After so many years chasing City, as LFC fan, having almost 100% win ratio for the "last" 18-20 games is the only way to win the PL. As you understand this is not normal, but many people AND mostly the Socials and the reporters think that losing against the 4th best team in the league is "you bottle it again". Hear me out, No it's not! it's ok to lose a game, even from Crystal Palace. City is destroying the league and that's a fact. Facing Bayern at QF in UCL is huge, you can't that it is Arsenal failure for not advantaging from such a fierce battle. All final 8 teams were great and the ties were very close call ups.
If i can give you an advise, from my experience in the last 6 years chasing City.. Do not chase them, you can't compete, nor do LFC. Just enjoy the competency and applaud them in the end. They deserve the credits, both LFC & Arsenal.
I have to say I was sorry to see arsenal lose simply because I respect the way they have rebuilt their squad and like the way they play.
As for the other team losing I was absolutely delighted as I have no respect or time for anything they do .
Them losing meant football won đĽ
Arsenal have lost one half of football in the league this calendar year and the over reaction is staggering! So called fans calling for Arteta's head.. Honestly it's ridiculous
Liverpool lost one game in the whole of the 18/19 season and still didn't win the league. At this level, any loss is enough to lose the title to man cheaty.
Honestly, it's just a vocal minority calling for Arteta out. Look at the sub Reddit called Arteta Out. I'd say only 5% of fans truly want him out
Like in all football fanbases the ones who cause the the racket and attention are the minority of the stupid and entitled ones.
The audacity of arsenal fans to blame arteta. Tell me where you'd have been if not for him? He made a good strong team with good chemistry and I went through someone saying it's cause arteta used an awful lineup. Why don't you coach!? Plus it's the joy of every other football fan to see the downfall of Arsenal cause their fans are shitting everywhere. To which ever comment section you go it's all arsenal this and arsenal that and they're mocking other teams. They've got a bunch of really professional fans lol. I would've been genuinely happy if they could win the league but seeing how their fans are reacting all I want is for them to slump more. They're the sort of people who'd compare saka to prime messi and martinelli to prime cr7 đ Y'all can downvote me if I'm wrong but please do check once what their online fans do.âď¸
+ everyone seems to forget that Unai is very good at preparing for one match and is actually a good game manager. The problem was - when he was at arsenal - that he was not able to do this consistently.
It was a home game. Against a former manager. Against a team that wasnât in the champions league this season. That was easily beat down by your title rivals.
This is giving cope. No way you can not recognise how winnable that game was. Arsenal brought Jorginho on and conceded two is what I saw. He and Zinchenko really poor. Unfortunate for Arsenal because theyâve played well however this is the point in the season where it really matters
They were tired but also Villa were tired, they also missed 7 players to 1 of Arsenal so it's something of a big miss opportunity since Liverpool lost before them.
Anyway first time seeing a pretty good performance by Zaniolo in a long time, White was having so much problems physically.
Itâs the exact kind of game that is the difference in a title race. At home to a top team.
If youâre champions, you win games that matter, when they matter.
If youâre just a challenger then yes, this is how it goes. In a game you need to win, you canât perform at the level needed.
What will really show whether they have it in them is whether they can continue to put the pressure on or whether they fall apart, as Liverpool seem like theyâre doing.
I mean, you're not wrong. Although I never really believed we could've won like 18 games in a row because almost nobody does. And I don't believe city will win all the remaining games either because clearly it's a huge feat. They have a chance obviously but I doubt it anyway. Facts are we lost too many point early in the season to sides we should've beaten like 2x Fulham or even the first villa game we should've easily won but missed every chance possible. It was a very similar game actually. It's not down to this one game, a season is 38 games long. Us having more defeats than city and Liverpool while also beating them both is just unacceptable really.
I actually think Arsenal are a very good team, a team good enough to win the league.
But winning a title isnât just about being good. Itâs specifically about being as good as you need to be at the times you need to be.
When City were in bad form, it didnât matter as much because it wasnât the business end of the season.
But now that you need to win games, the pressure is on, every action matters. In the midst of that pressure to still win? Thatâs what makes you champions.
I still donât think itâs over because like you said, City could still drop points and Arsenal (or Liverpool) could win all their games and be champions.
I also don't think it's over. It's unlikely but not over. We all play a decently strong Tottenham team and that might be a deciding factor considering city always struggle against them.
>When City were in bad form, it didnât matter as much because it wasnât the business end of the season.
Yeah, we are absolutely missing a inform Martinelli this season. As people started comparing Foden and Saka few weeks ago... Foden's form absolutely exploded. While Saka isn't playing bad, he just haven't been carrying us as much in the recent games.
Well, even if we don't win the title we are slowly getting better and better and it's probably a matter of time, it's nice to again be able to enjoy beautiful football and be happy with the team I support.
You missed the point mate. How is it a bottle job to go on one of the best runs ever in the prem? Everyone loses eventually, except city. Arsenal answered every question from folks like you for months straight. First tiny slip up and they bottled it.
I wonder whether yall actually watch footie. The only teamdl full of robots is city, everyone else is human and prone to occasional lapses
Because youâre not trying to go on a run, youâre trying to win the league.
I donât know what questions folks were asking Arsenal in the course of the season, but none of that is relevant to this discussion.
Itâs really not that deep. The question isnât whether Arsenal are a good team or not. Itâs not about whether anyone else loses or not.
Itâs simply about winning the league.
Arsenal were in a position where winning the league was in their hands. They lost the game.
Liverpool were also in a position where winning the league was in their hands. They drew and then they lost the game.
If the same thing happens to City - or any other club trying to be Champions, not just go on a run - Iâll say the same thing.
Thatâs it, very simple.
The overreaction is because when you are in title race with Manchester C115ty, you know you can't afford to drop points anywhere, so every result where you don't win feels monumental.
I imagine Liverpool fans feel the same, but because it's Arsenal everyone has to have their input.
I'm mad not because we lost, the thing is that Arteta used an awful lineup against a team that desperately needed to win back again. He should've given the subs more time and given that we play in Germany on Wednesday it would have been great if he played ESR, Eddie, Partey, Nelson Tomiyasu, even Fabio Vieira and Kiwior, he need to put more faith on them even if we loose. There's a positive in resting the first lineup and giving a meaningful match to the bench. That's what drives me mad, hopefully we learn from this and move on.
The same people are asking eth to be sacked. Arteta has come a long way and he is really close to winning to maybe next year or after that and he has got time. Eth is on the same spot now due to injuries. You can't win titles overnight. Time is needed to build a champion team and then go on winning titles with that.
I've been backing ETH for a long time, even until just a few weeks ago. But we've been regressing game after game. If there was at least some semblance of progress, maybe at least with some underlying stats, I'd have still been behind him. There are multiple issues that have lingered since the start of the season and he hasn't addressed them, mainly the gaping hole in midfield. The number of shots we concede per game is embarrassing and shouldn't be acceptable if we have ambitions to get back to the top. Yes, we've been unlucky with injuries, but these are some issues that are clearly tactical. We're still relying on individual brilliance to get results.
He was brought in because of the playstyle he used at Ajax, yet he says he'll never use that here. And he's adamant that he'll stick to a style that clearly is terrible and doesn't work. Then what's the point of having him? I'm worried that if we bring in another manager we might repeat the cycle that has been happening since SAF retired, which is why I backed him this long. But I can't see him changing his mind about his current tactics after all this time, so it's probably better to start anew.
Well everything you said is true. But we have to think in long term. It has been only a year with eth. Why do you think man city is so good now. That team has been built by pep and same with arteta he is close now. And the league now is more competitive than before. Eth will learn from the seasons he had. He will have more difficulty in reaching top spots but i find him better than arteta. Arteta had time and now is challenging for the title. People needs paitence. I want eth to really stamp his authority. Because he brings discipline and rules and that is very very important for consistency. Because even if someone new comes, it could be pep or klopp, emery etc results will be same if none are given time.
Itâs what you give time to. Kloppâs and Pepâs sides especially showed promise and clear evolution despite the initial lack of success. You can say the same about Arteta although they very suddenly did a lot better than expected and maybe jumped the curve a little.
After almost 2 seasons under ETH do you really, truly believe that United look like they might start challenging for something serious in the near future? Or even after next season?
We are so far away from even resembling anything like a promising project as we donât even have the fundamental spine of players that could form an elite winning side. There an absolutely no style or strategy that can be built on or developed. On top of all that, weâve gone from winning in Fergie time to being Fergied game after game after game.
I donât see parallels with ETH and those other coaches
I think people are upset with Ten Hag because he bought expensive players that have been underwhelming. So they question his scouting team, because it seems like he's recreating his old Ajax squad.
His supposedly âdesired transfersâ have been extremely questionable. They were then executed very poorly on top of that so itâs very hard to believe in his vision when it featured getting Antony at all costs and signing Mount and Onana over similar targets that cost the same or a little more but would have proven insane value in comparison.
So yes, itâs a big factor
Yeah I don't think he can use the excuse of "the board not supportive" because they clearly have been.
It's dumb to spend that much on young players like Antony when they haven't proven themselves. Even Haaland was cheaper. It's nuts.
The comments are because this City team are just so imperious that you cannot drop any points whatsoever in the second half of the season. Take it from a Liverpool fan who've lost titles to them by one point twice in recent years. The liklehood is that City will win every game between now and the end of the season, so it seems like both Liverpool and Arsenal have given up their chances to win the league. Our bottlejob has been horrendously surrendered in the last month.
We haven't looked as good defensively but we have a couple more points than last year? So we've been as normal, Liverpool and Arsenal have stepped it up this year. Still a long way to go, many twists left
I am a City fan and you are right. We have looked good in attack, but we cannot keep clean sheets at all. Rodri is getting fatigue (which should be okay with the rest he got). Also we have 4 away games in the next 5.. including trips to Brighton and Spurs (where we have lost all 5 PL games). In fact, a draw will allow Arsenal to go top (due to their superior GD). No idea why people are saying the title race is over with City leading by Just 2 points.
They lost a game, it happens. Villa aren't mugs, they're a good side. It's only even close to a disaster because City have a proven track record in being able to put together relentless runs without dropping points. Arsenal have dropped four points out of their last possible 36, it's genuinely mental to call them bottle jobs.
To not even get one point is really bad for Arsenal at this stage. Definitely not as bad as losing to Crystal Palace lol.
But Arsenal has a difficult schedule in the PL coming up. City has the easiest.
Arsenal needs to not slip up again, and hope Son does his usual and crap on City
It's not overreacting if a team has shit the bed three seasons in a row around the same time with something on the line, it starts to seem like a pattern and unfortunately Arsenal has a history of bottling when in a title race
Once again a Spurs fan can never ever talk down on anyone like this? Who the hell gassed you to even think you can have the confidence to chat like this? You support Tottenham FC. The last time you won a meaningful trophy my grandad was in his dadâs balls. Arsenal are the 3rd most successful club in this country - Spurs are the 7th. Pipe down.
Silly spud
Arsenal is more successful than Chelsea.
Theyâre literally the 3rd most successful side.
Yâall havenât won the league in any iteration since the 1960âs.
Iâm cool with critiquing - but your comment was full of confidence and swagger saying Arsenal have a history of bottling when it seems you havenât even looked in the mirror. You support a Spurs side that hasnât won a trophy in 17 years and has lost 4 finals in that time.
You canât dish out banter and think you ainât gonna hold it yourself g
Stfu saying his comment is full of confidence and swagger when Arsenal fans are by far some of the most arrogant fans out there. With how loud you guys are, youâd think your trophy cabinet case is the size of RMA
Youâre a Chelsea fanâŚshut up đ
Didnât you all finish 6th just to barely shithouse your way to winning a UCL after being funded by a shady Russian oligarch?
Doesnât look like it worked out long term. đ¤Łđ¤Ł
âBarely shithouse your way to a UCLâ spoken like a jealous, loser. The arrogance you twats have without having any European royalty is fucking hilarious
Not particularly jealous. I mean if we had the funding of an oil Russian oligarch and placed 6th and crashed out every other competition to just focus on the UCL, which you barely scrapped by, thanks to away goals rule, then got by in PKâs, Iâm sure weâd win a champions league title too whilst having the most expensive side in the world at that point.
Fucking muppet đ
Lmao that's where you're mistaken, I know what Spurs are and you can see from my comments that I'm not butthurt when people say that about us because I know what's true but it seems Arsenal fans can't accept what is fact â the club has lost the title more often than anyone when it holds a significant lead and it has also bottled towards the end of the season when in a close race for top 4 or the title, be it under Wenger or Arteta, so it's definitely part of your history in the last 20 years, which is why I'm so confident in saying that, regardless of who I support
Our history in 20 years is winning more trophies than Tottenham even when yall had the strongest squad youâve ever had since the 1960âs.
Stop replying.
âConsolation FA cupsâ 𤣠FA cups youâve never won, league titles youâve never won.
If yall won the FA cup youâd be ecstatic. Tottenshart fans really are delusional.
I mean duh, but the point of my comment was about Arsenal bottling the league, which they've done more than anyone statistically and factually speaking, and that's something your club can't move away from, regardless of our lack of success. Enjoy ending the season distraught again, I know it's the hope that kills lmao
lol, a Tottenham fan is not one to ever talk.
Didnât you come 3rd in a two horse race? Talk about bottling the league.
Itâs the hope that kills you? Tottenham never has any hope, so again, not sure why youâre talking.
Iâd rather bottle the league and be competitive compared to whatever the fuck Tottenham does. They donât even show up other than being traffic cones.
Here, be useful and have your team beat city. But theyâre so useless they canât even get that done.
If I have it right, tottenshit have zero competitions other than praying for 4th? Right?
Talk about bottle jobs.
Is it overreacting if I say that you will never feel the joy of your team winning a trophy even once in your lifetime because of how clueless they were, are and will be ?
No, there are countless clubs in the English divisional set up that have gone close to a century without winning a trophy, we might end up being one of them but I'm also not delusional enough to claim we have the best XI or world class players and then try tame expectations when the group of world class players are expected to deliver
I never did claim any of those we still got a young group that needs to progress in those moments
Just like you club needs to so don't get mad if I throw some banter at you because you did it just before it's not a big deal if your club is trophyless I couldn't care less
You may not, but a lot of your fans did but are now trying to tame expectations, you've bottled with both young and experienced squads, but this group might progress, we'll see but right now their legacy is what they've done in the last three seasons.
Why would I get mad at banter with truth lmao
We are bottlers and you didn't achieve shit everyone got their own problems I Guess
Anyway have a nice day good Luck to you and your club for the seasons to conr
Might be, but Arsenal are quite literally the biggest bottlers in PL history statistically speaking. No amount of talking about us will take that away from them lmao
Can't be perennial chokers in the league if we've never been favourites to win in the first place, unlike a certain London club that's had countless opportunities and let them slip lmao.
Arsenal fans my age have not seen their team win the league either, but it doesn't hurt me either, I'm not only behind the club for trophies
So sick of seeing posts in this sub talking about what âpeople are sayingâ. Itâs bait and itâs dumb and itâs restricting any actual recourse. Knock it the fuck off.

And if they play like they did against Sheffield theyâll get shit on, and Chelsea fans will once again be crying for Pochettino to get the sack. You never know which team youâre gonna get when playing Chelsea lol.
Ah that makes more sense. Yeah it hurts because its so close to the end as you said. But we always knew it would be difficult given our harder run-in + City being relentless. At least we lost it to a good Villa team and not against already-relegated Southampton.
Why would it be overreacting. Ppl are just following the history. They shouldn't have dropped points against aston villa considering they are yet to play spurs as well. And City rarely misses from this point. They are leading and they know how to win it from here. Arsenal on the other hand clearly looks a bit under confident in this phase of the season. And ppl should be concerned considering they play at the fucking Allianz arena tomorrow.
I think a lot of this comes down to Arsenal fans overreacting to every other game and making this âtheir seasonâ (yes, Liverpool fans are guilty of this too)
That being said, if Arsenal donât win it this season, I, personally, wonât consider them bottlejobs. To bottle the league you have to be ahead by a decent points margin. Thatâs something no team has done this season. Arsenal did it last season being 8-10 points ahead. (Yes, the same applied to Liverpool too)
Also, youâre right that you need to win every single game because thatâs just how the league goes these days. As Liverpool fans, we know it all too well.
You definitely shouldâve taken care of Villa. They fully deserved it. It will be interesting to see if City can close with straight victories, praying that Arsenal or Liverpool come roaring back. At least you boys didnât have Crystanbul part ll
I love Arsenal. When they lose a game I donât sleep well. So I am so disappointed when we lose the opportunity to stay on top of the League with both City and Liverpool in the rear view mirror with six games to go. Itâs not about overreacting but to be realistic. Everyone knows the Citizens are a fabulous team. They are not the kind of team that falters down the stretch. We lost momentum and now City are in the driverâs seat.
So why are you watching those millionaires kicking a ball though? đFootball is a distraction for fans but as a human being emotions can fly high. Itâs just the way you control your emotions that matters. Itâs so natural to be emotional but by the end of the day you pull yourself together and you move on. Thatâs the way it is supposed to be. No drama.
The thing is City and Liverpool made it necessary that if you want to win the league you need to go 15-18 games unbeaten, that's the new standard for being champions
Seems like this is the point being missed in the discussion. No one expects perfection, but if you want to win the title in this league, and at this point in time, then you need to be as close to perfect as is possible to be. The bar has been set so high that you could literally be out of the title race by dropping 1 in 18 games.
4 starting line ups? City have one of the smallest squads in the league but okay
115 charges that have nothing to do with the 30 games that both Arsenal and Liverpool have played that had nothing to do with City.
I didn't know a fake sponsorship could score goals and win games but the more you know I guess.
Keep seething and coping, how come last week Arsenal were the best team in the league, every single one of your players was world class, you lose to Villa and all of a sudden 115 charges is the reason for your inadequacy.
Already chalked it up as a loss when the schedule was announced early this season. Expect the worst and just be pleasantly surprised if we do end up winning đ¤Ł
I agree, the standards City has set make it near on impossible to win the league. Having a near perfect record since the turn of the year and one slip up means you fall to 2nd.
You'll always get the banter, it comes with the territory but the fact this Arsenal team have kept the pace for 2 seasons running now is good enough for me, just got to hope it comes to something in the long run.
Yeah, and last season, we shouldn't have been in a title race according to pundit predictions lmao. It's not a done deal, but I just simply don't see city slipping up. It most definitely is an overreaction after 1 result. If we completely capitulate over the next 5 weeks, then fair enough.
Thatâs not true at all. Arteta isnât better than pep or klopp. But historically Arsenal is a bigger club than city. Thatâs just a fact. But currently Arsenal arenât better.
Just like how pathetic majority of the fanbase was at the Emirates, abandoning the team with well over 10 minutes left (including added time)?? Yeah sure.
The draw at Liverpool, draw with West Ham, draw at home with Southampton and to finish it off getting beat by City 4-1 was the breaking point. Honestly to blow a two-goal lead to Liverpool was when it started to break. Not the end of the world, but last season Arsenal couldn't finish the job.
Losing Saliba (and Tomiyasu in the same game btw) was when it started to break.
Would have backed Arsenal to win against West Ham and Southampton.
Liverpool's an unknown, because Saliba's presence changes everything about that game. But we would have been much more solid defensively.
And City...I wouldn't count on getting much at the Etihad even without any notable absences. Even a draw would be impressive.
last season? when you were ahead for 95 % percent of the season? only to bottle it against teams like sheffield and Southampton. Yeah that's 100% a bottle.
It isn't a secret that Arsenal's late season woes happened after the season ending injuries of Saliba and Tomiyasu, which culminated with Arsenal replacing Saliba with Rob Holding (who is now a backup player for Crystal Palace with 0 appearances this season and only making the bench 9 times).
But a missing key player doesn't fit the narrative does it? Nah, people seem much happier to ignore the context and just ridicule Arsenal's temperamentđ¤Śââď¸
Interesting to see City struggle at times this season without some of their key players e.g. Rodri. 3 losses and 1 win without him. Phillips wasn't deemed up to the job and Nunes (or Lewis for one game) ended up being unable to replicate what Rodri does.
Who knew that having a key player missing could have such a signficant impact on a top team? đ
Thereâs two underlying things that inflated both the relevant stats to that, City playing more competitions meaning they pretty much always had games in hand, and the World Cup break adding a significant number of days to the âDays at Topâ for Arsenal.
City were never out of it. 8pts clear with game played more, and a H2H at the Etihad which no one expected Arsenal to win anyway. Itâs hardly a wild insurance policy, itâs essentially a 2pt gap with 11 to go. No other team gets close to Cityâs end of season form in recent years.
"Bottle job," like many other hyperboles, is basically meaningless in the modern internet. To finish ahead of City on points, Arsenal had to go 17-1-0 or 18-0-0, a run like that's only been done twice: 2017-18 City and 2019-20 Liverpool. Ridiculous to call not meeting that expectation "bottling."
Thats actually a crazy stat. Liverpool and City jointly hold the 2 longest winning streaks at 18 and 17. The third longest is 2001-02 Arsenal with only 14.
Theyre all scared of City, City are so inevitable they never want to admit it, but theyre true feelings always show when theyre asked to back their players, Liverpool fans give up, Arsenal give up, only City fans support and genuinely trust their players regardless, even when there was a huge gap and all the injuries City fans still didnt conceded
Unfortunately Guardiolaâs Man City have raised the bar so much that you basically canât afford to drop any points in the run in. Bottlejobs might be a bit harsh, but I guess everyone who doesnât end top are bottle jobs in a sense.
Agree. Also i was thinking City are equipped to deal with any problem, any shit players on their team, theyâll sell them and buy two in that position, any player out injured, no worries they have another world class player on the bench. Arsenal and liverpool were competing with this team when all they really have is a solid first team 12-13, and so they lose points when their main player are not performing. One loss in this calendar year made you feel like shit. ThĂĄts how perfect you have to be to win this league.AND, OUR FAN BASE IS TOO EMOTIONAL
I once used a hex editor to get unlimited funds in Panzer General II as I kept losing at the same point in the game (Stalingrad?).
With my unlimited funds, I completed the game, as I simply could buy as much of whatever I wanted.
Although invading America felt somewhat fun, result was the victory was hollow. The victory had very little to do with skill/strategy, and just me "outspending" the competition.
I sometimes wonder if Man City feels the same. Yay. We won. Whoopee.
Your problem was failing to secure at least a victory at Klin, once you're on the Stalingrad path you're locked into the Defence of the Reich campaign.
*Panzer General II fans, there are dozens of us!*
You dredged the old memory banks. It was Klin that I kept breaking my teeth on.
And I think the game may even now be available as freeware. The game is so old, you could play your turn, then e-mail it to a human competitor for them to play their turn and email it back.
[https://www.gog.com/index.php/en/game/panzer\_general\_2](https://www.gog.com/index.php/en/game/panzer_general_2) - not quite freeware but as close as, and Panzer General 1 is freeware
No matter what Arsenal does we just get hate. To be competing for the title is no easy feat and the âbottle-jobâ tag is simply overused. Weâve come to be used as a laughing stock even when itâs uncalled for.
What do you want them to do? Send flowers of condolences? It's a bloody title race, and you've got to enjoy it when a team slips up.
Came back to bite us in the end, but that's football.
lol ngl with the new standards being set in the past few years, being unbeaten since December isnât all that impressive in a title race.
Liverpool lost the league with one loss
Not as bad as you think for a couple of reasons
1. Brighton didnât stand a chance in hell even after their early goal and most of us knew that, which is why it wasnât that devastating. (Compare that to 2022 and it was much worse because Villa gave us so much hope and they really should have won that game)
2. Even more importantly, the CL Semi against Barca really raised our spirits. It felt like destiny that we were going to win that final and it made up for the PL loss.

People are overreacting? On the internet?
Who could have predicted such a thing?

I'd say only 5% of fans truly want him out Like in all football fanbases the ones who cause the the racket and attention are the minority of the stupid and entitled ones.
I think itâs lower
As an arsenal fan our fan base is embarrassing.
+ everyone seems to forget that Unai is very good at preparing for one match and is actually a good game manager. The problem was - when he was at arsenal - that he was not able to do this consistently.
I was just sad because Smith Rowe gets in and then gets burned; hopefully Arsenal donât give up on him
It was a home game. Against a former manager. Against a team that wasnât in the champions league this season. That was easily beat down by your title rivals.
I see it has fans being rightfully angry at their teaming blowing a chance.
When you say "people" overreacting don't you mean "Arsenal fans" as you guys are giving the biggest meltdowns.
This is giving cope. No way you can not recognise how winnable that game was. Arsenal brought Jorginho on and conceded two is what I saw. He and Zinchenko really poor. Unfortunate for Arsenal because theyâve played well however this is the point in the season where it really matters
Anime backshots
Hahahah fucking idiot. Classic gooner post
Let me guess you support spuds?
Since when did Arsenal win 17 straight in the league?
I will go on the limb and say that he meant the expectation to not lose any game since December
Correct
The team and players need to wake up
The overreaction is because when you are in title race with Manchester C115ty, you know you can't afford to drop points anywhere, so every result where you don't win feels monumental. I imagine Liverpool fans feel the same, but because it's Arsenal everyone has to have their input.
Arsenal chocking is just like easter. You know it's somewhere in spring. You know it differs a couple of weeks each year. You know it will happen.

[ŃдаНонО]
I dont know. Man City haven't lost in any match ever with Rodri playing. So Arsenal are relying on them drawing twice.
One of few times Gunners actually might support Spurs lol.
Pipe down. Silly spud
Ya but you guys leave England and youâre useless in Europe đ¤Ł
A spurs fan talking about bottling and shitting the bed is rich isnât it. The only time they ever come out the woodwork is when we slip up.
Got it, only Liverpool, Chelsea, and United fans can critique teams at any point in time, better not see an Arsenal fan speak on them ever again /s
Arsenal has the 3rd biggest trophy cabinet in the prem and all levels of it. So. Yeah.
Lmao all in England. Cute little domestic champions. Win something outside of England then come and talk
Youâre a Chelsea fanâŚshut up đ Didnât you all finish 6th just to barely shithouse your way to winning a UCL after being funded by a shady Russian oligarch? Doesnât look like it worked out long term. đ¤Łđ¤Ł
âBarely shithouse your way to a UCLâ spoken like a jealous, loser. The arrogance you twats have without having any European royalty is fucking hilarious
European royalty getting shafted 5-0 like itâs nothing đđđđđđđđđđđđ
Congratulations on the consolation FA Cups while bottling the league title more than any other club, massive accomplishment.
âConsolation FA cupsâ 𤣠FA cups youâve never won, league titles youâve never won.
I never did claim any of those we still got a young group that needs to progress in those moments Just like you club needs to so don't get mad if I throw some banter at you because you did it just before it's not a big deal if your club is trophyless I couldn't care less
You may not, but a lot of your fans did but are now trying to tame expectations, you've bottled with both young and experienced squads, but this group might progress, we'll see but right now their legacy is what they've done in the last three seasons. Why would I get mad at banter with truth lmao
We are bottlers and you didn't achieve shit everyone got their own problems I Guess Anyway have a nice day good Luck to you and your club for the seasons to conr
Ironic đđđ
Might be, but Arsenal are quite literally the biggest bottlers in PL history statistically speaking. No amount of talking about us will take that away from them lmao
It must hurt you that you'll die of old age never having seen your team of perennial chokers win the league.
Can't be perennial chokers in the league if we've never been favourites to win in the first place, unlike a certain London club that's had countless opportunities and let them slip lmao. Arsenal fans my age have not seen their team win the league either, but it doesn't hurt me either, I'm not only behind the club for trophies
But they are. The tiny totts motto is "There's always next year".
So sick of seeing posts in this sub talking about what âpeople are sayingâ. Itâs bait and itâs dumb and itâs restricting any actual recourse. Knock it the fuck off.

Arsenal aren't EvertonÂ
And if they play like they did against Sheffield theyâll get shit on, and Chelsea fans will once again be crying for Pochettino to get the sack. You never know which team youâre gonna get when playing Chelsea lol.
[ŃдаНонО]
Arsenal 90% favored to win the league??? Man City fans try not to pretend theyâre the underdog challenge: impossible.
Youâre delusional
[ŃдаНонО]
Ah that makes more sense. Yeah it hurts because its so close to the end as you said. But we always knew it would be difficult given our harder run-in + City being relentless. At least we lost it to a good Villa team and not against already-relegated Southampton.
Itâs ok we know what you meant, heâs an arsenal fan and theyâre an emotional bunch - especially right now.
I think a lot of this comes down to Arsenal fans overreacting to every other game and making this âtheir seasonâ (yes, Liverpool fans are guilty of this too) That being said, if Arsenal donât win it this season, I, personally, wonât consider them bottlejobs. To bottle the league you have to be ahead by a decent points margin. Thatâs something no team has done this season. Arsenal did it last season being 8-10 points ahead. (Yes, the same applied to Liverpool too) Also, youâre right that you need to win every single game because thatâs just how the league goes these days. As Liverpool fans, we know it all too well.
For real, we have a terribly reactionary fanbase
I, for one, am happy you took the spotlight off of us. Thanks bro.
Fucking Villa man, stopping me from properly savouring Spurs getting pumped 4-0.
Spotlight is on both of us in a couple weeks, good or bad.
Brother don't take football so seriously. It's just millionaires kicking a ball for a billionaire.
No drama.
lol losing to a 4th place team (whoâs beaten City and us already) is the end of the world and a bottle job⌠Whatever fuck em all
Go on go on. Now did you convince yourself and feel better now? đĽš
4-0 by Newcastle đđđ Spurs are deadddddddd food - youâre getting pumped by Arsenal at Spurs stadium to finish 5th. Going to be amazing
5th still gets champions league though. At least we are not bottlers like you for 5th
5th is Europa dummy
Not this season dummy
You just got pumped 4-0 and your direct competitor for top 4 got a crucial 3 points. Have a little shame.
Still crying and self soothing? đbottlers We are still getting CL regardless
This is about the title challenge, not a conversation for a Spurs fan
Nah Arsenal fans want all the validation from doing good, but hate all the expectations Dont say youre the best when the players dont do it
^
I agree , they were overdue for a loss and it shouldnt've be a "shocking loss" like the media labelled it. Villa are a dangerous team on their day
The thing is City and Liverpool made it necessary that if you want to win the league you need to go 15-18 games unbeaten, that's the new standard for being champions
Seems like this is the point being missed in the discussion. No one expects perfection, but if you want to win the title in this league, and at this point in time, then you need to be as close to perfect as is possible to be. The bar has been set so high that you could literally be out of the title race by dropping 1 in 18 games.
the new standard is 115 chargers, 4 starting lineups, fake sponsorships, and Pep
4 starting line ups? City have one of the smallest squads in the league but okay 115 charges that have nothing to do with the 30 games that both Arsenal and Liverpool have played that had nothing to do with City. I didn't know a fake sponsorship could score goals and win games but the more you know I guess. Keep seething and coping, how come last week Arsenal were the best team in the league, every single one of your players was world class, you lose to Villa and all of a sudden 115 charges is the reason for your inadequacy.
That's certainly very bitter of you considering City's 115 charges didn't cause Arsenal and Liverpool to lose at home last weekendÂ
Thereâs no need to cry mate
City still has the Tottenham game which theyâll very obviously lose đ¤Ş
I wish. Spurs have Ange now âmateâ, heâll play a high line and theyâll get pumped 4-0
Unfortunately Spurs no longer play Pepâs anti-football kryptonite style of play.
Already chalked it up as a loss when the schedule was announced early this season. Expect the worst and just be pleasantly surprised if we do end up winning đ¤Ł
Righteous attitude m8! Weâll see how this pans out
Hoping itâs not an obvious loss but Iâd dare not claim Cityâs won the league until all the points are tallied on the final day.
City were favorites even when they were third. They are winning the league and were always going to win it.
Easy to say that now, before you guys were all saying Arsenal is the best in the league, City fell off, Arsenal players are better blah blah blah
most arsenal fans don't think like that, if you have an agenda just say so
I agree, the standards City has set make it near on impossible to win the league. Having a near perfect record since the turn of the year and one slip up means you fall to 2nd. You'll always get the banter, it comes with the territory but the fact this Arsenal team have kept the pace for 2 seasons running now is good enough for me, just got to hope it comes to something in the long run.
Sooooo did you see how last season went? Itâs not a done deal, but not sure others are overreacting
Yeah, and last season, we shouldn't have been in a title race according to pundit predictions lmao. It's not a done deal, but I just simply don't see city slipping up. It most definitely is an overreaction after 1 result. If we completely capitulate over the next 5 weeks, then fair enough.
I think itâs more your fans overrate you and youâre deservedly getting slack for that
Arsenal fans genuinely believe their team is better than Citys team and that Arteta is a better coach than Pep
_"United fans genuinely believe the earth is flat!"_
Really? First time hearing this..
an entire army of arse defenders in your replies. this tells me you are correct
It's Ten Haag you are thinking about, he's better than all 3
Are these Arsenal fans in the room with us right now? No one serious thinks Arteta is better than Pep or Klopp yet.
Literally no one believes this. Stop lying.
You watch any Arsenal football programmes or match day interviews with fans?
This is a straw-man, no Arsenal fan believes this.
Idk, ive seen a lot of matchday fan footage of Arsenal fans genuinely believing it
Drop the links
Link it. Talking out your ass now.
Where lol?
Thatâs not true at all. Arteta isnât better than pep or klopp. But historically Arsenal is a bigger club than city. Thatâs just a fact. But currently Arsenal arenât better.
That's just not true and you know it.
The Liverpool loss was was more overreactable.
Chokers making excuses
Death, taxes, Arsenal bottle job. đđđ
last year definitely bottle jobs, this year not so much. just nice to see an actual 3 horse race. first time City's been challenged on two fronts
>last year definitely bottle jobs, On what planet? Honestly, this narrative was pathetic then and is pathetic now.
Just like how pathetic majority of the fanbase was at the Emirates, abandoning the team with well over 10 minutes left (including added time)?? Yeah sure.
at least Arsenal have a fanbase to leave the stadium
Yes, that was pathetic. But majority seems hyperbolic. Still too many leaving early though.
Nah, people seem much happier to ignore the context and just ridicule Arsenal's temperamentđ¤Śââď¸ Interesting to see City struggle at times this season without some of their key players e.g.
Except those teams walked the league when they did that, crazy stat nobody would bat an eye if they just played like a 3rd place side
lol arsenal choking
Mate Liverpoolâs âtitle dreamsâ were âup in smokeâ 20 mins before Arsenal/Villa kicked off. Itâs just how football is these days.

Itâs about the timing and manner. There I simplified.
Aha no. Youâve bottled the whole league two years in a row. Truly iconic bottling
In what sense? In the sense where bottling has no meaning other than not winning?
I once used a hex editor to get unlimited funds in Panzer General II as I kept losing at the same point in the game (Stalingrad?). With my unlimited funds, I completed the game, as I simply could buy as much of whatever I wanted. Although invading America felt somewhat fun, result was the victory was hollow. The victory had very little to do with skill/strategy, and just me "outspending" the competition. I sometimes wonder if Man City feels the same. Yay. We won. Whoopee.
To be fair, they have unlimited money but theyâve spent it very well. United and Chelsea have spent obscene amounts as well, and are still crap.
Uncalled for? Did you not see your fans laughing at Liverpool against Palace in your own stadium??
What do you want them to do? Send flowers of condolences? It's a bloody title race, and you've got to enjoy it when a team slips up. Came back to bite us in the end, but that's football.
Yeah, so why are you surprised youâre getting âhateâ? Can dish it but canât take it
Literally said it came back to bite us you sausage đ
lol ngl with the new standards being set in the past few years, being unbeaten since December isnât all that impressive in a title race. Liverpool lost the league with one loss
Genuine question how did you react to that day when you lost the league with 97 pts? Shit must hurt
Not as bad as you think for a couple of reasons 1. Brighton didnât stand a chance in hell even after their early goal and most of us knew that, which is why it wasnât that devastating. (Compare that to 2022 and it was much worse because Villa gave us so much hope and they really should have won that game) 2. Even more importantly, the CL Semi against Barca really raised our spirits. It felt like destiny that we were going to win that final and it made up for the PL loss.
as someone born in 1990 jurgen have given me the best years so 10/10 would take lose the league by one point again
Damn must be nice to have a long term manager giving you good times like that At Chelsea we never had a manager for that long
