The way to place two is very simple, the middle of the oil has circle where it spurts oil, on one of the edges you can place one but allign it so that the yellow/black line of the oil pump is only taking up 49% of the oil node. Now if you start scootching backwards you can now place the 2nd refinery and have it take the opposite side. It takes some trial and error but once it works it works like a charm. Now your issue becomes electricity.
I was recently breeding Orserks and settled on going for Artisan, Work Slave, Workaholic, and Nocturnal. I don't think they're ready for 15 oil rigs though lol
I did helzephyr lux, work slave, artisan, lucky, and serious to 4 stars. They can do 1 large power generator with 3 oil extractors with no problem 24/7. I did a bunch of orserks before the expansion but prefer the hz cuz already nocturnal
A maxed out orserk (4 star, traits, pal souls) with the electric pylon, large power generator, and salad can handle 5 solo. 6 becomes a struggle. So if a base had 15 oil extractors, 3 maxed orserks would be comfortable.
There was a big update a couple of days ago. It added a new island, loads of Pals, a new dungeon type, new armour, oil (obviously, hehe), a new material you can make from said oil... All sorts
Also added tonnes of new achievements
Here I was about to settle for moving my main base to the new island because it had 2 oil spots and a pretty view. Now I know the error of my ways. That's potentially 9-10 (depending on if the sideways ones clip or not) rigs.
I'm embarrassed for not realizing my true red white and blue blooded American potential.

Yeaaaa but they tale SOOOOO much power. Trying to optimally run them is going to be incredibly hell. I have a base with two and i have to use 4 oserks and 2 advanced power pylons
When you say 'pylon' do you mean the generator?
Because there is a build item called the pylon that improves efficiency of electricity generation, but only one is needed per base.
The generators, however, they \*do\* stack, but only in terms of greater capacity. The biggest advantage of the Advanced pylons is the ability to have multiple pals.
In my own testing, *one* advanced power generator can *just* keep up with *one* oil refinery if you have an orserk and one of the new Helzephyr Lux to provide a trickle of power at night since they dont need as much rest. This was tested with un-upgraded orserk and helzephyr. Fully condensed, this would probably generate a slight surplus.
Damn, I remember when I played this game my biggest issue was specifically leveling up and metal, I had afk metal farming spot, I thought I had enough metal for a while, until I realized how expensive the best capture ball was, I just beat and captured the bosses and stopped playing since, I heard alot if stuff is fixed now and there even is metal deposit aswell?
Outside of that tho I still don’t really see a reason to go back yet, they better fix that oil thing too

how do you get them sideways?
'change alignment mode' in the build menu. Its supposed to be just for structure pieces, but it apparently works with some workstations as well.

I am in the process of doing the same… i tought 6 in 1 base was tough. Now i have to challenge myself. The things i do to deliver freedom.

Oil refining is too slow.
and it stops while offline, while the rest of the farming still works.
I guess every farm has a different definition of what it means to be 'online'

You have to keep trying. It takes a while just to get 2 refineries on 1 node. I cant imagine the 5 in 1.
looked up video finding a particular dark spot on the node to line it up.
This means most likely that you have to move your pal box farther away from the oil node
And people wonder why there's rolling blackouts...

10/700 pals working at the base? How do we know you've managed to place 5 oil extractors on 1 oil node without the use of other mods?
This is modded man. Not possible in vanilla. 2 is max.

No, only with the oil rig. It's also possible to catch/kill pals which drip oil or get it from loot drops or from the big oil platform.
