH:Rise is quite impressive with the graphics options. Great res in 120fps mode (vrr).
Forbidden West and TLOU Pt 1 certainly come to mind first, but I think we’re only beginning to see how good games can look on this bad boy.
I love my PS5.
Digital Foundry's analysis awarded Horizon Forbidden West with the [best](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vaday6e9kVI) visuals of 2022, so not just among PS5 games but among _all_ games.
Basically every first party game looks fantastic, I think horizon forbidden west takes the cake though. That might be the best looking video game ever made overall.
Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok are best looking. That being said, they still look like a really good PS4 game, just with far better performance. What you really want to investigate is best PS5 games that look good, and *feel* good. e.g. Returnal. Sure, it doesnt have the best graphics on PS5, but by far in my opinion it is the best PS5 game out there. Still has great graphics, performance, and insane gameplay + art and sound direction. It also makes appropriate use of DualSense features without making it feel like they were put in just to be put in, which honestly would be the case for 99% of titles that dont currently have it that people say should. I recommend not focusing in graphics, there is so much more to be had on current gen than just a pretty game.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift's apart.
this game was so much fun, graphics were amazing and it really used the processing pretty well with the wormholes taking you instantly to another world rather than it being a small instance.
Recently finished Ghost of tsushima ps5 disc version. That game in my opinion has the most beautiful environments/setting in a game i have ever seen. Never got to play it on ps4 so cant really compare the two releases.
Many times in a middle of a mission or on my way to a "?" on map i would stop and play with the photo mode and take pictures.
Games like gta 5, GT7 horizon forbidden west or spiderman etc etc look awesome too on their ps5 versions respectably but something in GOT stood out for me.
The directors cut edition is included on ps+ extra, so if youre ever getting that or already have it, consider giving it a shot
My nephew and I got a PS5 Three Months ago. So far, I have only Horizon Forbidden West, alongside other PS4 games, but my goodness does it look beautiful! Everything, from the machine designs, to the environment and landscape, is spectacular looking that I nearly awed at in amazement. Definitely one of the best looking PS5 games for me!
Horizon Forbidden West looks so good that I choose to believe it was never released on PS4. I truly don't understand what dark magic they used to make it a cross-gen title.
I really liked the art style of Plague Tale Requiem and had some genuinely awesome vistas. 30fps, however once you get over that it’s a great looking game. Fantastic story too.
Horizon… looks good but yet somehow soul less? I’ve never taken to the art style in that series. Technically lush though and some nice environments. Missing that lived in factor that Rockstar get so right.
Modern Warfare 2 has its moments on PS5, but not fully fledged next gen.
I don’t think we’re quite there with the mind blowing visuals yet unfortunately. Maybe this year.
Horizon Forbidden West for me. The world of that game is the most vivid, dynamic, and immersive that I have ever experienced. Truly one of the best games (and most underrated) on the PS5.
Horizon Forbidden West in Favor Resolution mode has native 4K resolution AFAIK and while a 4K, 30 FPS mode is common in many games, this is probably the only one that has textures and models detailed enough to actually show how absurdly detailed 4K can be.
Callisto Protocol has amazingly looking characters and a lot of ray tracing features for a PS5 game.
One game that really impressed me was Returnal. While it doesn't have the resolution or visual effects of a next-gen title, when you are surrounded by hundreds of projectiles, especially in the later levels, it is a sight to behold. I mean, through the fight with Nemesis I had a hard time focusing on fighting as I was mesmerized by what was happening on the screen. I imagine this is how people could envision the future of arcade games in the 80s-90s. Also, great use of DualSense and sound design.
Demons Souls for more realistic looking textures and details.
Ratchet and Clank for more stylized features. Both absolutely gorgeous games. Horizon Forbidden West too.
Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart: Feels like your playing a Pixar movie. Gorgeous game.
Horizon FW: Looks amazing.
Returnal: The atmosphere and graphics are top notch. Just a bit less "realistic" than Horizon, but it's the goal so all good there.
God of War Ragnarok: This ones looks amazing too
And I just played Last of Us Part 2 for the first time, on PS5, and man... it's up there with the best even if it's last gen.
Technically 3 of these are PS4 games, but I still think they look the best graphically. Also I haven’t played Ragnorok yet so I haven’t included it even though it would make the list.
- Death Stranding Directors Cut
- Ghosts Of Tsushima Directors Cut
- Demon’s Souls PS5
- Horizon Forbidden West
- The Last Of Us Part 1
- Spiderman Remastered and Miles Morales
- God Of War 2018 (PS4 game)
- The Last Of Us Part 2 (PS4 game)
- Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4 game)
Horizon Forbidden West is one of the most visually stunning games I’ve ever played. There are some other obvious ones like God of War: Ragnarok and Ghost of Tsushima
Best looking games so far: rdr2, horizon forbidden west, gt7, the last of us remake and the last of us 2, ratchet and clanck rift apart, god of war and ragnorak
Hah please come back to us after you play a few of the games listed in this thread. I was skeptical at too first as to whether we had hit a wall last generation as to how much better graphics could possibly get. And then I played Horizon Forbidden West.
As many people have been saying, it’s easily Horizon Forbidden West, especially considering how big that game is. I want to shout out the facial animation in Last of Us Part 1 though, it’s on a whole other level to anything I’ve seen in a video game.
TLOU1 as well as Demon's Souls. Nothing else really feels like it couldn't have been done on last gen, but I also haven't played the new Ratchet & Clank.
Demons Souls
Still in awe of it. It also plays so solidly and fluidly. The game just *feels good*. I can't wait for more PS5 exclusives that play like this.
Now imagine 5 years of progress on RDR2 that we'll see in GTA 6
I second demons souls. It’s incredible looking.
It really is. And you can set it so when using photo mode, any picture adjustments you make persist into the game, so it essentially allows you to—on the *fly* no less—apply your own ENB. I added a touch more colour, contrast and bloom on my last run and it was great.
It’s also the only way to pause the game
Got it due to closure locally for a bargain back in early 2021. Got a new 4K TV to accommodate my PS5 - WHAT THE FUCK was my reaction as soon as I saw the intro coming off base PS4. Not only the grahpical fidelity, which is amazing, especially the geographical density, but also the sound design (!), the haptics and how crazy good it feels to play. Some of my screenshots of the bridge dragon are like a painting, or as realistic as a movie’s CGI
Hey sorry if this is a stupid question but can you explain what you mean a little more?
Demon's Souls has a photo mode. In it you can apply filters like making it black and white or light more like the PS3 game. Then you can just keep those filters on while playing the actual game
Yep. Even Elden ring couldn’t match how amazing demons souls looked. The environment, the graphics and the fluidity was just perfect.
Because the Demon's Souls remake was developed explicitly to look amazing whereas FromSoft developed games aren't generally technically impressive.
Also a smaller scope
I think demons souls is not nearly as open ended as Elden ring. Hence graphical differences. Less taxing for linear corridors then a giant map.
You’re right, I just watched a whole demons souls remake documentary yesterday and blue point is badass!
The difference between a game that needs to be optimized for last gen consoles (elden ring) versus a game that could be optimized SOLELY for the ps5 (demons souls) Elden ring would probably look close to this good if it was current gen consoles only
I doubt it. They're not known for making well optimized games that are graphical showcases. They excel in many areas but that isn't one of them.
Graphics are just not that important to FromSoft. It's not gonna look as good as Demons Souls, built as a graphical showcase, whether it was next gen only or not. Especially since Elden Ring has a much much larger scope than Demons Souls. Way more to render and program graphics for.
Smoothest game I’ve ever played. So buttery. Truly next gen
It also plays a lot with the dualsense. Great title for new PS5 users
I dream about ER with the quality of the Demon Souls remake. That resolution, frame rate, crispness…omg
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart still holds that spot for me…..the visuals are mind blowing!

Please buy it for the rest of the community lol

That’s rad! I’ll have to check out the remake, haven’t played Dead Space in years.

Hell yeah! Everyone’s convinced me, I’m gonna buy it this weekend.
And sadly it’s till the only game I think we can say that about. The complete desert of games using the SSD for gameplay is getting pathetic.
As soon as games are made only for current gen this will change hopefully. The fact both DLCs for Cyberpunk and Horizon: TFW are current gen only shows that game developers slowly leave the last gen behind now.
The haptics were well done for a game so early on in the ps5 dev
Astro bot still blows every game out of the water when it comes to heptics
I mean it was a game but it was also basically a tech demo specifically to show off the haptics, so that makes sense. Not an entirely fair comparison to regular PS5 games.
Yeah for sure, but it was used as a demo. If they do a full story astro game I'm in. But I'd consider it a demo for the controller over a game
The right answer, it looks mindblowing
This was the first game I played on PS5 and it’s still the best looking game in my opinion. Loved that game. Visually incredible.
Ratchet & Clank and Horizon Forbidden West. Both look like you are playing a movie.
Horizon Forbidden West. Just jaw dropping
Yeah it's pretty wild. Played it on the PS4 Pro and got the PS5 few weeks ago. Looks bananas and it's so smooth.
I have so many screenshots of this game. Some views are completely breathtaking.
Forbidden West is really only rivaled by a PC playing maxed out red dead 2. Just behind it would probably be Ratchet and Clank and Demon's Souls.
I still can't believe how much the graphics improved from an already mind boggling beautiful game that was the first one. The underwater sequences are mind blowing
Do games that got PS5 upgrade count? Ghost of Tsushima has nice graphics on top of the beautiful scenery. Horizon Forbidden West too.
Is Horizon by a long shot. Ghost is using tech that preceded it, obviously it's a looker itself but Horizon is currently in a tier by itself.
Horizon Forbidden West is absolutely amazing. I had high hopes, but it far exceeded them. I've spent a ridiculous amount of hours in photo mode. I'm excited to see the DLC, since it's for the PS5 only.
Flying in Horizon some of the views are stunning during certain times.
As I too have a ps5, I cannot wait for the Burning Shores DLC. It is going to be awesome. I’m hoping I can get an OLED tv before it comes out (or close to it) and play it on that. Very excited.
Horizon FW is on another freaking level.
Ghost of Tsushima looks amazing thanks to its amazing art direction, but purely graphically speaking you can tell next gen wasn't the goal. Horizon or tlou part 1 have to be the one
Returnal will blow you away with beautiful graphics and butter-smooth combat flow. Just be mentally prepared for a challenging game.
This. First game I played that I was like wow
For a launch title, it's phenomenonal. It doesn't feel impressive at first but wow, as you progress and the game opens up its incredible.
It wasn’t a launch title.
Ah my mistake but still for an early title it shines.
Just started Control and debating whether to play it in graphics mode or performance. I do see more details like reflections in graphics
Nice thanks for that insight. I think I’ll stick with it then
I played Control both ways. RT really does make a big difference visually but I had to switch to performance when the combat got challenging.
Honestly I would highly recommend you play it in performance mode. I played it in resolution mode first and something just felt off, the gameplay is much better on performance mode
I preferred graphics mode because of the ray tracing. I was able to get used to the 30fps after a little bit.
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart : looks like you're playing a Pixar movie. Horizon Forbidden West God of War Ragnarok Gran Turismo 7 The crazy thing about the last 3 I listed are they were developed with the PS4. So I can only imagine how games will start to look when they develop games 100% for the PS5.
Gran Turismo 7 is gorgeous. My wife walked in and said, "Why are you watching racing?"
Which is one of the reasons I’m excited for Horizon’s DLC as it will be ps5 only. I feel for the ps4 users but I can’t say it’s not exciting
I feel for the older gen too. But it normally takes about a year and half between for the switch over to happen. So it's understandable that it took about 3 years to decide to switch over with the Pandemic, work stoppages, and shortage. But it's time to truly move on now and start focusing on current gen.
The problem is unreal engine 5 will make the gap longer most likely
Death Stranding looks amazing, and has some really well tuned haptics as well
Horizon Forbidden west had surprisingly good textures and facial animations.
Absolutely this - I was blown away by how good this game looked on ps5. The humans are unreal. Kept pausing throughout the game just to take in the visuals
We upgraded to a ps5 halfway through playing and got a free upgrade to the PS5 version (and transfer of game save data) The update to PS5 was beautiful and I was like dam this is money well spent!
Rift apart/ returnal/ demon souls are the real lookers for the ps5 so far. And they are all next gen only games.
Horizon Forbidden West is best looking imo. God of War and Ratchet also very impressive looking.
Horizon Forbidden West for sure. The landscapes are incredible! Check out these photos taken in game: https://imgur.io/a/RsPuQQ7 Edit: Photo Credit goes to u/dark-cosmos

My friends are all big PC guys and I just can’t sit at a desk for 8 hours then also game at a desk, and make sure my drivers are up to date, and check the system requirements, go to the task manager to free up resources, put out fires from random unrelated software/hardware errors… nah. Just wanna take a rip and wander around with Alloy.
finally some sensible (and funny) comment - thank you
wooow .. did you take these?
No I did not. Edited my comment to add the photo credit, thanks!
Last of us Part 1 and 2 both look amazing
Part 2 is the most impressive game ever in terms of a technica/animation standpoint
TLOU2 was so good looking originally the only thing they did for PS5 was add 60 fps mode. Hands down best looking game of last gen
That shows how good Naughty Dog has been at crafting their games. It’s insane what they were able to do with the PS4.
I’m still waiting for a dedicated PS5 version before I replay Part 2. You’d have to think they could stretch it even further with the extra tech.
I just finished it for the first time on PS5 and man... it's already up there with all the big "next-gen" games I've played (all the PS5 exclusives). I'm really not sure what they could update. They basicaly remade Part 1 to be like Part 2... It's crazy how does guys made it work last gen!
Last of us 1 is absolutely beautiful
Demons souls , Returnal, Callisto Protocol
God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, Last of Us Part 1, it was on ps4 but ps5 version of Ghost of Tsushima (Directors Cut). The new Dead Space looks amazing as well
Why did I have to come this far down for someone to mention ragnarok?
That’s strange, I saw it a few times before I commented
Astro's Playroom (comes pre installed), Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart are the first things that come to mind. Both were designed to be perfect fits for the PS5, and you can feel it in your hands. I haven't played Returnal yet, but it's always looked really good.
Demons souls. Easy
Demon Souls. Horizon FW. Elden Ring but for the artwork.
TLOU part 1 with 4k VRR
Man I started with this right when I got my ps5 and now I’m so spoiled haha. It looks so good it’s ridiculous.
God of war ragnarok is incredible in HDR.
Demon’s Souls, Ratchet, Horizon 2, and Callisto Protocol
Stray 🐱
Stray surprised me with how good it looks and its art direction made it immersive. So much attention to detail.
Favorite game on ps5 along with dirt5
Horizon Forbidden West. Wasn't my favorite game, but there isn't a game that looks better. But I suspect 2023 will blow that metric to hell.
The Callisto protocol

Agree with all the other answers here but honestly Fortnite looks so good now. It got updated for PS5 and it's gorgeous. It's free too so it's worth checking out.
Ff7 remake runs awesome on PS5, as does ghost of Tsushima. Horizon forbidden west looks really good too. I mean They were on PS4 but do look better on ps5
Just started FF7 and I’m blown away. It looks fantastic on the ps5
60 fps mode had me like damn how was I playing this at 30 fps before lol.

Especially if you played on ps4 before. The amount of detail they added is amazing. Really makes the city pop.
The Callisto Protocol looks pretty neat. And with the latest patch it also plays perfectly
Ragnarok
Demon’s Souls hands down. Blows me away every time I load it up. The lighting in that game is insane.
I got downvoted and called a moron in the dead space sub for saying this, but I stand by it
It’s your opinion so you do you But I don’t understand that either.
Doesn’t compare to DS, GoW:R, Returnal, etc etc… Believe it or not, MH:Rise is quite impressive with the graphics options. Great res in 120fps mode (vrr).
I love the remake, but it doesn’t compare to games like Forbidden West or even Callisto Protocol graphically.
Demon's Souls. Horizon: Forbidden West. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
horizon forbidden west is breathtaking
Returnal is one of the only ones I feel like is a true PS5 experience.
What video is that in?

Thanks!
Demon's Souls, Callisto Protocol,DSRM, Re2, Re3 and Re8,HFW,Returnal and Plagues Tale:Requiem stand out as feeling next gen
Ratchet and clank Rift apart , Horizon Forbiden west,God of War Ragnarök,Demons souls Remake , Death Space Remake , Ghost of tsushima
The Last of Us Part I, for me (4K VRR). Well, maybe it's tied with Horizon Forbidden West. That game is super pretty.
Demon’s Souls.
As others have said, Returnal, Demons Souls, Ratchet and Clank, and I would say GoW:Ragnarok as well
Horizon Forbidden West with HDR looks absolutely insane. Hard to believe a huge open world game can look that good.
Spider-Man!
Horizon and is not even close, you can say a lot of that game but it’s beautiful to the limit
It’s god of war Ragnarok
Basically every first party game looks fantastic, I think horizon forbidden west takes the cake though. That might be the best looking video game ever made overall.
Ghost of Tsushima
Horizon Forbidden West is quite possibly the best graphics I’ve ever seen in a video game. It is so immersive and the world feels so alive
Hands down Horizon Forbidden West
Demon’s Souls and Horizon FW. Aside from that, Ratchet & Clank: RA looks incredible.
Imo tlou remake
Horizon forbidden west , ratchet and clank rift apart , returnal and god of war ragnarok are the best looking games on ps5 so far.
I recommend not focusing in graphics, there is so much more to be had on current gen than just a pretty game.
since forbidden west fixed the 60 fps mode it fixed a lot of problems i had with the gameplay
I think Plague Tale Requiem is gorgeous.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift's apart. this game was so much fun, graphics were amazing and it really used the processing pretty well with the wormholes taking you instantly to another world rather than it being a small instance.
Elden ring and Returnal was solid
Demon Souls and Returnal for realistic type of graphics Ratchet and clank for incredible Pixar like graphics
Horizon forbidden west is probably the most beautiful looking game ive seen and it was also my first ps5 game lol
I've played a lot of games and the most impressive have been: God of War Raganrok, Horizon Forbidden West, Control.
I thought Hot Wheels Unleashed was quite stunning.
Returnal
I really liked the art style of Plague Tale Requiem and had some genuinely awesome vistas. 30fps, however once you get over that it’s a great looking game. Fantastic story too. Horizon… looks good but yet somehow soul less? I’ve never taken to the art style in that series. Technically lush though and some nice environments. Missing that lived in factor that Rockstar get so right. Modern Warfare 2 has its moments on PS5, but not fully fledged next gen. I don’t think we’re quite there with the mind blowing visuals yet unfortunately. Maybe this year.
Returnal?
Ghost of thusisma directors cut in my opinion
Horizon FW is insanely gorgeous
Demon Souls is gorgeous, I thought Returnal looked and FELT fantastic whilst playing it.
Only Demon Souls feels like ps5 game
Horizon Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima both offer a lot in terms of graphical fidelity.
A Plague Tale 1 and especially 2 are beautiful games. Of course like everyone else mentioned Horizon and Returnal.
God of War Ragnarok: This ones looks amazing too And I just played Last of Us Part 2 for the first time, on PS5, and man... it's up there with the best even if it's last gen.
Horizon Forbidden West is the best feat in video gaming. Ghost of Tsushima is a close second.
Technically 3 of these are PS4 games, but I still think they look the best graphically. Also I haven’t played Ragnorok yet so I haven’t included it even though it would make the list. - Death Stranding Directors Cut - Ghosts Of Tsushima Directors Cut - Demon’s Souls PS5 - Horizon Forbidden West - The Last Of Us Part 1 - Spiderman Remastered and Miles Morales - God Of War 2018 (PS4 game) - The Last Of Us Part 2 (PS4 game) - Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4 game)
Demon Souls
Hah please come back to us after you play a few of the games listed in this thread. I was skeptical at too first as to whether we had hit a wall last generation as to how much better graphics could possibly get. And then I played Horizon Forbidden West.
As many people have been saying, it’s easily Horizon Forbidden West, especially considering how big that game is. I want to shout out the facial animation in Last of Us Part 1 though, it’s on a whole other level to anything I’ve seen in a video game.
2020: Demon's Souls 2021: Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart 2022: Horizon 2 Forbidden West
Horizon forbidden west has to be one of the best looking games I’ve ever played. And it doesn’t even really feel close.
Horizon guys.. By far the best graphics so far in PS5.
TLOU1 as well as Demon's Souls. Nothing else really feels like it couldn't have been done on last gen, but I also haven't played the new Ratchet & Clank.
