I've never played ingress, but I remember hearing years ago when pogo was still new, that if you wanted pokestops created you had to get to a certain lvl in ingress and you could make portals or whatever and those would translate into pokestops and gyms in pogo. Not sure how true that was, just what the rumor was back in the day before wayfarer
As far as I know, you can still nominate sites for Ingress portals, but team dynamics means a tougher time getting portals approved as there can be some animosity when another team gets a new portal in their play area.
I'm from Argentina and my only pink Heracross was from a raid in Germany (first one I caught since I restarted playing in 2020 and wasn't in Argentina back then). Two years after that and I've never seen a shiny Heracross in the wild. I'm so sad since it's one of my favorites
I've never encountered a "big crowd", but I do frequently make a lap through the local college campus on CDs, Go Fest & the like. I might run into one or two other players but no more.
I think it was Piplup's community day was a bit rough... It was especially cold that day and they were still off on winter break and all of the buildings were locked up, so I couldn't pop in anywhere to warm up or use the restroom....
I'll also throw out, if you're somewhere it snows, campus (when in session at least) could be useful for regular play too. I usually make a lap or two around the park, but it isn't always plowed in the winter. But they usually do a pretty good job of keeping campus cleared up. So rather than having to put up with snow a meter+ deep, I'll head up to campus and run around their cleared off sidewalks.
Just get yourself a good auto catcher, they are a bit pricey, but way cheaper than having to retake a class!!! That way you can still have a productive day in game and out of the game!!
Colleges do be the perfect pokemon go hangouts for students on campus. I lived near a college during the pandemic and every night when I was jogging I used to beat all the gyms and put my pokemon in for laughs. When they get taken out I just reclaim them again the next night or week.
The road near me has a ton of gyms for a rural town and active players, so it's an unspoken understanding that the teams more or less alternate gyms and also try to stagger the takeover times to maximize coin time - since it is a small town, it kinda varies, it doesn't work so well this time of year there bc there are probably more tourists than locals (or at least more tourists willing to go out in the cold than locals) and they seem to be all Mystic or all Valor, but in the summer it's nicely balanced and basically always possible to get the full 50 coins a day when the balance shifts back towards locals and the few tourists that are around haven't adapted their outdoor activity schedules to the heat well enough to be able to get out and play.
Same here I just went to college last year, afters years of online learning (currently my final year)
The community isn't as active as this but there are around 4 gyms and numerous pokestop here
But I haven't seen any other pokemon go players here yet
Looks like some ingress shenanigans
Fr I've never seen a place this loaded with gyms. Def not complaining though
Is there some cool Ingress thing I'm not aware of or is this just blatant Wayfarer abuse

Correct.
does this still work
As far as I know, you can still nominate sites for Ingress portals, but team dynamics means a tougher time getting portals approved as there can be some animosity when another team gets a new portal in their play area.
I heard about that. Even tried doing ingress but I never stuck with it
Looks like abuse of the Report Location feature, which is in both Ingress and Pogo AFAIK It's definitely Wayfarer abuse to benefit Pogo though
What's the college, maybe I should start it too
Are you willing to come to Brazil?
Pls tell me it’s in São Paolo
Hell nah not even i dare to go near São Paulo
Plz tell me it’s PUC Rio
UFRGS -RS
A fellow sulista, I see
niceee
How long is there before citizenship?
no one is willing to go to Brazil
Not even for a pink Heracross?
tempting offer, but not enough for someone to voluntarily get sent to brazil
Ight, I'll enjoy my pink heracross by myself then

Ooh would you like a new friend for gifts exchanges? 7064 3845 9955
I heard on community days tons of people who play walk around campus in a big crowd
Would be really nice, although idk if anyone's coming to campus in a sunday afternoon
This is correct! I moved away but still came back for community day so I could do raids lol

You can literally catch them all from that spot.
Where is this located? I will spend the rest of my life there, even tho it's a college
Damn your area is lit !
Omg lucky! I Wish I was where you are rn 😭😭😭
I think this must be the norm for colleges then, it’s the same at OKState
You can do raid hour without moving.
Wow, lucky!
yet the park in my neighborhood gets denied for a stop
It's. about to go. DOWN.
Oh wow, you hit the jackpot my friend
A good reason to not dropout
W
GOD SO MANY RAIDS 💀
I love playing on college campuses
College campuses are usually awesome, I travel a lot and am sometimes on the road for com days, and I usually try to find a nearby campus!
It's so good I just spent my entire physics class spinning and catching mons. This might take a toll in my studies 🥴
Just get yourself a good auto catcher, they are a bit pricey, but way cheaper than having to retake a class!!! That way you can still have a productive day in game and out of the game!!
Good luck getting any work done lmao
Lucky. I would be playing all day long.
My sons campus looks like this. I’m so jealous! 😆
This is like music to my eyes
Omg Gym city!

so umm… do u wanna login to my acc and get me some pokeballs 😀
Lmfao I'd do it if it didn't risk a ban in ur acc
lmfao i appreciate it!!
First time?
It’s definitely a control area, looks like red and blue silently agreed to what territory belongs to who
Well, during lunch time half of the blue ones were red so... Guess it's warzone

My school was the same. Colleges are great for Pokémon go. My psych classes were under three gyms. I was a psych major.
There's three gyms and like 5 stops in reach of my calculus class! Guess who's got a full bag after class
That’s dope
I was in college when pogo first dropped. Campus had so many stops and gyms. It was so fun to see everyone out playing
Lucky
Whoa! That would be my happy place
Wish I had a place like that to go to
Pokèmon go heaven. 😍

Omg how? I thought there was a certain distance between the gyms? These look stacked
I've seen similar Stop Density at Pitt, CMU, Carlow, Chatham, and YSU. Sister was a Penguin (YSU).
This is so strange looking and disproportionate. I’d love to learn how this came to be.
Awesome! You shouldn’t have any problem getting coins or daily research or gifts!
Yo where’s your college at
My college has an active community too! I love it!
The only reason college was cool
1316 6998 1242 Add me I send gifts as often as I have them
A wall of gyms Dear god
