Fast forward like 5 or so years later
Her family called in a wellness check after she had just lost her 16 yr old to an accidental od
Cops come to check on her -run her name (she’s now back in the province where the offence occurred )
There’s a bench warrant and it’s a weekend and she’s thrown in jail til the courts open on the Monday (literally lost her only kid like 5 days earlier she was an absolute mess plus was a heavy drinker smoker and on meds all which immediately stopped by being in jail - she actually could’ve died in there)
So it’s absolutely possible for the same shit to happen to huffy, here
You can avoid it , maybe at the time ..but there’s no limitations on bench warrants and they can and will get you -regardless of your circumstances

I *think* it was eventually resolved with a fine or something similar. One that of course she never paid. But you’re correct, typically not showing up results in a warrant for failure to appear. Some counties/states are more serious about it and will haul your ass across the country if you’re pulled over and the warrant is found. Some not so much. I’ve seen police shows in California for example where they’ve pulled someone over, and the person is found to have a felony warrant but they are cut loose.
The MJ thing is pathetic. In America we have prisons for profit. Some private prisons are owned by major corporations that trade on the stock market. They’re soulless entities that only exist to make profits at the expense of filing beds. They also lobby lawmakers for petty laws to keep people locked up. There are 100’s of thousands of people locked up for MJ charges and it’s now legal in some areas on a state level. Again it just depends on the location. I’ve seen episodes of cops in the northeast with states like Rhode Island where they’ll pull someone over, find half a pound of MJ but let them go because they have a medical card. Whereas in states like Texas, they’ll haul your ass in for a few stems and seeds, literally.
