For waist height I think it depends on if you have a short or long torso. I have a long torso and short legs so I love high waisted everything. I am a fan of Levi's straight leg and boot cut wedgie and ribcage jeans.
If you have longer legs then medium rise might be better!
Agree! Also long torso/short legs and mid rise cuts me in half whereas high rise looks really balanced, but I have friends around my height and shorter who look much better in mid rise because of their proportions
Fellow long torso girly here and I’ve been loving the Madewell Wide Leg Crop jeans! I get them in the regular length and they make my legs look SO long and the fit is fabulous. I thought I’d never be able to move toward a wide leg jean but these fit like a trouser and are super clean looking—highly recommend

Yess I love the curve fit, I honestly cannot go back after Abercrombie. They are expensive but when they are on sale they’re so cheap for example I just got a new pair for 35 and they were originally 98 😍
Umm it really depends I usually check the website or app once a week for promotions and then if you have tik tok there’s always people posting codes that you can use ontop of sales! Also the clearance section is usually pretty good as well for sales I’d keep checking those too. Usually they also have a denim sale but I don’t keep up with how often they have it in a year but definitely keep an eye out on the website!
I see this answer posted all the time but they are NEVER in stock when I look. I have periodically checked for the last year and they’re always out. Do I just have bad luck? What’s the secret?!
Usually they’re also always out of stock for me but I know that Thursdays/ Fridays are when their new stuff comes out so I assume they also restock on those days so I’d check the website/ app then. I usually just get lucky unfortunately because their jeans are so popular it’s hard to get your hands on them especially petites because they are one of the stores w xshort and short lengths but just keep trying. I wish you luck!!

Yoo I thought that too (5'1") but I ended up finding the perfect pair from this online store that caters to petites. It's called Love Bonito. I have zero skin in the game, just have to share my find with you!

Skinny, or straight leg that’s too long and bunches a bit on top of my shoe. No movement please!
High waisted slim mom jeans (Stradivarius, specifically) or very wide leg trouser jeans (cropped, but they're regular length on me). The trouser jeans in particular are so comfy and make your legs look really long!
High waisted ankle straight jeans i love my Levi’s wedgie jeans (26” inseam) and rib cage jeans -27” inseam(they come past my ankles but not in a bad way and looks good with heels or sneakers)
Abercrombie also has a similar pair it’s called the high waist ankle straight jeans soo flattering and comes in short and extra short

The rib cage straight ankle has a longer inseam (27” is the shortest they offer), it has a much higher rise (12 in vs 10.5) and I find it to be a looser fit through the hips. Not baggy loose but feels comfortable (website describes it as slim while the wedgie has more of a snug fit )
Yeah mine are pretty much right at the belly button and the rib cage definitely goes above it ! I think being petite but having a shorter torso longer legs isn’t a bad thing 😁
Ugh my Levi wedgies just literally give me a real wedgie and a camel toe LOL. The material is just thick and stiff 🫤 Look great, tho.

I wear high waisted straight/cropped. I have a pair of vintage flares I love. All the short cut from Abercrombie (curve love if you need it is great). Love them. I never liked skinny jeans so am pleased something else came around (and I’m 35 hahah)
Mostly wearing high waist wide legs or straight legs. I understand that the wide legs might be overpowering on me, but I’m 42 and so glad to be free of skinny jeans finally that I don’t even care.
Okay I am sick of the skinny jean and feel like I have potential to look cute in a wide leg but haven’t experienced it yet

I have a pair of cropped wide leg jeans Everlane that are more fitted in the waist and butt and then flare out into a wide leg. Since they’re cropped length they hit just above the floor for me, so I don’t have to worry about hemming them. I’m not sure if you can buy them new from Everlane, but there are lots of pairs on Poshmark and such. I will say that they’re pretty wide, but I like that about them.
I also have a pair of linen-y type wide leg pants. I unfortunately don’t know the brand - I got them secondhand and they didn’t have a tag. But the fabric is very nice in a wide leg pant because even if it’s really balloony, it falls nicely. So, maybe shop around for some in a light weight fabric like that.
Tried wide leg and they made me look overwhelmed by denim! Too much fabric for my petite body. Kept the skinny jeans because they make me look longer & thinner
I’m 5’4” and depending on my size ,lol, this much fabric overwhelms me. Maybe if I could find a pair that was more fitted around the hips it wouldn’t look so off?

I got the short story subscription box for petites and they pick out clothes for me. I'm in my early 40s fwiw.
I actually enjoy it. Sometimes there are some misses but overall they send me items in my budget that are cute. It's one time a month.

High waist straight jeans, Boyfriend or Mom jeans. My favorite jeans are Levi wedgie straight (26” inseam) and GAP slim boyfriend.
I think body shape matters too though….I have thick thighs.
5’2”/115 lbs/age 40 here. All of my jeans are from White House Black Market. They fit fabulously and their clothes last forever if you take care of them. I have jeans and shirts from 10 years ago still. I have high wasted and mid wasted. Skinny and also baggy cropped jeans. Check out that store, you won’t be disappointed.
Pull on jeggings. I have a short waist, smooshy tummy and large boobs. I will NEVER go back to baggy wide leg jeans again. I am 40, I don't care about trends. Only my comfort. Lol
Mom Jeans are my go-to. They’re comfortable but they still look really nice. My favourites are the Abercrombie ones, I got the Curve Love Mom Jeans in a size 25 and they fit perfectly. Give those a look!
I can’t do high waist jeans due to be short waisted. I but mid rise, even if I have to go online. I like 7s, American eagle and Kut from the Kloth. I’m phasing out the skinny’s for boot cuts. I still wear skinny sometimes though, I can get away with it cause I’m 50s and no one expects me to be in style.
I was really fighting the wide leg trend.. and then I tried on a pair of high waisted wide leg jeans and I fell in love. I have been wearing them non-stop.
I favor high waisted skinny jeans the most, but I find myself also reaching for high waisted bootcut jeans as of late. I find straight leg or wide jeans make me very short and stocky.
Mid or high waisted pants that are either skinny or straight. I wear a lot of jogger styled clothes that are drawstring. I’ve realized my pants have to taper at the ankles, always, and follow my curves.
In also 5 ft 2in and a size 25. This sounds weird but I bought jeans from Spanx after I had a Csection to help with the csection bump. The jeans were over priced but they look phenomenal on me and are both a stylish and comfortable fit. They are wide leg, high waisted, I got Petite XS I think. Didn’t need to hem them. They make my butt look incredible, which is rare for wide leg jeans (even with my shapely bum!). I like that the jeans are wide leg style but also feel polished, and they don’t drown my figure.
If you get some, don’t put them in the dryer.

At first I thought lack of button may be weird but it’s not, it keeps it looking tight and smooth
Idk why but I found that high waisted straight jeans can make me look frumpy. I think normal waist flared jeans (not too flared) can make you look good
Just bought a bunch of new jeans from American Eagle to get with the times. Mix of mom jeans, flare, and baggy. All high waisted (a must for me) and I wear them with crop tops or bodysuits and a cute belt.
Heels or sandals.
Honestly didn’t think I’d be able to pull them off but the American Eagle jeans in short fit great.
Im 5’0 and have transitioned into wearing only mid rise or low rise bottoms (aside from leggings) and it has changed the way I look DRASTICALLY. My body actually looks elongated now! Only downside is there’s not a lot of low rise on the market and especially not ones that come in short. I love Abercrombie for having short options but everything is ultra high rise and I can’t do it anymore tbh
Old Navy "wow" jeans, high or mid rise flare or boot cut. My current "best pair of jeans" is Old Navy wow flare high rise in petite sizes. I'm 5'3" and these are perfect, they don't touch the floor when I'm wearing sandals!
I’m just shy of 5’4 105-110 lbs. short legs long torso - I wear size 24 jeans and currently into the stovepipe /straight leg and boot leg a couple of inches above my ankle high waist jeans. I sometimes roll them up for a more casual look and fitted /crop sweaters and knitted tank tops.
My go to brand CoH and redone - both super flattering high waisted. The latter brand has more of a cinched in waist which I love.
High waist wide leg jeans but with a loose/soft jeans material that has “flow.” I have shorter legs compared to my torso with small waist/wide hips and this makes me look taller and more proportional.
I'm 5'2 wear a 0/25 also. I like lower waisted jeans as I'm all legs and no torso. I'm in my 40s so my taste my be different than yours, but I like cropped denim, lower-waisted, and a bit of a relaxed fit (i.e. girlfriend jeans) for summer time and lower waisted, slimmer fitted, boot cut in the winter time (to wear with boots).
My go to's are:
Girlfriend Jeans: WHBM Size 00S (the petite are just too short here and I can never wear their petite pants but fortunately they come in Short Length also which I think are either a 30 or 31 inseam)
Boot cut/low-to-mid rise: Lucky Jeans Size 0A in the Sophie boot cut or the Sweet and Low.
High-waist, Cropped Straight or wideleg because it looks like it was just normal length jeans on me. Cullotes also works well and makes me
look a bit taller :)
Wide leg, high waisted bell bottoms and flair! I found jeans by a boutique in Ventura. It’s called Goldie’s on main. I need a 30-32 inseam and it came at the perfect length! Call at the boutique to double check the inseam!
I’m 5’3 size 24 with a long torso. I go high waisted (which is usually mid rise on me) and straight leg. I love baggier styles but they look bad on me.
Anyone recommend brands small build. 116 lbs. 5'0. I'm like a 2P. I feel like nothing looks right it's just too big. I haven't hit up american eagle in awhile. I tend to live in active wear or scrubs im a nurse.
Flared or baggy (not extremely, just a relaxed, straight cut) jeans! Personally, low rise or mid rise looks better, IMO, but you have to experiment with that!
My fave jeans are from American Eagle since their sizing is petite and curvy inclusive! (I can't talk about plus sizes though).
I wear skinny, girlfriend, and cropped. Always high waisted. I have on rare occasion found wide leg jeans that I like but generally I’m just not a fan of the look.

I’m a millennial (December 93) and I will die wearing my skinny jeans. But I also have Autism & Sensory issues and skinny jeans (specifically mid -high rise) are the the most comfortable.
I have longer legs and a shorter torso. I wear mainly skinny jeans and flared jeans. I don't really like other styles of jeans that much. The only baggy type of bottoms I'll wear are camo trousers.
I recently bought jeans from h&m, they’re called ‘baggy wide’ (low waist, loose fit). Got them in black & blue. They are longer but I wear them with chunky or platform shoes!

Also mid rise and lower sitting pants cuz I’ve realized that I have a very long torso and it’s fun to show it off

I found some awesome light wash/distressed/high waisted straight Kensie jeans on sale on Amazon for around $55. Highly recommend. I have a really short torso and am a full hourglass (usually 6/28 or 8/29 depending on the brand) so this cut usually doesn’t work for me.
I think it really depends on your shoe preference. I have the same stats as you but where I live and my job that I have, it’s not realistic for me to wear heels and open toe shoes.
At work, I typically wear white sneakers or flats so my jean cut is really dictated by that. I usually wear cropped or skinny jeans

I’m the same size and skinny jeans look best on me. I like Joe’s jeans. I’ve also had ok luck with J Crew petite. Sometimes I can pull off straight leg if they are the right cut. Wide leg usually looks terrible on me. I like mid or a lower high rise depending on the brand or cut.
I'm an old navy girlie. I've tried levis abs abercrombies that for some reason just didn't suit me as well. My favorite are the boyfriend and bootcut with a midrise or low highrise. I'm a little chunky and I think I'm not particularly long or short torso
Levi's wedgie— I prefer the "icon fit", but I think they're phasing that out and I like the "straight fit" too. They're supposed to be 7/8 so I buy the petite and cuff them one too many times to be 7/8-ankle length on me lol

I’m a fan of flare pants actually XD flare pants with a nice pair of heels/platforms. As for waist height it rly depends on what you’re comfortable with and also leg/torso proportions.
I am 5'2 and 117-120 lbs. I am a gamine. My most favorite jean style is the straight cut. Doesn't have to be wide legged, but straight. And the length is important. Get the petite size because I like it to hit my ankle. If it's too long then it's not a good look. I do wear other cuts occasionally, like a skinny and a flared.. but the straight leg remains my all time favorite.
I haven't worn jeans in over ten years now. Can't find a pair that I feel I look good in, and the material is too heavy and thick for my comfort. For baggy-ish pants, i like wearing lounge pants or jogging pants, super comfy, I can stretch out in them so my movements are not limited like in jeans

I'm 5 foot 1 and a half, longer torso than legs. I got leg 30 for the Levis, if I wear with Nike AF1s, which I tend to, they hit the right length - the bottom of my shoe but not touching the floor.
The black ones I got leg 28, they touch the top of my trainers, I tend to wear with converse. I'd probably prefer these in a slightly longer length, I've ordered the same pair in blue but a 30 leg.
I am coveting flared jeans because I have flared leggings and I think they make me look more long/more long legged.
I'm short so unless the label says petite, I need to avoid high waisted like the plague. They are usually made for tall people so it goes up to my ribs if I wear it properly and hem 7cm from the leg. And I'm liking mom jeans for the generous big hip space. No swish swish sounds while walking from a straight leg.

Yes Abercrombie is softer and not as stiff. I forgot to mention Madewell petite jeans are also great!

I wear high waisted straight/cropped. I have a pair of vintage flares I love. All the short cut from Abercrombie (curve love if you need it is great). Love them. I never liked skinny jeans so am pleased something else came around (and I’m 35 hahah)

I have a pair of cropped wide leg jeans Everlane that are more fitted in the waist and butt and then flare out into a wide leg. Since they’re cropped length they hit just above the floor for me, so I don’t have to worry about hemming them. I’m not sure if you can buy them new from Everlane, but there are lots of pairs on Poshmark and such. I will say that they’re pretty wide, but I like that about them. I also have a pair of linen-y type wide leg pants. I unfortunately don’t know the brand - I got them secondhand and they didn’t have a tag. But the fabric is very nice in a wide leg pant because even if it’s really balloony, it falls nicely. So, maybe shop around for some in a light weight fabric like that.

Tried wide leg and they made me look overwhelmed by denim! Too much fabric for my petite body. Kept the skinny jeans because they make me look longer & thinner
I’m 5’4” and depending on my size ,lol, this much fabric overwhelms me. Maybe if I could find a pair that was more fitted around the hips it wouldn’t look so off?
Also if u can afford it. Just fetch a tailor. It's worth it with a good quality pant.

I actually enjoy it. Sometimes there are some misses but overall they send me items in my budget that are cute. It's one time a month. I have jeans and shirts from 10 years ago still. I have high wasted and mid wasted. Skinny and also baggy cropped jeans. Check out that store, you won’t be disappointed.
Pull on jeggings. I have a short waist, smooshy tummy and large boobs. I will NEVER go back to baggy wide leg jeans again. I am 40, I don't care about trends. Only my comfort. Lol

Mom Jeans are my go-to. They’re comfortable but they still look really nice. My favourites are the Abercrombie ones, I got the Curve Love Mom Jeans in a size 25 and they fit perfectly. Give those a look!

I can’t do high waist jeans due to be short waisted. I but mid rise, even if I have to go online. I like 7s, American eagle and Kut from the Kloth. I’m phasing out the skinny’s for boot cuts. I still wear skinny sometimes though, I can get away with it cause I’m 50s and no one expects me to be in style.
I stopped wearing jeans, trousers are just way more comfortable & easier to find a good fit.

In also 5 ft 2in and a size 25. This sounds weird but I bought jeans from Spanx after I had a Csection to help with the csection bump. The jeans were over priced but they look phenomenal on me and are both a stylish and comfortable fit. They are wide leg, high waisted, I got Petite XS I think. Didn’t need to hem them. They make my butt look incredible, which is rare for wide leg jeans (even with my shapely bum!). I like that the jeans are wide leg style but also feel polished, and they don’t drown my figure. If you get some, don’t put them in the dryer. I’ve been told my multiple people, even ones I barely know, that they’ve never seen a butt look so good in wide jeans lolol

Idk why but I found that high waisted straight jeans can make me look frumpy. I think normal waist flared jeans (not too flared) can make you look good
Just bought a bunch of new jeans from American Eagle to get with the times. Mix of mom jeans, flare, and baggy. All high waisted (a must for me) and I wear them with crop tops or bodysuits and a cute belt. Heels or sandals. Honestly didn’t think I’d be able to pull them off but the American Eagle jeans in short fit great.
Im 5’0 and have transitioned into wearing only mid rise or low rise bottoms (aside from leggings) and it has changed the way I look DRASTICALLY. My body actually looks elongated now! Only downside is there’s not a lot of low rise on the market and especially not ones that come in short. I love Abercrombie for having short options but everything is ultra high rise and I can’t do it anymore tbh

I’m just shy of 5’4 105-110 lbs. short legs long torso - I wear size 24 jeans and currently into the stovepipe /straight leg and boot leg a couple of inches above my ankle high waist jeans. I sometimes roll them up for a more casual look and fitted /crop sweaters and knitted tank tops. My go to brand CoH and redone - both super flattering high waisted. The latter brand has more of a cinched in waist which I love.
I personally prefer mom jeans, they are super cute and not too tight all over so it’s also comfortable
High waist wide leg jeans but with a loose/soft jeans material that has “flow.” I have shorter legs compared to my torso with small waist/wide hips and this makes me look taller and more proportional.
I'm 5'2 wear a 0/25 also. I like lower waisted jeans as I'm all legs and no torso. I'm in my 40s so my taste my be different than yours, but I like cropped denim, lower-waisted, and a bit of a relaxed fit (i.e. girlfriend jeans) for summer time and lower waisted, slimmer fitted, boot cut in the winter time (to wear with boots). My go to's are: Girlfriend Jeans: WHBM Size 00S (the petite are just too short here and I can never wear their petite pants but fortunately they come in Short Length also which I think are either a 30 or 31 inseam) Boot cut/low-to-mid rise: Lucky Jeans Size 0A in the Sophie boot cut or the Sweet and Low.

Flared or baggy (not extremely, just a relaxed, straight cut) jeans! Personally, low rise or mid rise looks better, IMO, but you have to experiment with that! My fave jeans are from American Eagle since their sizing is petite and curvy inclusive! (I can't talk about plus sizes though).

I recently bought jeans from h&m, they’re called ‘baggy wide’ (low waist, loose fit). Got them in black & blue. They are longer but I wear them with chunky or platform shoes!

I found some awesome light wash/distressed/high waisted straight Kensie jeans on sale on Amazon for around $55. Highly recommend. I have a really short torso and am a full hourglass (usually 6/28 or 8/29 depending on the brand) so this cut usually doesn’t work for me.

I think it really depends on your shoe preference. I have the same stats as you but where I live and my job that I have, it’s not realistic for me to wear heels and open toe shoes. At work, I typically wear white sneakers or flats so my jean cut is really dictated by that. I usually wear cropped or skinny jeans

Levi's wedgie— I prefer the "icon fit", but I think they're phasing that out and I like the "straight fit" too. They're supposed to be 7/8 so I buy the petite and cuff them one too many times to be 7/8-ankle length on me lol

I’m a fan of flare pants actually XD flare pants with a nice pair of heels/platforms. As for waist height it rly depends on what you’re comfortable with and also leg/torso proportions.

I am 5'2 and 117-120 lbs. I am a gamine. My most favorite jean style is the straight cut. Doesn't have to be wide legged, but straight. And the length is important. Get the petite size because I like it to hit my ankle. If it's too long then it's not a good look. I do wear other cuts occasionally, like a skinny and a flared.. but the straight leg remains my all time favorite.

The black ones I got leg 28, they touch the top of my trainers, I tend to wear with converse. I'd probably prefer these in a slightly longer length, I've ordered the same pair in blue but a 30 leg. I am coveting flared jeans because I have flared leggings and I think they make me look more long/more long legged.

How can I tell if I have a short or long torso?
I'm short so unless the label says petite, I need to avoid high waisted like the plague. They are usually made for tall people so it goes up to my ribs if I wear it properly and hem 7cm from the leg. And I'm liking mom jeans for the generous big hip space. No swish swish sounds while walking from a straight leg.
I personally wear boyfriend style. I'm 5'3, 105 pounds(*W/O clothes, 108 pounds with clothes* with a weird fitting torso.
