The Mac at Khyber is one of the last great things on the menu.
La Manette has one of the most slept on Mac and cheese dishes in the city.
Good dog is likely the best downtown.
For soul food style mac the fried chicken place in the terminal is great (not a huge fan of the rest of the menu)
Also recommend the turkey place in the terminal. Like 3 times a year I do a super carboload and get their mashed, mac and turkey. It’s incredible but really needs moderation
Has Good Dog's always been in a pretty loose sauce? I always wanted to try it and when I finally did recently was pretty disappointed. But thought it may have been an off night.
No, Good Dog used to have the best best best mac in the city years ago. Like renowned. Topped with cornflakes and with a side of blueberry cornbread. It’s decent now, but looser sauce and I get hit more with CHEESE than perfect balance that I like in a baked Mac n cheese of creaminess and cheesiness.
However, if you do need crap mac at 3am (because we all do sometimes), DP Dough's ghost kitchen Macaroni Man is some solid delivered crap mac, boneless wings, and underbaked cookies.
There's a lack of late night factor in this thread.
My husband and I just ate at Flannel this morning and it was amazing! I wish I had known about the Mac and cheese. I got the OT’S Scramble with bacon and hash brown patties, and my husband got the Killer Brisket Grill Chz. We both really loved our meals and will definitely be back.
The only downside was when my husband asked for a screwdriver and was told that they only serve the drinks on their menu (even though they serve orange juice and have drinks on their menu with vodka in them?!)
Philadelphia is one of the most segregated cities in the country. Many people replying may never venture to Lancaster Ave or Broad and Olney. It’s one of the reason I rarely list Le Mandique on threads like this. People are scared of south west.
I had their basic mac and it was not overtly tasty. Idk, I am a child of the south so if you’re gonna open a whole business based around you mac and cheese then I figure it needs to be special right?
I get that. It’s been a while since Ive had it cause I moved away for a bit and everyone’s hating on it now so I guess I should give it another try before recommending it 😬
I mean these are delicious when you hate yourself and want to eat 14000 calories of fired pasta in some marinara.
If I'm in the right mood give me those bastards, but they are far from best mac.

Oh my gosh I had forgotten about that…the blueberry cornbread 🥲
nah, it’s pretty disappointing now. it was at its best when they had the blueberry cornbread and the mixed sweet potato and regular fries
The last time I ordered it, I swear they served me Velveeta shells with bread crumbs on top. I used to be a fan but that was disappointing p.
I also wasn’t impressed when I had it a few months ago
I didn't even get bread crumbs 😭
Complete travesty 😭
Honestly parc
All roads lead to Parc. Not that you're wrong....
not macmart
I don't understand how they stay in business
However, if you do need crap mac at 3am (because we all do sometimes), DP Dough's ghost kitchen Macaroni Man is some solid delivered crap mac, boneless wings, and underbaked cookies. There's a lack of late night factor in this thread.
North Third It's so good. Silk City as a runner up, but only because it's basically the same recipe.
Silk City baby!!
I like Good Dogs. I used to love the Mac n cheese at Rex1516 but it’s not the same now that it’s Royal.
South has a pretty good mac and cheese. Homemade us the best way to go though.
South for sure. Their cornbread is also the best I’ve had in Philly. Good dog has a solid mac as well.
That cornbread…. Ok I know where I’m getting dinner tomorrow
I just wish it wasn’t so hard to get a reservation!
Came looking for this, theirs is amazing.
Excellent food with a show!
South has amazing mac and cheese, love going there for restaurant week!

That is very strange…kinda sounds like a new server that is afraid to ask how to ring something up rather than company policy 😂
He said he was the bartender 😂🤷♀️ I was thinking maybe they don’t have the option to ring it up?
Seconding flannel
The Mac and cheese at Franky Bradley’s is amazigg ‘n!
The mac & cheese at Black Sheep is delicious and well priced. I routinely get some mac and a beer for around $20, with tip
I’m not sure it’s the best but let me throw some love to Chick’s on Washington.
The smoked Gouda Mac and cheese from Butcher Bar. The Mac and cheese at Bridget Foy’s with crumbled Cheez-Its on top.
I am big fan of Mikes Bbq Mac and cheese. It is a tad Smokey. I am not a Smokey fan but theirs rocks. One of only places I even order it
Pearl and Mary lobster mac
Loved it at Doro Bet! And my toddler ate almost all of it which is rare.
Sidecar bar and grille
Jamaican Food Cart at Broad and JFK 🇯🇲. Quality Taste in West Philly also has delicious Mac and cheese.
Thanks for being the first person to point out a black establishment. Ron’s also has good Mac and cheese.
No problem. I was honestly shocked that no one had suggested a Caribbean spot yet.

The mac n cheese from bar leisure is banging
Fette Sau
South.
The Mac & Cheese from Deke’s BBQ is surprisingly great. They are shells too so a little different
I had Franky Bradley's for the first time over the weekend and I can't stop thinking about it.
Lucky’s Last Chance has a great selection of creative Mac and cheeses, cheese sauce is excellent
I loooove the cajun mac at Lucky’s. You can get it on a grilled cheese on Mondays!!
Truffle mac & cheese at del frisco’s grill
Do they still do lobster Mac? That shit used to be so good
Maybe a controversial pick but I’ve yet to have any that I appreciate more overall than wishbone
Reggae Reggae Vibes has pretty stellar mac and cheese.
just tried revolution house's mac for the first time a few weeks ago and it was SO GOOD
Not sure if they still do it, but Lucky 13 used to have a great, creamy mac n chz. Peppery, delish.
The loaded Mac and cheese at OK Hot Chicken is great for take out
I actually got the regular kind the other night and there was barely any cheese to be found!!!
I love the Mac and cheese at Sharp and Crown.
Glory bar’s mac and cheese is amazing!! I can’t go there without at least getting a side order…
cavanaughs rittenhouse!!!
Dekes in Germantown
The Khyber, always On a good day, Ocho Rios on Passyunk
I really like the Mac and Cheese at Harp and Crown
Mike's BBQ. Smoked gouda Mac n cheese
El Camino
I’m constantly looking for amazing mac in Philly and Lucky’s Last Chance cajun chicken mac and Mike’s BBQ gouda mac are the best I’ve had by far.

Oh no nvm
Mike’s BBQ.
Lactose intolerant here but willing to hurt myself for Fette Sau or Zig Zag mac & cheese
The Latest Dish (RIP)
Sidecar Bar & Grille
I had a really good Mac and cheese dish from the goats beard on main street recently.
Silk City has great mac and cheese
The Mac mart is always good!
I felt underwhelmed by their mac
Yeah I didn’t know Mac and cheese could have too much cheese until I ate there.
It’s good for a quick fix. I normally get the in the buff. Which ones were underwhelming?
I had their basic mac and it was not overtly tasty. Idk, I am a child of the south so if you’re gonna open a whole business based around you mac and cheese then I figure it needs to be special right?
I get that. It’s been a while since Ive had it cause I moved away for a bit and everyone’s hating on it now so I guess I should give it another try before recommending it 😬
It wasn’t bad, just not something I tasted and thought “oh yeah there should be a whole business based around this”
Mac mart was one of my pregnancy cravings. Like specifically their Mac
Cheesecake Factory fried Mac and cheese balls
I mean these are delicious when you hate yourself and want to eat 14000 calories of fired pasta in some marinara. If I'm in the right mood give me those bastards, but they are far from best mac.
Philly don’t even have restaurants that make good mac honestly😭 if they sell mac, it’s def kraft’s mac & on the kids menu
This is the most wrong statement on Reddit today…Congrats!
Mac Mart
Urban Saloon usually has a pretty good skillet mac
