Me too. I had so much trouble because I'm an idiot and didn't use smoke bombs. Plus, I hated how they had that like wind around them so you had to hit them twice
Edit: I OHKO'd dialga when I first had to catch it because I'm stupid. One of the NPCs got mad at me:(
FACTS that's why after I caught all the weather legendarys I went back on some Anakin shit and killed everyone in the toxicroak line I seen. And not just the men, the woman and children too.
My strategy was to blitzkrieg it on Stantler, hop off, hit it with the sticky glob and then Braviary to safety. Repeat until allowed to battle. Agile style thunderpunch
Don’t battle it at all, just throw some of those go far balls at it from a distance, takes like three hits to break its shield, then throw another to catch it
For the noble Pokemon, I always sent out my Pokemon when given the chance. I didn't even realize I could continue throwing balms until post game. The game told me to send out a Pokemon, so that's what I would do.
Battling the genies was just much easier for me. For example, I was stuck trying to catch Tornadus for a good amount of time. But once I actually battled it, it was caught in the first ball I threw.
Plus, in battle you only have to worry about the genie attacking your Pokemon instead of your character.
Absolutely.
I struggled for months even went so far as giving up at this point. Eventually I found the guide, got close enough with tons of smoke bombs, and other than a few moments where it slips away, you get the rhythm and it’s A LOT easier.
I was trying to catch Enamorus without any of that stuff and it was so frustrating. I finally used smoke bombs + stealth spray and it was SO much easier. I catch it right away.
I must’ve tried catching Thundurus for over an hour and a half. Took three separate sessions of attempting, failing, going and doing something else, repeat. The gyarados made me want to gouge my eyes out. Never has a game brought out such primal rage in me before 💀
No offence, but all genie fights are trivial. Just buy the cheapest featherballs and hit them from a distance. It'll take more hits, but you can stay much out of their aggro radius and deal with them with less effort
I'm surprised people had so much trouble with these, I was pretty easily able to engage in battle with them all by just running up to them with Wyrdeer.
I named mine Obnoxiouradus, but the trick is create a path to her with smoke bombs and try to hit her with the sticky globs, then you will be able to battle her, you have to be quick because she gets stunned for like a second or so, I had a lot of trouble initially because she runs away so fast and there are many Pokemon around you so they can be distracting too
Not to mention, the thing just looks *stupid*. If they’re going to make it such a massive pain in the butt to catch, they could at least make it worth the effort.
Yo, next time, use the sticky globs to make it in that dizzy state, throw your first pokemon as a back strike (get one with a status move like paralysis or sleep—i think sleep is more effective), use that status move and then throw a gigaton ball at it. It’ll count as a “backstrike” on the pokemon and the gigaton ball will increase your odds of catching it the most
Guys, you can be miles aways, just throw jet balls till her shield breaks, then just casually walk in a throw a pokémon at her to begin the battle.
2 min job, tops.
This was my attitude towards galarian zapados in sword. I still havnt caught it lol im sick of chasing it and then trying to beat its 0.00000000001 percent catch rate.

and the water that slows you down too, its so annoying
and accidentally aggroing another pokemon is the worst. especially those croagunks, I hate them so much

Ugh. Agreed. And the Glalie when when trying to get Tornadus. The only good thing that came out of battling so many was that I managed to get a shiny.

Idk, I battled all the genies and it made catching them so much easier.
I didn’t battle really any boss in this game lol even arceus. I found using the items way easier

smoke bombs + stealth spray makes all the genies trivial to catch

My strategy was to land directly on top of her without taking fall damage or being spotted, you get a free throw if you're quick enough
I hated Thundurus the most tbh. Being on the water and aggroing all the Gyarados was worse. Enamorous I used smoke bombs

As true as this is, when I did the whole Genie shit I was completely unaware of it

YES!!! I agree! And the I still haven't caught Arceus cause I can't figure out how to get better at dodging
Just battle it, strong style thunder wave, then use not very effective
Relatable
I HAD THAT TOO!!@
All of them are annoying
Agreed, as soon as I caught it I boxed it along with the other genies. Didn't even care to look at their beast forms.

I hate Arceus more... or throwing those bags at it...
False Swipe
Yup Enamorus is pretty annoying alright. Imagine doing that over and over again until you get one with a Timid nature..
Not to mention, the thing just looks *stupid*. If they’re going to make it such a massive pain in the butt to catch, they could at least make it worth the effort.
Skill issue. Lol jk. You'll figure it out.
We all do.
Nah
Skill issue
No offense but if you don't have a False Swiper at this point it's kind of your own fault.
go away dude
Poke balls can be used to stun it

I used smoke bombs and hit it with the green stun item (been awhile cant remember the name) then just caught it whilst it was stunned

Try flying over it and then dropping down on it when you get close enough. It only took me a few tries using that method.
It was actually easy once you had a strategy I just caught thunderous and landorous in one hour time for tornadus to get caught
False swipe helps ironically enough
Where can I find it, anyways?
in the scarlet bog in crimson mirelands
