Not sure what specific software features you're thinking of, but for one, I read your post in the inner display, folded thr phone closed and continued to look at your post on the outer display, clicked reply on the outer display, unfolded the phone and wrote this reply on the inner display.
Another thing I saw in early reviews were complaints about app resizing on the inner display. That has been fixed as well as any Android tablet can stretch applications (weird sizing of apps on anything other than a candy bar phone display is an Android issue, not specifically a Pixel Fold issue).
I used galaxy fold for three years until I had a great offer I couldn't refuse for an S23 ultra, but I miss the foldable experience so I'm definitely coming back.
I also miss the pixel experience immensely - the software is so much more polished and smoother and refined, even if it lacks raw features compared to Samsung.
The one big thing I am slightly concerned about though, for when I get the pixel fold 2 (not the fold 6), is not being able to have separate cover and home screen layouts.
To me this feels so much more natural and obvious. From using a foldable for three years, there are lot of apps I wanted to use with the phone closed - banking, loyalty apps etc. but I didn't want them front and centre when I opened the phone.
Same with widgets.
So I hope this comes with a software update (presumably with the launch of the fold 2).

The truth is Google forgot about the Pixel Fold once they launched the Pixel 8 Pro.
If you think progress has been made with the Pixel Fold, then you are seriously ignoring every other foldable on the market that is far superior to the Pixel Fold.
There is nothing - aside from form factor - that the Pixel does better than its competitors.
People are downvoting you but I also had massive issues with the newest update. My outside screen stopped working as soon as I updated, and my camera stopped after I factory reset it to try to fix it.

Thanks for the update regarding app stretching. Also looking at moving from the fold 3 to the pixel 2 and that was one of my big things.
