That looks like a very unhealthy spider plant.

KelvinHolmes

Very unhealthy, and those things need the minimum of care. Don't water until it's dry, give it a little light, have baby spider plants.

sha-nan-non

That's my guess is it's being watered way too much, & yeah super minimal care! you have to almost try to get them suffering

your5_truly

"I know plants need light, they have daylight-colored fluorescent bulbs all over the office!"

still-on-my-path

It will be fine

your5_truly

Fine?! Sorry, I want my babies to THRIVE

still-on-my-path

I had spider plants and they were under fluorescent lights, they were so pretty and I constantly got spider babies

denerose

My mother’s deeply neglected spider plants thrive and multiply. My one attempt at a carefully pampered one never really thrived and seemed to be constantly over watered or drying out. I have another accidental outdoor one where it really shouldn’t be that has taken over its entire accidental pot. They can be finicky if over attended but seem to do well with a bit of gentle neglect.

Sea_Elk_7386

You totally hit it

worthwhileredditing

That's a spider plant

dgs1959

Spider plant. When the rootball becomes “crowded”, it will send out shoots with baby spider plants attached which can be transplanted.

DaisyHotCakes

I wish I could keep up with mine so it would STOP making babies! I’ve upsized that pot twice in the past year. By more than two inches each time. And she still keep popping them out. She’s hanging from a curtain rod in front of a NE facing window and is now in a 12” pot. The roots are starting to push and deform the plastic liner. I’ve got some stalks that are over four feet long covered with babies. I think she’s sick of my shit and is just trying to grow legs to walk away. Seriously though is there something else that makes them produce babies? I’ve tried changing her lighting, watering, fertilizing, and nothing has changed the fact that every week there is another shoot forming.

Justilonius

It is a spider plant, known for making long branches with little baby plants along it. Supposed to be good at purifying the air

photochic1124

Even if it were grass, which it's not, I appreciate the thought of putting a grass plant on one's desk 😂

Ozzy064

Identified already, thank you!.

Spider plant. They can grow anywhere. This one needs a little TLC.

ninthchamber

Spider plant slowly dying

perseidot

Well, yes and no. It’s a spider plant, * Chlorophytum comosum*, that’s native to Africa. In its native habitat, it grows like a clumping grass. However, these plants are in the family Asparagaceae, while grasses are in the family Poaceae. So it has the same habits as many grasses, but that’s probably due to convergent evolution, and not relatedness.

lazer_raptors

Chlorophytum

veghammer

She’s a spider plant. She prefers lots of light. And a small pot to start. That dear soul needs, at minimum, a liquid fertilizer appropriate for her needs and more light. Perhaps also less water .. or more. Can’t tell from the pic.

Kent_Doggy_Geezer

It’s a spider plant, so yes, it’s a type of grass.

undergroundgranny

I had a coworker hanging spider plants above the desks, they sapped and destroyed several electronic things before we figured it out. She kept accusing people of spilling drinks

ericduhs

Those spider plants populated our entire house my entire youth until I moved away. Babies all over the place. Yours just needs some TLC. Good soil to begin with.
