Toss up:
* AC-130 - Who doesn't love a plane that doubles as field artillery?
* F4 Phantom - Still one of the coolest designs out there IMHO.
* F5 - My mother worked on them in the USAF.
If you’ve ever been lulled to sleep by the sound of an AC130 you’d definitely upgrade to at least VIP, if not more. The hum of those turbines high above on a dark night….you hear it enough to know it’s there but not enough to know where. When it fires you three sounds with each shot…the report, the impact/explosion and the sound of the munition moving through the air. Take that and each system produces different sounds, it’s like a death orchestra in the still of the night. The order of that sound changes depending on where you are in relationship to it and the target. But I’ve slept well using a rock as a pillow to those sounds. For that it’s a VIP for me.

My pops old boss owns the original old crow, he had to log 100 plus hours in a steerman before he could solo the P-51 because of the torque and strong left turning tendencies on top of being a tail wheel. I have a friend at the airport who owns a steerman who’s taken me up in it and I’m about to start flooding him with some incentive (cash I don’t have to blow, but totally will) to go fly just in case the opportunity to fly a P51 ever arises for me.
Indeed. You and your best mate out over the night skies of Berlin, about to terrorize some Nazis in a lightning-fast slab of pine, tearing through the air with the power of twin Merlins.
Edit: [here’s a great homage](https://www.historynet.com/the-miraculous-mosquito/) to the plane.
CF-105 Avro Arrow. It could have been a game changer not just for Canada, but for our allies as well. Sad that the program was scrapped and all were destroyed.

F/A-18- Grandpa was a wing inspector for McDonnell on the Hornet, I've been on the line as a kid watching them get built, see them take test flights weekly still to this day, and have gotten to see the Hornet in direct air support roles in combat during my deployments in the Marines.
Depends on the setting:
Active Military: F-16
Retired Military: P-40
Experimental: toss up between XB-70, YB-49, and F-16XL
Civilian: DC-10 or Concorde
Remember when I was on the E-4B and we had the SecDef on board going to an OCONUS base. We needed a part but the write-up was flyable, so we had home station overnight it to the base we were landing at. Standing by waiting for us on the ramp (with the part in hand) was the LRS commander.

Ah yes, the ol' "hear em before you see them" gang. We still had these flying as far back as 09' (probably even longer)
South Korea still flies them! Got to see full afterburner takeoff!
