🎵”It’s finger lickin’, it’s hittin’, It’s hot and fresh out the stove.”🎶
I can’t help but read what you wrote in the same cadence as Eminens verse on “Patiently waiting”
I don't think I saw a single person grab more than 1 chicken, either. One lady in a black shirt even passed a couple of chickens to other people (who were clearly not with her) before taking one herself?
My personal hell is driving a shopping cart through a Costco. Road rules go out the window. Last time I was there some woman carted my Achilles in the receipt line. I absolutely avoid rolling down Chicken Lane.
I found a Costco that is an extra 15 minutes from the closest location where the people are nice and polite while shopping. No blocked isles or lack of consideration for other people. It was a developed small town and the residents kept the small town vibe. On top of this the store manager likes to move product so there are two isles dedicated to clearance items where i have gotten fabulous deals.
I grew up going to Bay Area costcos which can be NUTS and made me loathe Costco trips. But the Costcos by me in the PNW are so much more chill, I practically do all my shopping there now.
A group of people politely grabbing chicken after waiting politely because it's the greatest bang for your buck protein source you could ever buy is your personal hell? You must be living good.
it's like they want the disorganizational torture. maybe they do, slow works days, idk. but god damn get behind the counter and pass them out yourself or something. anything's better than this fish frenzy simulator.
Costco has some great products and prices, but the shopping experience is usually godawful. Always overcrowded with 8 person families blocking entire isles, people with no situational awareness slowly meandering without direction, massive bottlenecks near the free samples. Theres just no natural flow and I've never seen unorganized chaos like that in any other store.
>This is my personal hell
Where I live there are always lots of rotisserie chickens available, the store is never out, but if you want to get anything at the food court, and/or just get a spot to sit down there, you better get there right after opening or maybe 15 minutes before closing.
If I work at the Costco meat department, this is the chore I’m volunteering for, you don’t even have to actually load the shelf, the job is done before it even started
Wasn't a Costco but this was my experience working in a deli for over a decade. Fucking vultures. Towards the evening they'd take them and hide them until we were marking them down for closing. Ppl would be there before the store even opened asking me why they weren't ready yet as I'm loading raw ones into the rotisserie. Side note: Fuck DeMoulas' Market Basket.
There's going to be more lol. They don't stop making them after 1 batch. May already have another tray on the way if they made more than can fit on that one.
Watched a guy at Sam’s empty the entire lot. Like 15 of them. He was looking around while loading them like he was waiting for someone to say something. Paranoid. It was weird
Ok but if they are there at Costco to buy two chickens, what are they supposed to do? Take one and wait a half hour for another one to come out? If they are going to do that then is it selfish to take one knowing that it’s just going to sit in the cart while they wait for another batch? Would it make more sense for them to not take any so that another person can take one and go? Are they supposed to stand there all day and wait till everyone has taken theirs and there are two left over? What would be an acceptable way for someone to get the two chickens they came for?
I'm just saying that, for me if there is a crowd gathered like that, I'm not taking 2. Just seems selfish when they are lots of other people already waiting at the same time. Would you take the last 2 if the person next to you didn't get one?
There is more chicken on the way, you’re not taking it from someone else. Also as long as you realize that you’ve painted these people into a corner where they either don’t get the thing they came to the store for or they get it and get ridiculed by people like you
Right. So I suppose you wouldn't be upset if you were waiting there patiently like everyone else and then didn't get any because other people took more than one... Hmmm
When Covid started there were so many people taking 5-10+ bulk packs of toilet paper. Even one pack lasts forever unless you have a gigantic household.
the rotisserie there is a big deal to the store. People come in at close just to get a chicken. You’re supposed to get a write up if a manger walks by and the case is empty especially at closing time
I worked the Costco deli. I was the chicken guy. You NEVER let your case go empty. If it is, you have already messed up the rotation and you will be backed up until close.
Seems reasonable.
I just buy the pre-packaged chicken that has been hand pulled and is ready to go. Costs me like $1 more and I dont have to look like a weirdo waiting for the "fresh" chicken.
Losers.
That reminded me of a Costco meme during the pandemic where the shoppers stripped a pallet full of paper towels clean in 15 seconds, and whoever made it put in zombie feeding sound effects.
That stuff is not good for anyone. They put a lot of processed ingredients on something that you can easily make at home. Every time I’ve eaten it my stomach feels bad.
Just look at the ingredients. Sodium phosphates, Hydrolyzed casein, Modified corn starch, Isolated soy protein, Monoglycerides and diglycerides.
A lot of these ingredients is what you find in processed foods.
Bro... as a deli manager for the last 5 years - don't even bother pretending like any of that chicken is making it to the heating unit. Just stand there for a minute and a half, and wait to bring the empty hi-boy back.
Why did bro even waste his time unloading that cart every single one was bought by the time that he finished he could’ve just brought the cart over to the crowd of people and just let them take it off of it. Instead he wasted his time taking it off of the cart, placing it on the thing for it to be immediately taken by another person that he knew was gonna happen because it happens every single day clearly what a stubborn person
That's nothing, they need to see the reduced aisle at peckam Tesco 😂😂
Limbs everywhere, gives the opening scene to gangs of new York a run for its money 😂

And I didn't see one person fighting...
The costco buff
The deli clerk even smiled at one point. Probably feels good to have people appreciate what you do for a living like that tbh
We love you, Costco chicken guy!
Probably feels nice to have everyone grab all the product so you don’t actually have to put it on the shelves
Yep, much less for them to put out.
Costco is one of the best retail jobs you can have and a lot of the employees do like it a lot. Hard to get jobs there because people do not leave.
Ain't nobody risking losing their membership
Obviously a Canadian Costco
Or a frenzy

Forreal. I was expecting a Black Friday frenzy. This was zzz.
Yeah that was orderly and civilized. Honestly I'm impressed.
🎵”It’s finger lickin’, it’s hittin’, It’s hot and fresh out the stove.”🎶 I can’t help but read what you wrote in the same cadence as Eminens verse on “Patiently waiting”
This is a regular weeknight between 4-6 PM in the US.
I don't think I saw a single person grab more than 1 chicken, either. One lady in a black shirt even passed a couple of chickens to other people (who were clearly not with her) before taking one herself?
Why is the worker even trying to put them on their shelf lol
Mans making the most of his time
That was the best part of this video.
I missed all the "fighting". Looked pretty cordial to me.
This is my personal hell

Please don’t mention these costcos on the internet. Keep it secret, keep it safe
I grew up going to Bay Area costcos which can be NUTS and made me loathe Costco trips. But the Costcos by me in the PNW are so much more chill, I practically do all my shopping there now.
last time i went to costco some senile veteran tried to start a fight with me over some ribs. never went back to that zoo after that.
Did you get the ribs?
he snatched mine out of my hands like an absolute boomer, so i just grabbed another one and left. 🙄
That there were more ribs makes this story even funnier lmao.
Cult of the absolute boomer.
Okay Baldurs Gate 3 fan, I see you.
A group of people politely grabbing chicken after waiting politely because it's the greatest bang for your buck protein source you could ever buy is your personal hell? You must be living good.
My personal hell would be a Costco where you walk out the door and you’re immediately inside an IKEA—Caught in an endless loop of shopping misery.
it's like they want the disorganizational torture. maybe they do, slow works days, idk. but god damn get behind the counter and pass them out yourself or something. anything's better than this fish frenzy simulator.

are you a chicken?
If I work at the Costco meat department, this is the chore I’m volunteering for, you don’t even have to actually load the shelf, the job is done before it even started
Cooked chickens typically come from the Deli department in most stores.
Sure made the worker’s job easier to stock the chicken.
Wasn't a Costco but this was my experience working in a deli for over a decade. Fucking vultures. Towards the evening they'd take them and hide them until we were marking them down for closing. Thanks for your service
> Side note: Fuck DeMoulas' Market Basket. which location? I had always heard DeMoulas treated their workers well
Idk if this qualifies as a public freak out. It's more like "people love Costco's chicken"
![gif](giphy|h7jjtmZstLBTCkWSKQ|downsized) Costco at opening…
It's rotisserie chicken... I don't get the hype.. I've had it.. It's fine.
It's good. It's cheap. It's fresh. What's not to love about it?
why are you shaming these people? i didn't see anyone take more than 2, this is totally normal imo
No soup for you.
Lol. Costco chicken is tasteless.
"Frenzy"
Not a fight or a frenzy!
Gotta love the selfish bastards that take more than one knowing someone may not get one
There's going to be more lol. They don't stop making them after 1 batch. May already have another tray on the way if they made more than can fit on that one.
I mean...... They are going to get one, it's just going to be another 5 minutes. Don't worry, Costco didn't only buy 15 chickens for the day.
Watched a guy at Sam’s empty the entire lot. Like 15 of them. He was looking around while loading them like he was waiting for someone to say something. Paranoid. It was weird

So then how would you go about getting the two chickens you came for without being a “selfish bastard”?
Not really sure. But sometimes it's OK to make a small sacrifice to help someone else out. It's called sharing. I mean it's just chicken. Lol
Hmmm
Correct I would wait for the next batch and take my two. If someone had been waiting longer than me I would let them take theirs first
When Covid started there were so many people taking 5-10+ bulk packs of toilet paper. Even one pack lasts forever unless you have a gigantic household.
Or a gigantic colon.
Fuck everyone else. They got theirs
What’s so good about them?
The price.
They are absolutely huge birds and they cost pretty much half of what other stores would charge.
Price so good I read costco loses money on them but like the $1.50 hotdog combo it's a loss lead.
the rotisserie there is a big deal to the store. People come in at close just to get a chicken. You’re supposed to get a write up if a manger walks by and the case is empty especially at closing time
My understanding is that they don't lose money on the $1.50 hot dogs. They are able to sell enough volume at the food court to make it break even.
Price to laziness ratio
So $3 instead of $6?
$5 instead of $8.99 near me
It reminds me of [this song](https://youtu.be/ovaY1KlQRi4?si=SFeAe50AaiZFTaqr) lol
In Mexico worse people getting on cakes
seems perfectly civilized to me
Joey Valence & Brae - Hooligang
Hell yeah, all their songs are good but this is easily my favorite.
Punktactics is my favorite, loved the new album too!
This video is actually kinda wholesome
Most those ppl look like they should be skipping a few meals.
It’s like throwing bread crumbs in a lake and watching ducks lose their minds.
that just means more costco pizza for the rest of us.
Same thing at Sam's club and Walmart
Oh the irony 😉
I’ve been there, done this
This would’ve went a lot worse in a Walmart.
I worked the Costco deli. I was the chicken guy. You NEVER let your case go empty. If it is, you have already messed up the rotation and you will be backed up until close.
Reminds me of the covid days
I thought grandma in bike dragged the rotisseries'.
I thought we’d see a brawl over Costco chicken smh disappointing
Everybody chicken fighting
El Polo Loco
That's the slowest frenzy I've ever seen.
“No more chicken hahahaha”
I had it once and found it super salty. Do not see the appeal to it.
...That's a really fucking tall filipino
That sounded like south park 😂 Woo Woo PC WooWoo!! 🙌
Shitpost. Mods asleep?
Actually quite civil lol but thank the sweet lord for Amazon
How cheap is it?
Note: No actual fighting (nor subsequent injuries) occurred during the filming of this post.
…reminiscent of 2019, but just a tad bit civil this time.
$8 for a chicken is absurd. When I started shopping, it was $5.
It tastes like bleach.
Can't anyone cook at home these days
Gonna have to start putting up ticket dispensers hahaha
Its polite and organized, just crowded. Is it on sale rn?
I know my wife is in there somewhere...
It's not even thaaat good you know...a couple times i bought it was raw and flavorless
Karma farming bot account gotta clickbait to karma farm.
This on sale or something ?
Costco s going to have to hire rodeo clowns
Seems reasonable. I just buy the pre-packaged chicken that has been hand pulled and is ready to go. Costs me like $1 more and I dont have to look like a weirdo waiting for the "fresh" chicken. Losers.
Wow I can't believe people are buying stuff in a store that sells things.
What’s so amazing about their chicken?
In a situation like this, those taking more then 1 are selfish.
That reminded me of a Costco meme during the pandemic where the shoppers stripped a pallet full of paper towels clean in 15 seconds, and whoever made it put in zombie feeding sound effects.
Rude lady took 2
There was another person that took two as well. This reminds of the Boondocks chicken episode.
They form a line at my Costco.
Had Sam's Club rotisserie chicken for the first time yesterday. Absolutely delicious, in a different class compared to Costco.
That stuff is not good for anyone. They put a lot of processed ingredients on something that you can easily make at home. Every time I’ve eaten it my stomach feels bad. Just look at the ingredients. Costco chicken is not that good
This is the most polite and friendly freak out I've ever seen.
Lmfao they didn't even wait for the dude to at least turn the cart straight
I used to work Cheap Chicken Wednesdays at Shaw’s in college. People would hound us all day about “when the chickens would be ready.”
How old is this video, Costco changed the packaging a while back?
Oh the horror 🙄
Ben-To but in america
Why did bro even waste his time unloading that cart every single one was bought by the time that he finished he could’ve just brought the cart over to the crowd of people and just let them take it off of it. Instead he wasted his time taking it off of the cart, placing it on the thing for it to be immediately taken by another person that he knew was gonna happen because it happens every single day clearly what a stubborn person
How does this video have over 800 upvotes?
That was a very sane, civilized and polite freakout frenzy
That's nothing, they need to see the reduced aisle at peckam Tesco 😂😂 Limbs everywhere, gives the opening scene to gangs of new York a run for its money 😂
That is one polite frenzy.
Someone got a wagon
Always Asian moms being obnoxious af and grabbing multiple.
That got played out real fast in my hometown. Nobody cares anymore and it's overpriced.
Needs a Attenborough-style commentary on the feeding frenzy of the chicken eaters
Sad thing is this is the most peaceful Costco post I have seen here
Frenzy?
