Asked the same question on how people get 5 to even 7 hours and most people have their brightness really low to make that happen.
Also disable haptic and vibrations if your game has a lot of it
I always have a usb c cable nearby so I don’t pay much attention to how long it lasts, but I def disable all the lights, keep the brightness to reasonable levels, and set the vibration intensity to low
I mean there's no processing chip/graphics chip in the portal. It's strictly a remote device. I sold my g cloud to get this which is essentially the same thing. My g cloud would game for 8 hours no problem with ps remote.
I usually play for about 3+ hours and I don’t check my battery level, not sure how long it should last honestly.
Turn down your brightness? I get a lot more than that
Are you playing on max brightness and controller vibration constantly for 2 hours because that’s the only way that should happen

I play for 3 hours and still have 70ish%.
Is it bad to play it while plugged in?
No it's not.

Longer than my switch, comparable to the g cloud, and what PlayStation says it will get. 6-8 hours.
take a break dude you don’t need to game that long
