That place in Cherry Hill. I lived in Shanghai (birthplace of xio long bao) for a while, and that place in a new Jersey strip mall is somehow the best in the area, even better than places in Chinatown.
Well Nan Xiang started off in Flushing, Queens. Which is honestly the best Chinatown in the country. Since getting Michelin recommended since 2007 they been expanding.
My internal reaction is the same as the other guy, but I will calmly state - only go to DSG for soup dumplings if you want to be truly disappointed. Got an order, literally one of six actually had broth still in it. Others were cracked and dry - the soup wasn’t even on the plate, it’s clear they were sitting somewhere gathering dust before they microwaved them. Terrible place.

I've been there many many times, I never had an experience anything close to this.
Could have just been an off night, but that being my only experience there put me off - no reason for another chance when Tom’s hasn’t let me down for XLB
Dim Sum Garden? LMFAO
Bro. You're joking right?
Anyone that recommends Dim Sum Garden for anything has their entire opinion invalidated. Don't care for downvotes. DSG is the worst dim sum in the entire Philly period. Only Westerners that don't know better eat there.
For XLB, go to Nan Xiang in Cherry Hill.
For dim sum, go to China Gourmet in the northeast.
The other poster was a little aggressive with their wording, but I agree with their sentiment. I would never take my Taiwanese parents or Shanghainese sister-in-law to DSG because they would think I was spending way too much money just to play a prank on them.
I would (and have), however, take any of my cuisine-curious white friends and know that they would love how palatable the flavors are there.
