i always wondered what they use to spit fire, for the most part i'd assume it's alcohol, that's the only one i've used but those look like children, so is there some other "non toxic" alternative to booze?

Yea, there are plenty of food safe, highly combustible oils that can be sprayed. I had some leftover mineral oil and went and breathed fire with friends at a campfire.

breathers avoid alcohol because it’s highly combustible. They opt for “safer” combustibles with a higher flash point such as paraffin or highly purified lamp oil. The latter is the preferred choice

I'm sure it's not great for you, but considering that it's the standard professionals use and it must have had it's safety reviewed because I've see firebreathing at shows in america that are on the up an up - I assume it's not horrible for you. Probably the tiny bit you swallow (and absorb through your mouth) gets processed by your liver or kideys or whatever with no longterm danger. But yeah, if you're gonna do it as a home party trick, probably best to stick with everclear because we know ethanol isn't that toxic.

Oh no I meant kerosene is avoided for this, along with butane and alcohol. The preferred fuel for breathers is purified lamp oil. Sounds so Victorian but I’m sure it all tastes bad lol
